Ladies that are losing 2lbs/week, what is your secret?
Just wondering, those who are losing consistently, what are you doing? How many calories per day? How many/what type of workouts per week? What are you eating? What are you NOT eating?

Are cheat/spike days a mistake? Scared to try it
I am finally on a roll after a major 4 month setback in my weight loss journey. I am toying with the idea of having one day a week as a calorie "spike" day, or "cheat" day, mainly for two reasons: 1) so I do not overly feel deprived and cause myself another tailspin of failure, and 2) to avoid my metabolism adjusting to…

Turbo Fire HIIT workouts - I don't like them - anyone else?
I don't get a good workout when I do them - I just did HIIT 20, and only burned 150 calories. :/ I can't do all the moves, so I follow the low impact, and I just don't get a good calorie burn. Is it just me? What else could I do to replace these in her schedule? If I did my own HIIT on my treadmill on her HIIT days, would…

How long does alcohol bloat last and is it permanent?
HI all - I have been disgusted all week because of my scale, and I realized today after obsessing all morning that maybe its due to the alcohol I had last Saturday. I drank lots of tequila (with salt!) and lots of beer. It was the first time I had drank in over a month, so I overdid it. Anyhow - what I am wondering is if…

Fasting after a "cheat" day?
I talked to a friend today who has an all-out cheat once per month, than he fasts the following day and only has water and vegetable juice in order to spread the "cheat" day calories across two days to soften the blow a bit. Does anyone have any opinions about this tactic?

Treadmill in living room - how to hide or make less tacky?
We do a lot of entertaining. I have a large family room that I want to put our treadmill in. Any ideas on how we can incorporate into the decor so that it doesn't look quite so tacky?

Circuit training vs. Interval training??
What is the difference between the two, and how do you utilize these two different forms of exercise? I am looking for something to mix my current routine (which is mostly 5-6 days of cardio, either Zumba or turbofire)

How do the 5k t shirts run? First one coming up
Do the 5k t shirts that people get run big, small? I am a ladies size 12 - should I get a large or x-large?

I feel very overwhelmed with exercise, am I overdoing?
Lately I feel so overwhelmed with my exercise - like I don't have time for anything else. I do 5-6 days a week of cardio, usually 1 hour per session. I keep thinking I could probably drop a few days of the cardio in exchange for some resistance training, but I am so afraid of losing that "edge" on my calories that the…

Anyone who has lost 50+ lbs, how long did it take? And
And did you track your weight? If so, I would be interested in seeing your weekly/monthly weigh ins during the time period you lost the weight. Thanks!

Please recommend helpful books, and how about these?
I want to build up my library of knowledge in the subject of fitness and how the body works. I was thinking about getting "The New Rules of Weight Lifting" for women, and the Tom Venuto book, "The Body Fat Solution". Also, I am interested in "Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle" but is that an eBook only, or can you get hardcopy…

What is "water weight", exactly?
I lost 10 lbs last week - yes, 10!! Now, I am very overweight, and also am just starting out (after a long 3 month relapse) so I ate somewhere between 1200 and 1400 cals each day, and ate the exercise calories, too. I know that someone is going to say "that is just water weight" so my question is, what is water weight, and…

Can you collect your ex. cals and eat them all in one day?
I have searched to see if anyone has asked this and couldn't find a query that would grab any relevant posts. If you are set to a 1200 calorie diet - could you "save up" your exercise calories for a once a week cheat meal, or an "off" day? You would then net under 1200 calories most days of the week, however, you would…

Whats your favorite Zumba 2 for Wii song/routine?
I think I am going to try to make my own playlist tonight, so I wanted some opinions first. :)

Favorite yoga pants for running/zumba, ladies?
I am in search of some nice yoga type pants for running and zumba - my current faves are Bebe Sport yoga pants - they are flared at the bottom, so they're cute, and they have a band at the waste that you can fold down or up if you are feeling self concious or daring, depending on how you're feelin' that day! Any…

Where do you get your songs/mp3s for your ipod?
Where is the cheapest and most reliable for good quality place for songs for an ipod? I hate getting burned and ending up with a bad quality song, or an imitation, or a radio edit when you really want the album version complete with all the powerful f-bombs - I'm sorry - I'm a grown up and if there is a swearword, I want…

Signed up for first zumba class - what should I expect?
I start soon.... what should I expect? I have experience with Turbofire and step aerobics back in the day. It is a one hour class - should I assume it is advanced, since it is so long? Thanks for your advice in advance. :)

Need fashion tips for hiding 15 lbs holiday weight gain
I have gained 15 + lbs this holiday season which is a major setback since I just recently lost 50 lbs. :( I had a family tragedy that I can put some of the blame on, so I am trying not to be too hard on myself. I plan on getting back on track to lost this 15 plus the remaining 30 I have to lose, but in the meantime, is…

Weighted gloves during turbo fire? Effective?
Does anyone do Turbo Fire with the weighted gloves? I am on week 5, and the workouts are getting easier for me - was wondering if adding the gloves would help increase the intensity, and also - wondering if it will tone these flabby arms of mine. Anyone with experience with these gloves, I"d love to hear from you.

I would like to hear from people who have lost then gained b
I'm not talking about playing with 15 lbs over and over... I am talking, you lost 50 or so... then had a stall that turned into a gainback of 15-20. How do you get back your motivation? How do you not let that 15 lbs turn into 20, 30, then your whole loss down the drain only to find yourself starting all over. :(

First P90X - felt like a fail. Need hope!
Well I did P90X 1 and it just about killed me. I can't do any of the pull ups. I can't even do ONE push up. There really is very little modification help for ladies like me who can barely do one push up on knees. I wonder if I just simply am not ready for P90X yet. I am not in horrible shape - just lost 50 lbs and have…

What is the point of weight training while you're in calorie
I read on here over and over how "women can't bulk up while they're in a calorie deficit" usually during the debates over how much muscle is attractive on a female.... So, what IS the point of a person lifting while they're in a calorie deficit? Is there any benefit for it, or is it a waste of time until you get into…

Chin-ups - have never done one in my whole life - will I eve
I just reviewed vid 1 of P90X and I see it involves pull-ups. I know I can modify by using a chair - but I just wonder, will I ever be able to do one normally? Never in my whole life, at all the different weights or levels of fitness I"ve been, have I EVER been able to do a chin-up. Not even ONE. Is it actually possible to…

p90x andb 5k training - crazy to do both?
I am training for a 5k and I also want to start p90x. How would I work the running into the p90x schedule? Should I replace p90x cardio days with my running? And probably NOT run on days I work legs in p90x? Any thoughts? Am I crazy to try to do both? Thanks in advance. (39 year old Female, for what its worth)

Ladies: 2 Favorite P90X vids?
I get plenty of legwork with my cardio sessions and I am interested in balancing it out with some P90X dvds that target upper body. I am wondering what 2 dvds are the favorites among women as I am female and want to develop some sexy upper body muscles. I have access to the p90X system and have 2 days I could fill in with…

Plateau survivors - advice needed - very discouraged
I would like to hear from other people who have suffered a plateau many pounds before goal... I have lost 50 and have 35-40 more to go, and for the last month have been playing with the same 5 lbs. Now, its partly my own fault for not doing what I should be doing for getting burned out on exercise, indulging in food and…

Treadmill in basement or garage?
I am looking for the right place to keep my treadmill and am looking into our basement vs garage. Our basement is old (stacked stone walls) and a little damp and musty - air quality is probably not the best. Our garage is unattached to the house and not heated - I will be using the treadmill during winter months. Any pro's…

Weight has not changed, but I feel bigger and scale has not
I've lost 50ish lbs through diet and exercise 6 days a week. The last month, I admit I have slacked on my working out and have been only getting to it once or twice a week. You know how they say you shouldn't be upset if your scale doesn't show a loss, because you could still be getting smaller but exchanging fat for…

HItting your all time lows, then gaining back slightly?
Does this happen to anyone else? During my journey through my goal of 85 lbs to lose, whenever I hit a new "low" for myself, it seems like I have a hard time staying there permanently at first. I get on the scale, see my new low, then the next day I am back up a pound or two. Then for a week, I go up one, down one, up…

When you KNOW you screwed up, do you weigh in?
Well, I KNOW I am over calories for today by AT THE VERY LEAST 500 cals, and I am probably being hopeful with that number. I had my hubby hide the scale from me so I can't weigh in tomorrow. I"m just curious how others handle that? After a calorie binge, do you weigh in the next day, or purposely avoid it?
