5-10 pounds to go!

Hello all!
I have been a member of my fitness pal since January 27 2011 and between then and the beginning of March I have lost 10 pounds! I am so happy with my results, but still would like to lose 5-10 more pounds (I weigh 136 now and I am 5'3'). HOWEVER, I have found that over the last few weeks I am stuck between 136 and 137 and I cannot push past it! Argh!
I know the last 10 are the hardest - does anyone have any suggestions?!
Thank you!

Hi There!
I was stuck at that weight in the middle of the fall (I am also 5'3"). I started intervals on the treadmill, which made a huge difference. I generally walk one minute, jog 3 minutes, and sprint all out for a minute. I do 5 times total. I also found that zig-zagging my calories helps, meaning 1,200 one day, maybe 1,350 the next, etc. Just switch it up a little. All of those things have helped me tremendously!0 -
Congratulations on your 10lb loss! That's great! The last 5-10 are always the hardest and that's where I've been for awhile, which is what prompted me to joing MFP.
Some things that have helped me are taking a good look at what I'm eating. When you lose weight, your body adjusts itself to the new weight and your caloric needs change. Compare what you are eating to your excercise. You may need to eat a couple hundred more calories, to effiently burn fat. It sounds counter productive, but it isn't. It's taken me a long time to understand that but our bodies get comfortable with what we eat and do.
Another thing I try to do is to change up my workouts so that I'm challenged. Add an extra set, increase the weight a little, or try a different machine. All these minor changes will make your body have to think/work a little harder.
I hope these tips help! Congratulations and keep up the good work. You can do it!0 -
Hey !
I am stuck in the same boat. i'm 5'4 been stuck at 128 last 6 weeks. My goal is to get back the weight I was before i quit smoking which was 115. I have added tons of cardio over the the last 2months(like 6/7 days a week hour an a half or more) I feel your frustration... But I tend to be impatient and I know it takes time for the last 10 to come off.0 -
Thank you for your quick responses! ... a few of you have mentioned zig-zagging my calories - do you suggest that I go over my daily calorie limit on some days and below on others OR just zig -zag on and below my total daily limit?0
