Thanks for your replies. It's so cold here a cup of matzo ball soup sounds perfect.

Gloria Vanderbilt makes jeans and pants that run a bit large and have spandex in them, so they're stretchy & very comfy. I always find mine at Costco, believe it or not. Lee does make nice jeans for those of us with tummies - I like those too.

I am 53 also. Gave birth to twins 16 years ago, and no, I'll never wear a bikini. Ever. There is no point in kicking yourself for the past. Can't change it, so you have to move forward. As we are getting older it's going to get harder to lose the weight. It's still (relatively) easy...you can control your portions, eat…

My fave - half a toasted bagel, covered with 1 tbl. peanut butter and sliced strawberries.

If you have your receipt, why don't you return unopened foods to the store where you bought them...things like chips, packaged cookies, etc., if they may be a trigger for you. Other than that I agree with everyone else - eat what you want in smaller portions. Weight/measure your food so you know exactly how much you're…

Great story! Congratulations on losing such a huge amount of weight, along with those meds. Way to go!

Trogolicious - you are my hero!

Agree with Knittnponder about letting the child lead the conversation. I'll share a funny story. My son, who was about 9 years old at the time, asked me what gay was. I answered him openly & honestly and was very proud of myself for not freaking out. I thought I handled it beautifully. Then I asked him why he asked. He…

You decide not to eat something because you'll be embarrassed for your MFPals to see it in your diary.

Dollar Store eye glasses, a tissue tucked into the sleeve.

I have it with a little bit of honey, cinnamon sprinkled on it, and chopped walnuts. Mix it all together, and it has a nice taste & good crunch.

You look younger, happier & healthier. Way to go!

Right there with you in Bucks County. It's snowing now! Yay!

Hey there - what a beautiful story. You can do this! You found a great forum for finding friends to motivate you, stick by you, and help you through this. Best wishes on your journey! I'm rooting for you!

Every day. It keeps me honest. If I don't weigh myself I fool myself.

I have the Weight Watchers scale too. It recently needed new batteries - I think it said "low" or something like that where the weight usually appears. The original batteries lasted a couple of years.

Seems like there aren't many options other than exercising when everyone else is asleep - very early morning hours or later at night or perhaps while they're at work. Or join a gym. Or work out with a friend at his/her house. Sorry - can't think of anything else.

Looking good girl! Congrats on your weight loss!

I used to do steaming only also. Now I'm into roasting. Butternut Squash - cut into 1" pieces, put in a bowl. Coat with 1 tbl. of veggie oil or olive oil, salt, pepper - then roast at 375 for about an hour. Brussels Sprouts & Carrots - stem & half the sprouts, cut carrots into small chunks. Toss with a couple tablespoons…

Fact: Christmas cookies are my weakness.

The point is lowering BMI category from Obese to Overweight. Congratulations OP - that is a huge NSV! You've done a great job.

Low carb - baby carrots & guacamole, roasted root veggies w a little bit of olive oil. Cottage cheese with honey, cinnamon & chopped walnuts. For a treat 1/4 cup low-fat ricotta cheese, sweetener of your choice and 1 tbl. chocolate chips. Yum. High carb - fruit is my fave. Or 1/2 multigrain bagel or Ezekial bread with…

Yes - I workout most days. 9 minute missions (described in the book M-F) and then one hour workouts later in the day. For me those are walks, bike riding, riding the stationary bike, exercise videos, etc.

Yes! I read the book at the end of July and have lost close to 40 pounds since then. I love the program and feel it's something I can follow for life. I just re-read the book too, since I kind of rushed through it the first time. Feel free to friend me - it's awesome having my low carb days together with friends. I've been…

Now I know what we're having for dinner tomorrow night. Sounds awesome - thank you!
