  • I've found, unfortunately, that if I consume my exercise calories I don't lose but if I were you, I'd experiment and see what works for you--we are all so different. If I want to consume more than my set amount, I just make sure that I burn them off with extra exercise.
  • Welcome to this wonderful group of ladies who will be supportive and friendly, and will help keep you on track, and help you forgive yourself when you don't. This is by far the most successful I've been and I owe it in part to my MFP friends. Use us! :flowerforyou:
  • That would be my guess, too. A hassle, but necessary to be accurate. And not a stupid question at all!
  • Wow. This is why I love MFP. I would agree with almost everything I read, especially that the tools we're using require consistent use to build up. I'll add one more thing to the list, and this has helped me a lot. If you were going down the highway and had a flat tire, what would you do? You'd stop, fix it (or get it…
  • Welcome! Add me too
  • I can only ditto what my friends have said. I've done WW, too, and this has been much better for me. Yay for technology that keeps us on track and connected to each other. Feel free to add me as a friend, too. We are all in this together!:flowerforyou:
  • I bit the bullet and bought a fitbit yesterday. I am quite a geek and think it's going to be great fun--okay, that's a stretch, maybe I should have said a great help!
  • Tammi, you don't want to hold your arm out of the water while you swim? LOLOLOL
  • I log in daily, too, and find it helps that my friends here expect me to do it! I've been here since July and this is the first time in my life--after many attempts--to really change my lifestyle. Welcome and congrats on the weight loss!
  • I read the first two Fifty Shades books but never finished the third. My sons are grown and out of the house, but my older one still had a house key and came in one day (supposedly he was over there mowing...) to find the second book on my coffee table and felt the need to take a picture and post it on Facebook with the…
  • What a great idea! I get quite a few free books for my Kindle, but then go back and have no idea what they are about. Thanks for the tip on goodreads.com. By the way, I'm reading "Mistress" by James Patterson. Well, I'm trying to. My husband is very quiet and loves to watch sports but whenever I start reading he…
  • I'll add my welcomes to the rest, and I agree, this is a great group of women who keep my motivation high. I've added you as a friend, too :)
  • Any movement is burning calories! In my (very humble) opionion, saying that you can't "count" pedometer steps is like saying that it doesn't count to put pennies in a savings account. I wear a pedometer every day and my baseline for a day is around 6,000. I've measured my stride and know that I have to walk about 2250…
  • I will be very eager to hear what your dietitian says! And welcome to our group--it's a great group of women and very supportive.
  • No change in the scales is so frustrating! Any change in how your clothes fit? And you are right: GIVING UP IS NOT AT OPTION!
  • I'm in a wonderful group called Over 50 Ladies and have found much encouragement and support from friends there. Feel free to join us and/or to friend me!
  • Hi, I am in a group of over 50 Ladies--you are way younger than me, but this group has been a godsend. I hope that you can find a group that you feel comfortable in and can use it to help you. By the way, my son is getting married in seven months and that's what got me started! Congrats and good luck. Feel free to friend…
  • Feel free to add me, too. I've been here since July and have found it EXTREMELY helpful to have encouragement and support and to be able to GIVE the same. :flowerforyou:
  • It is always nice to see new women in our group! I love reading about you all and getting to know more people. MFP has definitely been a motivator for me and I hope that it is for you, too. So many of us have the same stories...and we may never all get exactly to our goals, but we're getting closer together  It is a…
  • Just sent you a friend request, Terri
  • Welcome to the group, Debbie. We are happy, happy, happy to have you.
  • BEST.FEELING.EVER! Congrats!:flowerforyou:
  • Wow, I loved reading about all of you. I'm 56, a native Texan (born and raised in the Panhandle, now live in Fort Worth) with the Love of My Life, my husband of 8 years. We have a daughter, who has four kiddos, and two sons. Our older son is a firefighter and engaged to be married in May 2014, so we are all excited about…
  • It's fun to see where everyone is from, too
  • WOW! SO impressed, and am given encouragement to do well tomorrow at a birthday party for my future daughter in law. There will be alternative things to eat but even so it will not be easy. And my hubby is a great support. You keep hanging in there and use MFP for support and you'll find it here! Way to go! I'm right…
  • Thanks, everyone. Some of your names I knew, but some I didn't, so it's nice to see real names. I've been in the car all day long and was so frustrated because I couldn't get to my apps on my phone to see what everyone had posted. Hope you're all having a great weekend!
  • Oh heck, no. We are ALL broken, and it is evident by our presence here. Hang in there.
  • I can only add to what's already been said. For me, it helps knowing that every day is a new day. The first few days are always SO hard but after that it gets more routine and I've found that as long as I track, I can have some junk so I don't feel deprived. Welcome to our little community!
  • I'm going to add you ladies, too, if you don't mind!
