  • Oh- icing it regularly helps, as do certain stretches. If you put 'achilles tendon stretches' or something similar into youtube you'll get a lot of instructional videos showing you how to stretch out the tendon and the muscles around the are, which will help it recover quicker.
  • I have issues with my achilles too, usually due to running. In my experience, frustratingly, the only thing one can do is rest up and wait it out. Which is irritating, but of course better than damaging it permenantly. Still desperately hoping to hear of a better long term way to solve the problem though...
  • No- should I be? Do I need to consult a doctor first or can I go ahead and get one?
  • Hah- I just made a post about losing my chest: https://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1091847-losing-weight-from-breasts-need-motivation GO SHARE YOUR TROUBLES :P Seriously though, I almost think the issue is compounded when you're short. Like I already look pretty young as a result, adding flat chested to that is a…
  • Another 5"2 here just looking to tone up! I love running (generally 5-10Ks) and have just completed both the 30day shred and Ripped in 30. Also just started weight training and am now making my own little Jillian Michaels style circuit training program to keep myself challenged :) One thing that sucks about being small-…
  • Hi there :) So, this is probably really not what you want to hear, but you have an eating disorder (one that is fast becoming very serious). I don't say this because of whatever you might weigh or look like, or even merely due to your calorie consumption- but rather what sounds like severe body dysmorphia, genuine fear of…
  • Hey! I can kind of relate, my family are big meat eaters, and although I haven't eaten meat (although I do eat fish, which makes it a little easier) for about six years, for the first four years my family did make fun of me and my dad frequently just refused to believe that I had stopped eating meat, or acted kind of…
  • Thanks for the replies everyone! I do take a little comfort knowing its not forever... if I do achieve my goals and end up hating my body, it's probably not like I will never ever be able to have breasts again (I hope). Also helps knowing I'm not alone! I think a big issue for me is that when I was younger I used to covet…
  • A brave and different post, thanks for sharing :) Remember that you are NOT your weight. You are so much more than that. How the outside world percieves you is a wild card- there will always be positive and negative associations and assumptions that people make however you look. You cannot control that. What you can…
  • For me personally they just got worse, as did the restricting to combat them. And then eventually it took a lot of time and effort to slowly combat the learned behavior and undo years of misuse towards my body. I do know of people who's binges have decreased or stopped suddenly though- often through a change in…
  • Hey, First off- I have to say I really strongly agree with a lot of the practical advice given here already in terms of giving yourself a realistic calorie allowance, not being overly harsh or trying to make up one day's binge with a restriction and getting into a yo yo habit. But another thing I have to say is that BED is…
  • Hey, sorry to hear about the headaches, they can be really debilitating. My sister used to get awful migranes and went to many doctors for them- in the end it turned out that she was cleching her jaw and grinding her teeth all the time and it was somehow causing these awful tension headaches. She got a mouthpiece to stop…
  • Ah, right I guess 'stenght training' was the wrong term, sorry I'm new to this all! I just meant that I hadn't really toned and worked on strenghtening muscles. I'm considering starting lifting, but I'd like to stick with this form to build strength for a bit. What you said about the caloric suplus kind of makes sense,…
  • Wow, that's amazing, well done! You look so pretty in that pink and black outfit :D
