I am a physical therapist and therefore slightly biased. A lot of time, it's hip strength that is the issue when you are having pain in the knee. I followed Hal H's "beginner 10K training schedule" and it was completely do-able! I finished my first in 72 minutes with a lot of walking because it was a million degrees outside, but I finished it!

After each of my 3 kids, it took a good year before I thought I had a shape (other than round) again! It will happen, you just have to be patient and consistent....

I'm in the same boat. I have been tracking for about 2 1/2 weeks and exercising 4-5 times per week (Insanity workouts and running 3+ miles) and haven't lost more that 2 lbs! But, my clothes are fitting differently. My face is thinner. I have more energy. Stick with it- it's a marathon,not a sprint!

I have been afraid of P90X... but I really have liked Insanity. They are hard-core and incorporate a lot of sport specific stuff, including plyometrics. If you stick to calories, you are sure to shed some pounds! Good luck.
