Hi there! I'm not "from" Alabama, but I've lived in Huntsville now for quite a few years. Does that count?

Hi all! I reached my goal weight earlier this spring, and have been struggling ever since to figure out this whole maintenance thing. At the moment, I'm still loosing and I don't really need to any more. I'm slowly bumping up my calorie allotment so hopefully it'll settle down soon. I've lost 42 or so pounds in the last…

Well folks, I had to bail on this with just one day left in the challenge. i've done something to my right shoulder and putting that much pressure on it for 5 minutes just isn't a good idea. I feel pretty good that I almost made it the whole way, and as soon as the shoulder heals, I'll start incorporating a plank into my…

Jescamp9481 - I'm doing the one that's just one plank a day, but I'd think you can do whichever one you want and just track your progress here. Good luck! I finished 4:30 last night. Tonight is my last night!

Made it through the second 4 minute plank last night.

There's a lot of good information here! Samstan101, I have wondered about exactly what you describe, so I don't ever eat back all my calories from a hike, just some of them. I will definately check out the link imaginaryglac pointed out - sounds like that would be really useful!
-
I made it through the 4 minute plank! Just 3 more days to go....

Looks like everybody else has given up on this. I went on a hiking weekend and after long hikes all day I just couldn't make myself plank at night too. I tried to pick it back up last night, but only made it through about 2:45 before my left shoulder starting to really hurt. I'll try again tonight.

I guess it depends on how strenuous a hike and if you're carrying a pack and that sort of thing. I often wear my HRM when I hike. According to it, I burn something like 2000+ calories on a 3 or 4 hour hike. I failed to wear it either day this past weekend, though, when I hiked around 8.5 miles a day in the mountains. I…

I skipped last night - just couldn't get to it so last night was my "rest night" I guess. I'm going to try to pick it up tonight. We'll see.

I made it throught the 3:30 plank last night. Whew. Am I the only one posting on here now?
-
Good for you! Glad you had a good time at the wedding.
-
Oh and I forgot to mention - did the second 3 minute plank last night. If I remember the chart right (it's not in front of me at the moment) I have to bump up the time again tonight :( Wish me luck. Last night was really hard, but then I'd also gone to the gym and done a bunch of arm work earlier in the evening. My arms…

good luck IReed89! I think you've got a good idea - incorporate shorter planks into your workouts to keep up the core strength. Like you, I've certainly seen a big difference from that wobbly first attempt at the beginning. I've considered dropping it, too, but to be honest my daughter and I are both doing it and I don't…

AnnACnd- glad you found it! I wasn't sure anybody else was doing this anymore. I did 3 minutes last night. It was tough, but going into it I was sure I'd not make it through, but I did it! I'm feeling like this may be doable after all!

I hit the bottom of my target weight range about a month ago and upped my calories by 100. Then I promptly went on a weekend vacation (up 4 pounds, then lost back 3 of them), then there was Easter (won't know the damage from that for awhile - I only weigh on Saturdays). Next is another weekend away and then my birthday and…

I am NOT looking forward to tonight. 150 never did seem to get much easier!
-
I managed to get through the 150 minute one last night. It was very hard, but I'm trying to convince myself that it seemed as hard as 90 did just a little while ago, so this is still doable. I don't know though :) Today is a rest day, thank heavens!
-
Did the first 120 seconds last night! It was hard, dont' get me wrong, but not as bad as I thought it would be. I think the jump to 90 toughened me up or something :)
-
Last of the 90 second planks done...I'm kind of dreading tonight's 120. Although I do have to say that the 90 seconds, while still hard, was actually a little easier last night. Maybe this is doable after all.
-
I'm up to 90 seconds and BOY is it hard! I have no idea how I'll be able to bump that up to 120!
-
My daughter and I started this last night, so I'm in! I'm trying to convince my husband to join us as well, but he's not very enthusiastic about it. We'll see...

Hello and welcome! Feel free to add me as a friend if you like.

Welcome! It definitely is harder to loose after 50 isn't it? But it IS doable. I've been at this since the middle of last July and this morning when I weighed in, I'm less than a pound from my goal weight! This is a great group of supportive ladies so you've made a great start by joining here! Keep us posted and hang in…

Hi there and welcome! I always eat most of mine back, but it does depend on what method you are using. This article might help: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/818082-exercise-calories-again-wtf

Welcome, Frmvt, laughingladyb, and ptodd! I've found this site and particularly the women I've met in this group to be great support and encouragement. Feel free to add me as a friend...I don't check the group forums as much but I look at my home feed often so it's easier to keep caught up there. Ruth

Though I've seen threads on here talking about this, I don't even know what a 30 day shred really is...
