• OR friends with the staff... but don't even think about recommending they add dumbbell stacks to various parts of the gym for easier access and more availability during various exercises (aka circuit, abs, etc.). That might intimidate someone if they had weight stacks strategically placed throughout the gym. ugh.
• So true. Very few people GO to the gym just to gawk at the other gym go-ers. And when we realize that no one really cares what we are doing as long as we don't get in their way, that is when the real magic starts to happen.
• While I do enjoy going to Planet Fitness I don't feel they give enough support/encouragement/guidance to someone that really DOES want to make REAL changes in their body. This whole "no gymtimidation" "judgement free zone" is hog wash. Those are still PEOPLE in there and I am here to tell you that is just what people do.…
• I LOVE THIS! This should be the Planet Fitness theme NOT "no gymtimidation and judgement free zone" since that is just not realistic. It should not matter if people are judging me that is stealing THEIR HAPPINESS! My mother always said never compare yourself to others because you will ALWAYS compare your WORST to their…
• Personally, I make sure my workout covers the calories I will consume from the beer I plan to drink. And then I try to hold myself to the occasional splurge not a regular thing.
• Was just wondering how things are going for you now? I have been researching medifast as well after a friend of mine lost about sixty pounds in the past eight months. I too am very active and love to run four days a week. Just wondered why you had to cut back on your exercise if you are trying to lose weight.
• Agreed! Focus on getting protein in every meal and limit your carbs to two meals and/or snacks a day. Make those whole grain carbs or natural carbs like fruit before a run. Eggs and oatmeal for breakfast will give you fuel for the day. On the go, try making a smoothie packed with spinach, fruit, almond milk and maybe…
• Your body needs fuel to function and to build muscle. So focus on eating enough protein, weight training and your metabolism will pick up. If you only have 10 pounds to loose you really need to be lifting weights to pump up the muscle to burn more calories but you won't build any muscle if you aren't eating enough of the…
• 1200 calories is the LEAST amount of calories you should eat to fuel your body and expect weight loss. If you exercise your body needs more fuel so you eat "back" those calories. Sounds counter productive I know but if you don't get in enough calories to fuel your body it stops your metabolism. So plan your meals so that…
• I did until I found the Dannon Lite and Fit Greek yogurt for 80 cals a cup. It tastes delicious. AND I was one of those that got a molded Chiobani so I hesitate to buy it now.
• Apparently you need me to define the word "most" for you. most mōst/ determiner & pronoun determiner: most; pronoun: most 1. superlative of many, much. 2. greatest in amount or degree. adverb adverb: most 1. superlative of much. 2. to the greatest extent.
• Accountability is the key. No one can do this for us, we have to do it for ourselves. Daily! Every DAY! I am with you on that one.
• I try to avoid most processed foods so I make protein bars using the protein powder I purchased. I found the recipe on bodybuilding.com and they are fantastic. AND they are homemade. My rule of thumb for eating "junk" food was always that store bought is not worth the calories but if a desert is homemade then I am more…
•
This challenge is all about trying to cut back at all the extra cals we get from eating out and a bonus of saving money. :)
We have jumped in on this challenge as well. We usually eat out once a week but are going to try to stop that except for special occassions like birthdays and even then cooking a…
• I love this idea! What a great challenge. Count me in.
• Giving this a try tonight.
• I DO eat "all freaking day" every three hours approximately and while I feel that I am eating all the time my calories are usually in check and my energy level maintained. I guess it's all about what you eat and I would rather eat real food than take a lot of other things I don't know much about. I am just a little leary…
• This is one of the main reasons I am really looking into it seriously. I am eager to try some of these recipes as I am also following Jamie Eason's workout plan but wasn't sure about which protein powders were the best to use.
• This is absolutely one of the best things I have ever tasted. Made this for super bowl Sunday and EVERYONE loved it!!!
• Agreed!!! Give your body time to adjust to the time change slowly. Unlike others I am not able to work out mid-day so an A.M. workout is my only guarantee that I will have time to workout at all. Like you, the time change is BRUTAL to my schedule so I have been waking up just thirty minutes earlier to get on the elliptical…
• You body has a natural weight where it is comfortable. If you are having to drastically cut your calories below 1200 calories to maintain that weight then you are not at your body's natural weight. Your body cannot function properly without consuming muscle mass on fewer calories for any period of time. I would dare say…
• In that case I would re-figure your setting just to be sure. If you are still not happy, exercise a bit more and don't record/eat back the calories burned and see what happens. OH and increase your water intake for a week or so and that may shake things up.
• I think it's a good idea to have friends that have 1. Traveled the journey you are on and were successful 2. Are traveling the journey you are on 3. Are just beginning their journey It's great to be able to gleen ideas from those that have done it, share your triumphs and trials with those on the same path, and encourage…
• 100% Agree!! Hubby and I enjoy going out to our favorite brewery/restaurant and having a beer with our dinner. BUT, I have a rule, it's called the Law of ONE. If I stop at one then I have maintained control as opposed to giving control over to other forces, in this case the alcohol. It DEFINITELY lowers your inhibitions…
• ^^^ THIS^^^ So frustrating...... and I just keep doing it. LOL
• I think I could work with this!!! Perhaps a tummy tuck or a butt lift!! :) I do know someone who had her arms "sculpted". Not exactly sure about that one but hey..... everybody's got their own ideas.
• This is the KEY!! Having hit my goal weight before and then slacking off and letting it get away from me I HIGHLY RECOMMEND setting a new goal. Weight is not the ultimate goal, it is an easily measurable goal. SO NOW set another goal for your self as suggested. My goal is to run a 10K, or a plank goal, or a push up goal,…
• Also watch out for the sauce you choose. I always stick with yellow mustard on my 6" chicken breast since it has the least amount of calories. Many of their other sauces have lots of sugar as well. And load up on the veggies!
• Agree totally! I always have an errand to run or something to do after work that competes with my gym time so if I work out in the morning before work (5am - 45 min run on my treadmill or elyptical) I am guaranteed to get it in for the day. If I don't have something else to do after work, then I go to the gym with a friend…
