The only fats you should be concerned about going over are poly saturated fats. Everything else is relative :)

If you eat less calories then your body uses in a day no matter where they come from you will lose weight. However, if you eat a completely unhealthy diet your body will suffer over time. I terms of weight loss, i eat a Bacon, Cheese Burger w/fries 4 times a week but im always under my maintenance calorie load ...even if…

Get a caliper and measure your body fat %. I can go down 4% body fat but i weigh the same. However, it's doubtful you'd put on significant muscle with vlcd.

Your BMR is ~1750/day so you should be eating at least 1750 calories. If you're moderately active your body prob. uses between 2600-2800 calories a day. If you eat between 1850-2000 every day you'll still lose weight (1.5lb/week). Don't go over 2000 calories more then once a week (maximum intake of 2500 calories on a day…

Do not see a counselor, you need to a see a Psychologist that specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy and/or shaping. Believe it or not, I don't think your case will be incredibly difficult to address. 10-12 sessions and you should be able to eat vegetables (you will still feel uneasy) as long as there isn't other…

They don't. Most ppl scramble with milk and butter. When calculating calories, a lot of times i use the raw ingredient calories + 3/4 the calories of the butter etc

For a 5k outdoor run my hr stays around 177 for the last 10 min and i still have energy after. When i do 1 minute sprints i hit 194-200 all the time. After 3-4 of those im toast. Im 27, i asked my doctor and he said some people naturally have higher heart rates, especially those who are tall with a large frame. He said if…

+1 for that :)

Starvation mode is not a myth it's just over stated and grossly exaggerated just like 'cellulite' or 'weight loss success' or 'bmi' or 'sugars are killing us' or really everything to do with weight loss. If you eat way below TDEE - 50%, after 6 or 7 weeks your metabolism is going to slow down but your body will adapt. You…

I can agree with some parts of your post & not others. The psychology part yes, the against eating more calories no. If you do the math he is between 1700 - 2000 calories below his maintenance! TDEE -55% to -62%, your body will react after so long. TDEE - 40% max should be your limit for long term success. You will still…

Congratulations of being strong and over coming MANY boundaries in your personal life especially with the lack of family support! It just shows how dedicated you are to yourself! I truly hope you feel wonderful about yourself! As for your mom -- people get set in their ways. It doesn't matter whether it is being obese,…

I just skimmed through this but i have to partially agree. I'm 6'2, 222lb (~23% body fat) and 27. I switched from eating 1600calories/day to 2000 calories/day with HIGH FATS & PROTEIN and less then 100g/carbs a day and i've gotten off the plateau. If you eat consistently to far below your TDEE say TDEE -60%, eventually…

I weigh myself every 3-4 days. It is normal for your body to fluctuate QUITE A BIT on a daily basis. I use body fat % instead of my effect on gravity as a indicator LOL I drop in spurts as well. I be doing really well for 6 or 7 days and have no noticeable change but by day 9 or 10, i'll be down 1% or 2-3lb on the scale.
-
I can fluctuate up to 3.1kg for a couple of days with no noticeable bloating or water retention. Couple of things to keep in mind 1) Eating -40% below your TDEE for long periods will result in fluid retention 2) Your calorie intake may be enough to maintain your weight 3) Exercise does not equal weight loss. If you're not…

I'm 27, hovering around 220 (23% body fat), 6'2 and same build as you. Your BMR is a lot higher than 1978/day -- it's closer to ~2100/day. 1200-1500 will plateau you any day of the week. The 500-750/day of exercise, you need to subtract ~100-110 per hour so if that's over an hour 400-650/day. Saying this, your body uses…

The data transfer only works if you buy the optional thingy for your computer...

Depends what you set your lifestyle at. I set mine at an active level so i dont log anything besides exercise. If you set yours at sedentary, id suggest changing it if you do say an hour of laundry and house chores

Most of your sodium intake doesnt come from salt... Switch to lower sodium foods & sauces. It's the bbq sauces, salad dressings, breads, anything breaded and pasta that have high sodium. Cut out those and use sea salt in home cooking...

Go into your settings & change your diary to public. Let's see why you are over & if it is a problem. Im waaay over my sugar per day but i run 40 miles +35g/fibre per day so it doesnt matter. All my sugar comes from fruit.

If you calculate your body fat %, google calorie intake calculator and use your body fat % in the formula
-
You can google formulas for calorie intake. I figured out your rough body fat % and took into account age, gender, height, weight and a good rate of loss. Calories burned is over estimated by about 15%
-
1) eat 1650 calories a day on your workout days 2) eat 1500 calories a day on days you dont workout This will allow -8lb/month Google how to measure body fat %. Calculate that and continue w/ new calorie count. You should see a 0.3% drop per 7 days.
-
The machines are a ROUGH estimate. The machines are 10-20% off the actual value unless you are an average body fat % that the formula is based on. If you are not in shape, take 15-20% off the calories shown. E.g. 200 = 160 or 400 = 320 Calories. You also have to keep in mind, the calories shown for food is a ROUGH estimate…

You need to tell him outright that it really hurts your self esteem when he does things like that. Confront him and stand your ground. Sometimes people don't realize they are being jerks because to them, something like weight has never been an issue or concern. If he cares about you, he will apologize and make you feel…

How tall are you, what is your current weight, goal weight & age. How much exercise do you get everyday or per week & how much of what type? You may be eating too little, you may be eating too much (e.g. if you're 5 foot 2) or you are losing inches and gaining muscle so you dont see it on the scale...
-
If you're not hungry dont worry about it. That 200-400 is over estimated if it's based on a machine anyways. Just make sure you aren't over eating at breakfast instead.
