  • I've been fasting for about 3 weeks - 16:8. I'm doing this in conjunction with a low carb diet and am seeing results. I don't really have any questions right now, but it's great to meet everyone!
  • I "quit" about 3 weeks ago. However, every time a friend comes over who smokes I "cheat" - this has happened 3 times so far. It's discouraging because I've found that I really don't need or even crave them anymore unless someone is smoking them right in front of me. Then I want one just because.
  • I've been doing 16:8 combined with low carb for a little less than 2 weeks and have lost over 10 lbs. I'm sure it's mostly water weight, but it's still encouraging to see the numbers go down. SW 188, CW 177. I still get pretty hungry in the morning while I'm waiting for my eating window, but I've found that once I'm in my…
  • Huh. That's too bad. Thank you for responding, and sorry the pics were so huge! I'm just now seeing this thread from my desktop.
  • For me, it was simple. I like the concept of Weight Watchers, but they don't have the option to import a recipe in the recipe builder like MFP. I don't have time to sit there and input all the ingredients of a recipe each time. I'd like to simply be able to import it from a website and have the ingredients populate. I…
  • Thank you all for the advice. This is exactly the type of advice I was looking for. I'm going to focus on meeting the macro targets and set my goal to a slower loss of 0.5 lbs per week. As far as visual results, it's more important to me to lose the fat than see muscle gains. So I think I'll plan my diet around a fat loss…
  • I need to lose about 20 lbs.
  • Thank you for the advice on iifiym. Here is my information from that site, plugged in as best as I could to MFP: Daily Nutrition Goals Calories 1594 Carbohydrates 120 g 30 % Fat 62 g 35 % Protein 139 g 35
  • I'm 24 weeks.
  • Nice to meet you! Think you'll have another boy? I have two boys and am pregnant with my third boy. :) I'm trying to avoid less processed foods as well.
  • I had my first workout today! I walked for 20 minutes on the treadmill and did a couple sets of arm workouts (5 lb weights). This is the first time I've done any exercise during this entire pregnancy, and I feel great. I wish I had more time to spend there, but I'm on my lunch hour. I am going to shoot for about 3…
  • I did a low carb diet once, and I ate beef sticks (and cheese) for snacks. I'm not sure that those are that great for you either, but it did steer me away from mindless carb snacking. And I only needed one and a little bit of cheese to feel full.
  • Hi Ashley! I'm 23 weeks as well and have done absolutely nothing with respect to working out and logging. Going to try to get on track today. I bought some pregnancy workout DVDs a couple months ago that are STILL unwrapped. Shame, shame. Nice to meet you!
  • Well, I made an intro post then disappeared for a few weeks. We are getting ready to move in a couple months and things just got crazy. It's so nice to meet everyone! Lala - girl, I thought I had a busy schedule! I don't know how you do it! Thanks for making this group. Even within all the busyness of daily life, I find…
  • Hi, just joined the group today. I am 30 years old, and 20 weeks along with my 3rd pregnancy. I began this pregnancy just slightly overweight. I've been eating whatever I want and doing nothing physically up until this point. I'd like to get back on track and at least log what I eat so I don't get carried away. I updated…
  • I bought some body wipes today just in case deodorant wasn't cutting it. There is a bathroom and locker room. I've been going pretty regularly because it is so convenient. However, I work an office job and my hair is WET along the temples when I return.
  • I've tried numerous diet pills and they haven't worked for me. However, I started eliminating carbs last week and have lost 4 pounds already. Yes, I know that's mostly water weight, but it's a start, and the scale is moving quicker than it ever has. I just load up on eggs, lean meat, and veggies.
  • The only real "fresh produce" is straight from your own garden. I typically buy frozen veggies (things like broccoli, green beans, etc.) for this very reason.
  • By freezing produce, the nutritional content can be preserved that some fresh foods lose as the clock ticks. I would think this would be fairly obvious.... Anyway, has anyone mentioned making double batches/freezer meals? I have found that making double batches of foods when key ingredients are on sale not only saves…
  • Bought PiYo a few weeks ago, tried two workouts, and couldn't stand it. Sold it. I just ordered Les Mills' Pump, tried it today, and I like it so far. I'm more concerned about flab than the number on the scale - so I think weights need to be priority for me. I love Chalene Johnson, just don't like the PiYo concept/workout.
  • Hi Heather - I just started Les Mills Pump today (the in-home version). I'd love to friend you. Might I ask how much of a difference you noticed in weight and definition after the the classes?
  • I'm going to randomly chime in and say yes, everyone should learn to cook and no, it is not ok to rely on convenience foods all day. You may still lose weight, but you are not healthy on the inside if you eat convenience and overly processed foods all day. :frown:
  • I would like to join too. I ordered PiYo Saturday, so I might be a few days behind you all.
  • I'm concerned. I ordered PiYo saturday and it's on its way. The problem is, I bought the program for STRENGTH training (body weight exercises). Especially because my husband sold all of our weight equipment. I thought the program would allow me to build muscle from my own body weight. I don't want it if it's more on the…
  • I've varied by 5 lbs in one day.
  • My friend has been taking this for three weeks and lost 12 inches. :noway:
  • What would be the best tool to calculate calories burned during interval training? This sounds like I'm not nearly burning as many as I thought. This week, the workout is 5 min warmup, 5 min jog, 3 min walk, 5 min jog, 3 min walk, 5 min jog, 5 min cool down. My heart rate stays within my "zone" during the walking, but…
  • My first 5k was last year, the MudFactor. Honestly, I walked most of the time. But I had a BLAST, and I did all the obstacles. I'm doing the same run next month, and this time I've been training! By the time the 5k rolls around, I should be able to run 3 miles straight, though with the hills and obstacles and trudging…
  • This is what I've always heard. So even if it fits into your calories, it's probably not the greatest idea. I can eat a ton of twinkles and have it "fit into my calories" too, but that doesn't mean my body is going to be in awesome shape. I may be the type of person that needs to abstain entirely, since my tolerance is so…
  • Thanks for this. I needed it.
