I concur on the second hand. I have a second hand Singer and my friend has a second hand Kenmore. Each has to be at least 30 years old, and they both work like dreams. I don't trust that the new ones are built that sturdy.

It depends on how much you have to lose. When I was a lot heavier I was losing 8-10 pounds/month. Now that I am at the high end of healthy I am lucky to lose 1-2 pounds.

Totally. I don't think it's a bad thing either, since our bodies are using a few more calories while trying to destroy us via uterus. I eat a few more healthy snacks during TOM and still lose weight after the bloating. Don't ignore your body!

Well, I've had 4 today and the day's not over yet! But really, I eat at least two every day, and I ALWAYS eat the yolk. And I've lost over 50 pounds and gotten SO MUCH healthier doing it. Don't waste the yolks, dudes.
