I started tracking as a way to stabilize my blood sugar so I could see what types of food kept it from spiking. Weight loss has been a side effect of that 🙂

I’m a SAHM but have special needs kids so I spend a LOT of time taking them to appointments and therapies and there are plenty of days I need food for all of us that we can graze on because we may not be able to fit a meal in between appointments if one runs long. I can portion out into a divided container and log mine and…

@cjbrummet Your granddaughter reminds me of my oldest son at that age. My Dad took him for a bike ride and he complained the whole time 😂 it was boring, it was too far, it was too much work, etc etc. But ODS (older dear son) has ADHD and we gave him a choice since it was summer—bike ride with Grandpa because the exercise…

If you graze, I’d plan for that—portion and log “grazeable” foods to bring with you and then you don’t have to worry about logging them as you go. Prepping and packing doesn’t mean it has to be a “meal”—a variety of healthy things you can graze on works just as well!

September goals: More walking! Kids had a lot of appointments last week so I only made it for one long walk (I’m trying to go after they get on the bus before it gets too hot) Get physical therapy. I have an old knee injury (severed my ACL 8 years ago in October) and over the years orthos have basically shrugged and said…

The last few days have been pretty bad here—the mental and emotional energy to deal with everything happening is so draining 😕

I’m about 32 down, another 100-150 to go. 100 will put me back in the 100s and I’ll keep losing until I hit the point where my 1200-1400 calories I typically eat gets me to maintaining instead of losing 🙂

I also have hEDS—almost eight years ago I also severed my left ACL so my knee is even more unstable now—makes it hard to get around!

I’d like to join :)

I look for simple dishes—recognizable ingredients help me estimate for logging and help me avoid the foods I shouldn’t have. And if there’s something I’d really like to have even if it doesn’t fit my goals, I get a very small amount, maybe a tablespoon or two, and eat it in tiny bites so I can savor and enjoy the flavor.…

Occasionally. I’m not a big milk drinker but we always have whole milk for the kids so if I’m in the mood for milk I have some and just go for lower carb meals the rest of my day

I seem to do best if I stay between 50-80 carbs. Below 50 and my ketones go up to “seek medical attention” levels and above 80, my glucose numbers are too high

The only time I can lose weight is while pregnant (and a couple months postpartum) and while on Metformin. I have four kids so after each of them I lost a bunch of weight and then when hormones shift I gained it all back and more 😒 About twelve years ago I was on Metformin for high insulin levels and I lost weight and felt…

My water goal is to hit a minimum of 50 ounces and I was at 64 today 🤗 I have a drs appointment in the morning so fingers crossed I went down at least half a pound because I’d really love to be in the 200s! I had lost 15 pounds at my last appointment and she didn’t notice 😒. I’d be at 26+ tomorrow if I lose at least half a…

Mine is also open to friends :)

Very nice! Hitting double digits is always a nice milestone to pass 😁

My backside definitely isn’t flat lol. But I seem to have lost some inches in the hip because whoosh! down they go if I forget and put my phone in my pocket 😂😂

Eating out, even if I’m under calories, makes me gain temporarily. Probably water retention from the sodium 😬. I’ve found if I drink extra water, the scale holds steady instead of going up (it’s been fairly normal for me to lose small amounts a day, maybe .2-.4 pounds)

I study the nutrition charts before I go somewhere to figure out what I can have—I eat low carb so I definitely have to get creative with some of the meals! I’ve discovered that if I get some sort of sandwich my teen wants the bun so he can turn it into a sandwich later lol. He says buns taste better than just bread 🤷♀️

Getting my water in was fine yesterday but won’t happen today—I woke up vomiting. This is the fourth time in a month 😖. Either my immune system is completely shot or this is a side effect of a med I started right before this nausea-vomiting cycle began. I was supposed to see my doctor this morning about it but had to…
