I'm in. IDK if I can lose 10, but I would LOVE to try. My actual goal is to hit 23% BF in 2015, and I think that if I can get to 130 by V day I'd be much closer to that goal (right around 24% BF). Today's weight: 140.5 5'5"

Anyone looking for a friend is welcome to friend me. I've already friended some of you on here. I've been on MFP off-and-on (happy to say more on that off) since 2011. I lost nearly 50 lbs here and have maintained over that time. Making a bit of a push these days to finally get to the weight that I set out to hit when I…

I'm always up for more friends. I've sent requests to some of you, but if there's anyone I missed looking for more pals for encouragement, please add me! :)

sent friend request. you are among people who will help motivate and will in turn rely on you to motivate them as well. For me the later keeps me going more than the former. Welcome to MFP!

try out the 5x5 lifting program. don't be intimidated by the meathead guy who developed it and others who use it. I have been going at it more slowly (I do 1-2 days a week, not the recommended 3) and I love it. It's very time efficient and you can get everything in, in less than 30 minutes each time at the gym.

HECK YES!!!!!!!!!! Great idea and I am certainly NOT going to gain weight over the holidays. Actually the gift I plan to give myself for christmas is to hit maintenance after 2 years of working to lose weight. Doing this!!!!!!!!

I use HIIT a few days a week, but there are benefits to longer duration workouts as well. I would recommend replacing one or two workouts a week but not more than that. Remember to warm up and cool down, so you're looking at 15-20 minute workouts at least anyway.

Given that I'm showing a weight today tells me that I've probably lost but it's hidden by bloat. This ilittle challenge was just what I needed to regain my focus. Officially 4 lbs down and maybe even a bit…

I weigh everyday and before you all give me a hard time  .... I have found that when I don't I can be really disappointed because I've worked so hard and a little thing like water retention, lactic acid from a hard workout, or a big meal the night before can appear as though I've not lost when actually I have. When I…

That's a great story. You're so close to finishing the c25k and you have hit on something that plagues many runners (including myself). The get up and go is so hard, but then you're right once you're into it, it feels so good. And eventually you will surprise yourself cause you'll find that you are craving a run and can't…

My answer: I've started a 2 week "ultimate frisbee bootcamp" with some friends (3-4 days a week for 2 weeks, plus our ultimate games). It's super hard, and I'm still sore after 2 days, but I know it's going to bring amazing changes to my body, I can already feel it. After the 2 weeks is up, some of us are going to continue…

This thread is kinda quiet so I thought I would check-in and post a little question for anyone who wants a little chatter. How's your week going? What's one thing you're doing that you feel will make you successful on your journey and you want to keep up?

Here's to a GREAT first weigh-in! Hit the 1.5 lb goal after being plateaued for over a month. Gotta love a little competative fire! :drinker: Starting weight --- 153 July 30th -- 151.5 August 6th -- August 13th -- August 20th -- Next week I wanna put a number up that's out of the 150s and hit my "healthy BMI" again! Great…

depends on how much I exercise. Basically anything under 300 calorie burn I try not too, anything above that I try to eat back about 1/2. Also, depending on your settings makes a difference about whether or not you should eat them back. Some people like to set their calories low (like 1200) and eat back their exercise so…

oooh, oooh, ooooooh, I'm in too! Been here a while (1.5 years) and have been slow and steady losing weight. Getting close to my goal weight but been plateaued for about a month (mostly cause I was on vacation and not really counting). Need this push to lose my last 12 lbs, and after that my focus will not be the scale, but…

wow, what a success story. Thanks for sharing

none of these are new but I love to run to them: Nearly the entire Thriller album Superstitious by Stevie Wonder I will survive by Gloria Ganor (cause every time I run I feel like if I survive it, I can get through anything)

this post was too good just to say "bump." I've gotta say "hellz yeah! I'm totally making me one (or two, or three) of those TONIGHT!"

Here are the 2 things that have helped me beat that "OMG, I Am SO starving all the time feeling": 1. eat more protein. base your diet mostly on protein with some fruits and veggies. I eat lots of protein (some lean, some not so much). When I'm hungry the first thing I go for is protein. I find that carbs make me hungry…
