  • Military diet? Never heard of an official diet named that - but I can tell you I was so physically active when I was in the military I ate pretty much anything I could get my hands on because I burned it all off so quickly. That was part of my downfall - AFTER getting out ;) Anyone who names a low-cal diet "military"…
  • I like cauliflower but I agree it does not serve as a substitute for anything other than itself. I don't believe anyone who tries to convince me otherwise. I made cauliflower "mashed potatoes" for thanksgiving once and thought my husband would divorce me for a minute there... "thanks for ruining thanksgiving" - he was…
  • Wow - are you all forum noobs? The OP never even came back to reply. "She" was just trolling and you all fell for it. Good grief.
  • You can get a great digital scale on Amazon for around $10 that will tell you measurements in g, kg, oz & lb
  • There may be things more discreet but they aren't going to be as accurate. I think the fact that the biggest loser contestants use it maybe give this an unappealing vibe for some people to want to wear it - but before it was popular on that show, it was worn by a lot of really fit people too just to track their calories…
  • Yep now that I have given it a few days I really like adding the food here. The library is pretty extensive! Makes things easy - and I do love the bar code scanner.
  • It's ok - really the MFP food database is pretty enormous compared to BMF so it might actually be less work if I do it this way anyway. So far having them linked up seems to be working great. Looks like there is about a 5 minute lag or so with the data coming over but really that's not terrible.
  • Don't beat yourself up about it - you're here - so let's do this! I've also fallen off the wagon a few times. But I've really hit the point this time that I feel like it's now or never. I'm just going to keep moving no matter what - and keep logging no matter what. That is what keeps me honest.
  • I just ate 4 Girl Scout cookies while reading this thread. Wonder how many chemicals were in those? Ok gotta go log :D
  • Really the discussion about "chemicals" being in Shakeology is all semantics. WATER is a chemical. Everything has chemicals in it.
  • It's basically a meal replacement protein shake with extra vitamins. You could do that yourself with any protein shake - and then take a multivitamin. They don't taste too fabulous IMO. And last I checked it was around $4 a packet - probably more these days. I don't think there is anything wrong with it other than the…
  • I think the way BMF figures out your calorie goal makes more sense then MFP. I knew that right away when MFP tells me 1200 was what I should be eating daily - - - ummm no. BMF put me at 1500 which is STILL putting me at a 1000 deficit if I reach my burn of 2500 which is usually pretty easy to do with a bit of effort. So I…
  • Ok so - I relinked them since I could not get it to unlink properly for some reason. I guess I don't mind entering here vs there. I just would prefer to do everything in one place. Oh well! Anyone know how often MFP sends your food data over to BMF? Is it every time you enter? Is it at the end of the day when you click…
  • I'm going to try to add ALL of you :D. I just received my BMF on Friday and love it so far. I had an older version of the BodyBugg about 3 years or so ago - didn't really stick with it. The user interface wasn't as user friendly and I didn't have any fancy phone app to keep me motivated - I find that really helps. I'm a…
  • When I had the BodyBugg I handwashed it in the sink with warm soapy water and then would let it air dry.
  • Could you tell me what model of Garmin you use? I'm amazed at how much technology has changed in about 5 years (which is about how long it has been since I really was serious about getting fit :P )
  • There are 3 sizes you can order and the website will give you inches so you can measure and then order the one that would best fit you.
  • Also I wanted to add that there are discount codes if you do a google search. Try checking retailmenot - I was able to find a 15% off code.
  • I had one back when they were called the BodyBugg - I actually just purchased a new one 2 days ago to help me keep track of calories spent. Because really all we can do without KNOWING - is to estimate. When I rejoined myfitnesspal and it wanted me to put in a calorie goal - I really wasn't sure what to put because I have…
  • I am exactly 5'2 if that counts as close enough :D - ok I might be rounding up A LITTLE!
  • I have at LEAST 50 pounds to lose but probably more
  • -40 windchill is extremely cold and extremely dangerous. I honestly cannot tell if this is a trolling post or if you are serious because this seems insane to me - and I'm from Iowa where it gets just as cold. Can't you buy a treadmill or something for when it is so cold out?
