  • How long do you bake it? I've never had warm avocado...
  • I put Trader Joe's Everything But the Bagel seasoning on my avocado toast. Sometimes with an egg, sometimes w/o. SO good and easy!
  • Anyone who runs is a runner... distance doesn't matter. Not everyone can run 13.1 or 26.2 miles. I've run 10 half marathons and did my 1 and done full marathon but even before my first marathon, just running 5K's, 10K's and 10 milers, I felt like a runner. Keep up the good work @haircuttergirl‌! You're a runner!
  • haha, no, not a stalker  I am on the race committee and have worked the finish line for the entire weekend for years. This will actually be my 10th year working it. SO much fun!!! Good Luck!!
  • I always hated running growing up despite being a soccer player. Now I love to run especially on Saturdays for my long runs with my group. There are days that the runs hurt and just don't feel good, whether it's my stride or my breath, but the feeling when I finish is amazing. I love the feeling of accomplishment! Is you…
  • I was just talking with a friend about this the other day. She suggested I look into it. I'm a little nervous and didn't know where to start, so this would be great! Count me in!!
  • You look fantastic and are such an inspiration!! Great job!!
  • Great post! It's always inspiring to have "that person" that you can relate to and use as encouragement when you think you can't go any further. Keep up the good work, you're doing aweseme!
  • You look great! I'm glad to see that you turned a negative health situation into a postive change instead of letting it get the best of you. Keep up the great work!
  • great job!! Keep up the awesome work!
  • Thanks for sharing, I think there are many of us who feel like this at varying levels. I'm glad you were strong enough to get treatment. :)
  • interesting topic... I just turned 39 and decided that I should find some challenges to complete before I turn 40. A full marathon has always been in the back of my mind and I decided that I will be doing the Marine Corps Marathon this October. Luckily I have a friend who will be training with me b/c the mental part of…
  • What an inspiration! You are awesome! Keep up the great work!
  • I could eat pizza every day.... I realize I can make pizza healthy, but if it didn't matter it would probably alternate b/w spinach and tomato and a greasy sausage and onion pizza....YUM!
  • My friends will tell you I can be a bit obsessive about weighing in, but I use it as a guide to how my day is going. I measure every couple of weeks. That is really the best place to see the results. I will hit a weight plateau but my measurements might still be shrinking. Remember: muscle weighs more than fat, but it…
  • I felt that way before as well, but as so many others have said, everyone is there for the same reason and we all had to make that decision to start. I was always afraid that I'd use a machine wrong, or look silly using a light weight. But I realize now that nobody cares... we tend to be more sensitive and think people are…
  • I love biggest loser and I love Courtney! I was bummed she was sent home because she is so positive and still has weight to lose. I'm glad that Brett addressed the eat more to lose because I think we all need to hear it, even if it's hard to really "get".... I agree that it would be great to see more of what really goes on…
  • Congratulations! That was a great post and I am sure many will benefit from it. It is hard to comprehend that eating more will actually help the weight come off, but it's true! Keep up the great work!
  • LA Fitness is a great gym. We belonged to the one in Roswell when we lived in GA. Check out your YMCA, and don't be shocked at the price they quote. They can be expensive but the YMCA has an open doors policy where anyone can apply for a lower membership rate. I've had single friends do that and they got about $25-30 off…

  • Congratulations on your 10lb loss! That's great! The last 5-10 are always the hardest and that's where I've been for awhile, which is what prompted me to joing MFP. Some things that have helped me are taking a good look at what I'm eating. When you lose weight, your body adjusts itself to the new weight and your caloric…
  • And I understand using a phone for your music or workouts and keeping it with you b/c of kids. That makes sense. But she walked in talking and kept on going. Once she got off the phone, she did increase her walking speed and then eventually jogged some. I guess she figured she could increase her effort off the phone! I…
  • I teach a spin class at the gym as well and had to ask a girl to refrain from texting during class. She picked it up at least 6 times in 50 min! All the instructors complain about her but never say anything. I had to though, after watching my students continually look at her when she would do it.
  • You look amazing! Congratulations!!
  • Heart Rate Monitors will be more accurate than a machine or MFP because, as it's been said already, it uses you personal stats. I know when I set up my first HRM, neglected to set it for female so the numbers were off. (It's a female watch....who would have thought? lol) Depending on the strength training you did, you can…
  • Hello and welcome! This is a great site - so positive and helpful. Feel free to add me!

  • Congratulations and keep up the good work! These are the best victories- it's great to realize that something you couldn't do, or struggled doing become easy without even thinking about it. It shows that you are on the right track and are keeping a positive attitude! Good for you!!
  • Love this! Here's another workout you can do at the office for a quick ab workout. http://www.womenshealthmag.com/fitness/standing-ab-workout
  • I agree with Missy, it depends on what you are comfortable in. I personally don't like how I look in a one piece but tankini's are just as comfortable. But some don't cover as much as others, so be sure to try them on and move around in them as if you were in the class (arms up, leg lifts etc.) so that you know how it…
  • Congratulations on your weight loss! As everyone else has said, interval training is the key to keeping the treadmill interesting. Adjusting the speed and incline will keep your body guessing and will push you. If you want to improve your 5k time, intervals are the way to go. We have a local running store that does track…
  • I don't do triathlons but my husband does. Definitely check for a Tri Club in your area and see if they do a practice tri. The practice tri will help you set up your transition area to be efficient and then they typically do a "mini" tri so you can practice transitioning through the stages. That's where most participants…
