I get plenty of legwork with my cardio sessions and I am interested in balancing it out with some P90X dvds that target upper body. I am wondering what 2 dvds are the favorites among women as I am female and want to develop some sexy upper body muscles. I have access to the p90X system and have 2 days I could fill in with them.

I love Ab RipperX and the Yoga video!
  • I would suggest chest and back. My favorite is Kenpo though. Happy X-ing!
  • I love the shoulders and arms. Also the back and biceps workouts. Another really great video is the Kenpo. It is more cardio based but wonderful for your arms and abs. It is also a lot of fun. Hope this helps.

Everybody male or female will tell you that their fave P90X upper body workout is Shoulders & Arms. I love it. My second favority is back and biceps, however the Chest & Back DVD is going to help you with upper body and core strength. You should do a back workout for balance.

Does anyone know how to use myfitness pal in connection with p90x? I love them both, but it seems like there is no way to add p90x exercises to the daily tracker.

This is one of those places a HRM really does make a difference.

They are so varried by personal fitness that it is best to wear a HRM and get your burn on!

Fav videos - Kempo (weighted gloves helps to tone the arms, chest and back) and shoulders - good luck

The best way is to use a heart rate monitor. Though for lifting days, they are worthless. Other then that you just have to ball park it. Everyone is different when it comes to calories burned. Which is why I don't use the tracker thing unless I input my own.

Thanks!! I agree about the HRM when it comes to cardio exercises, but there has to be a better (scientific) method for lifting days. Yes, it may still be ball park, but height, weight, time spent, age, etc. should create some type of calculation, right?

    Use a heart rate monitor.
Go to Exercise tab, then enter P90X Cardio X, a message will pop up that says it's not in the database, towards the bottom of the screen click on: Can't find what you're looking for? Add an exercise to the database. Then add in the name, time, and calories burned.

Will do, Thanks!! Any ideas about weight lifting days?
  • Ab Ripper and Calisthenics... I like the yoga but find 90 minuets of yoga to be quite intense.

You would use the same formula above for weight days as well. You will burn less calories on those days, but you can still log in the name of the DVD workout and the burn.
