We were planning to CP next weekend, to mark our 20th anniversary, but he unexpectedly died last July. He was, like his mother, a feeder, and (back before I went strange) he subconsciously resisted my efforts to reduce my weight to healthy levels, while consciously being very supportive. Unfortunately this split behaviour…

If a gay man compliments me I assume he's just being polite, if a straight man does I really don't care.

It sounds like you're doing really well, and I hope you find a way to deal with the way your body is changing - hopefully including believing it is for the better - which it almost certainly is.

those are really major psychological victories luvlyjanny, starcollapsing, jess1992uga and littlemilli; and really positive steps you're putting in place there jess1992uga and emswanson. Thanks for sharing your victories :D

11 years, which was quite a lot when I was 21, but felt like noting when they died at 52

my favourite way to eat it is with a spoon...

Some digital scales remember their last weight and show it again if the new one is close - it makes them "appear" to be more accurate. The ones we had at work did this, which caused issues when two people were of similar weights. There are 2 "easy" ways around this - get someone else to stand on the scales in between,…

thanks for trying :)

anyone?

OK... so I can imagine where the grip is coming from... but how the heck do you get into that position...

I think I'll buy a couple kilos of steak, prawns, carrots and cauliflower and comfort eat my way through it. My partner died last year, so after 19 years with a day to focus on "how wonderful life is with you in the world", I've now got one that reminds me it's just "me, myself, I"

8O sounds like you're well out of that one.

I've managed to start eating potatoes again, and I've eaten enough to allow myself to go on the exercise bike once this week and once last week. While I've lost ground on bread I still occasionally have it as part of a pre-packed diet sandwich - and I'm still coping with flatbreads as part of a pre-packed lunch.

Thanks for saying so - I was determined to get some transitions in despite my lack of grip (you can see my hands were slipping even on the anchor [butterfly?]) and I failed to stay on long enough for a shoulder mount - If I'd completed the figurehead I might have had enough grip. Unfortunately, the UK's inability to deal…

This. Except you're not so much "putting you health at risk" as "killing yourself"
-
I just add exercise to the calorie value the bike says I did - it knows how many watts I was working for how long, so it's going to be as accurate as anything.

Awesome! Well done all of you.

twice each on two sets of scales each morning, then calculate the 7 day average from the first set of scales and log that to MFP

I mostly use water for but it dries too quickly. I use mighty grip wax sometimes, but I find I don't have the graduated grip, I'm either sticking or sliding OK for static stuff, but spins and transitions are impossiible I tried dew point once, but probably didn't use enough. I don't normally look this bad....…

My skin goes horribly dry in winter, so staying on the pole is hard enough... Extended anchor/butterfly to scorpion; superman to scorpion; inverted crucifix to figurehead. But the hardest trick I'm working on is "remembering a routine"

"I know what you did last summer"

Sorry to hear about the job, but wow - so very, very well done to anticipate and avoid the urge.

well done! and thanks for everone's replies

It terrifies me. I know my beliefs about what constitutes a healthy diet are unhealthy but I follow them unless I actively resist; I find myself thinking "I've beaten this, I don't need to log" - but that's usually an indication that I'm being aberrant.

I always buy flowers the first time I visit a woman's house. I guess I'm just old. I'm starting to rethink this given the number of times they've been embarrassed because they don't have a vase.

It looks reasonable enough, how long has it been "stuck" Given you seem to have been aiming for 1/2 or 1 lb per week, losing 3 pounds a week won't have been fat, so the the continued weight loss is probably being masked by your body re-adjusting and restoring whatever caused the big weight loss. I'm sure more knowledgeable…
-
If you lost 10 lb in 20 days it wasn't healthy. some of the loss will be as a result of changes in your diet - the amount of water in your body, and... err... the amount of food on its way through., on top of that you have daily caiation, and almost certainly your monthly cycle will be getting involved too. but you'll…

The point is to correct what MFP thinks you're burning in a day with your AMR. I use a body media device to identify when I was burning, and I log as appropriate to square things up. If I lose weight I'm not adding enough exercise, if I gain weight I'm adding to much. If you don't like the way I use MFP, you can ki$$ my…

How in the heck did you reduce an 8oz breast to 2oz? but the principle is the same, you log the raw weight. (if the 8oz was with the skin and the bone then you've logged the wrong thing)
