You know, this is SUCH a great point - I used to be the person who threw 3 months of work out the door over one bad week. Thank you so much for saying this - I needed to hear it!

This, and there are soo many yummy light/FF options for Italian dressing now! Two tablespoons of light (40cals) goes great in one can of tuna. Sometimes I take the top off the tuna, drizzle the dressing into the can and just eat it right out of the can!

I recently indulged in things I haven't in a long time (beer, wings, Easter ham, chocolate, pizza) I don't know what got into me, but 5 out of the last 7 days have been completely off my plan. So, I have also come to realize that I don't get the same enjoyment out of these rich foods OR restaurants. I think I'd rather…

Oh my gosh - THANK YOU for this thread - I am so glad I am not the only one... I have been "celebrating" Easter since last Wednesday... ha ha! So, 5 out of the last 7 days for me have been "bad" days. I weighed myself today and was at 221 from 217 last week. So, 4 lbs up AND pushed myself back into another decade. :( I am…

I think I have the kids talked into letting the Giant Chocolate Bunnies be given out by us as "dessert" only, after dinner. At the table, in a mindful way instead of letting them veg in front of the TV with them. :/ The rest of the candy in their baskets I am just letting them have at it until its gone - its hard for me to…

I hear ya - it does seem mean, BUT, I also can't stand the thoughts of her consuming that many calories and sugar in one sitting while she's dealing with a weight problem right now. Isn't standing by and letting that go on neglectful in a way? Plus, she has enjoyed PLENTY of Easter candy - its just these GIGANTIC chocolate…

This is a good idea, and I already do have 3 solid chocolate bunnies in the freezer that I stole before the kids saw them (grandparents again) but how do I explain to them that instead of letting them eat their bunnies, I want to freeze them and use the chocolate some other time???

How much have you lost? After 3 months of exercise and diet changes, I have lost 32 lbs and gone from a 10W shoe to a regular 9 and 1/2! I have 53 more lbs to go - I wonder if I'll go down even more in the shoes?? Last year, I even bought a few size 11's that were on sale "just in case" I gained more weight. What was I…

Good for you!!! I bet you feel 20 years younger... wow... Hey, I wanna know if you're still adding to that beer bottle collection in your new weight loss???
-
Thank you guys sooo much for all the kind words and encouragment, and the stories of your own struggles with your children (and AS children your own selves!!) I am definitely going to clean out this house of all the crap and start having a "eat with the family or don't eat at all" policy at dinnertime. Any advice on what I…

I've checked out the bodybuilding.com site, and its seems that women who have alot of weight to los (20+ lbs) are beind advised to use light weights, and pump out 20-30 reps per weight during a circuit. A lot of people here on MFP seem to favor high weight, less reps. Any opinions on if the overweight crowd should be doing…

Ack - so I ended up netting 1670 total for the day instead of 1350, which is my usual goal. Not bad for a dinner out. Thanks for all the help!
-
I do not have access to machines - like I said in my OP, I have free weights and resistance bands and my own 217 lb body - surely that is enough to give me a good start? I will check out bodybuilding.com (didn't realize they had a little program maker - how cool) I definitely do not want to waste any time! When I get…

Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Would one beer really make the whole meal extra fattening due to the prioritizing of calories by the liver?
-
So, if I have one beer with this meal, will it make the meal more fattening? (You know how they say the liver will strap all the food to my *kitten* while it enjoys the beer, type of thing??) Not really, but you know what I'm saying... should I skip the beer?? I usually have a light low carb beer.

So, basically, like a Mexican stir fry, huh??? I never thought of that!! Genius! See... I am so glad I asked.... any other suggestions? Would it be horrible if I had 15 or so taco chips w/salsa??
-
Oh. My. This story is unbelievable! What is WRONG with people???
-
Jeez, I don't know what is worse - this type of comment or no comment at all. I have a few friends who just refuse to acknowledge that I've lost 32 lbs and am finally getting back to my hot self instead of the fat stay at home mom who had let herself go for the last 10 years. My hubby says that my weight loss is to the…

My goals DEFINITELY go beyond just losing weight on the scale. I want to feel strong, I want the endurance to run up stairs without being winded, or to walk in an amusement park for hours and not feel like dying. I love that when I dash across the parking lot in the rain, by the time I get to the mall, I am not breathing…

I think I have asked this before, but, do the Turbo Fire classes count towards any type of resistance training? There is so much punching and kicking, I just wonder. Especially if I wear the hand weights? Someone mentioned body pump, so I wonder if Turbo Fire is similiar at all. Maybe I need to look into circuit…

I just bought Walmarts "Body Fortress' brand, but it seems very caloric at 270 per two scoop serving - so, I'll be watching for responses. To cut the cals down, I only use 1/2 dose.
-
Ok - you sound pretty sure of this advice - specifically, what should one eat, or not eat?
-
Yup - you're right - it is trial and error and what works for one, may not work for another. I also do really well with low-carb and some good carbs. My body seems to really like low-carb, and I think its because I have diabetes in my family. Anyhow - keep up the good work! And by the way, what are some of your favorite…

Wow - all of this info is so interesting, guys, thanks! I am definitely intrigured with the HIIT idea, although I've tried TurboFire HIIT workouts and generally do not like them. But running HIIT fashion I would consider. I am always afraid to switch things up because I have set a personal record this time with my fitness…
-
Wowee - just looked at your pics, hot thing! How did you lose it all? (I'm also struggling with my tummy, so I'll be watching your responses)
-
Thanks guys - I've been doing more reading and I see that weight training is necessary while in a deficit at least for the sake of keeping what you have. So - I will keep up the resistance training I've been doing and continue my beloved cardio. So, does anyone have any recommendations as to what types of resistance…

Thanks guys - but, I was thinking my hubby and I could "share" the music (we only have one music player to share) if we got some kind of speaker. Maybe he could wear one bud and I could wear one bud? LOL... Then we'd have to run like siamese twins, so that wouldn't work.....

Isn't amazing that these little jewels just grow on trees for free???? I mean - dirt, a tree, and hundreds of juicy red apples - evididence of God!

HE has been experiencing weakness during his workouts this week - actually logging less reps (12 instead of 15, for example) and I suspect that the reason is that he is not getting enough protein.

So, what is this 'magical' diet for making abs in the kitchen? My hubby and I are both struggling with midsection fat.
