  • Yeah, what my sister said. LOL!
  • I was the smaller sister out of 3 girls most of my life (unfortunately, smaller doesn't mean small - we were all pretty big). My younger sister has lost 45 lbs and blew way past me and is the "smaller sister". To be perfectly honest, I'm crazy jealous and it frustrates me because I've been struggling to stay on track for…
  • I used to workout all the time barefoot. But I've had some foot issues lately and wearing shoes helps - even just around the house. I hate shoes, but I hate for my feet to hurt more.
  • I've almost sworn off taking pictures of myself until I get much closer to my goal weight. I've lost about 14 lbs and 10 inches and in my mind and in the mirror, I look so much better than I did. But then I had some pictures taken of me this weekend and it was a huge blow to my self-image. It was like "I have worked so…
  • I actually do need to work on my water... I haven't been doing so well the past few days. Normally it's not a big deal, but if I have a day or two where I don't do well it is tough for me to pick it back up. And it's not like I'm drinking soda or anything... I'm just not drinking. I did workout last night... the original…
  • :frown: I hope you get better quickly.
  • I'm up for the challenge. I've been a slacker for almost a week now and need to get back to sweating. Thursdays and Fridays are tough for me, but I will have to do one of them to make it 5 by Sunday. I can do it
  • I weighed in this morning and was pleasantly surprised that it had not moved. We spent the weekend camping and I didn't get to go hiking like I had hoped and didn't drink nearly enough water, so I was sure it would work negatively for me. And maybe it did... maybe I lost a pound or two earlier in the week and gained it…
  • Just jump in! We aim for 10lbs a month, but since you are coming in mid-month, we wouldn't expect that much =)
  • One of my motivational pictures is of me at about 200 lbs. The other one is me at 12.... it was probably the last time I was at a healthy weight.
  • about Carmen Electra! I'm going to try one of the Biggest Loser workouts. One of my coworkers has the Wii game and said it was really fun and she broke a sweat during the warm up  Some of my favorites have been Beachbody workouts... Power 90 (I like it, I just can't do it for 90 days straight) and Yoga Booty…
  • I've had a pretty good day today... I thought I had gone way over on calories, but when I logged it, I didn't go over very much at all. Now, not all of it was really good for me.... but I was close to my calorie goal. I let Tony Horton kick my booty and I feel excellent  Those of you that use workout DVDs... I need…
  • I've never made any before, but I had Kashi's Apple Orchard (or something like that) and it was sooooooo good. So my suggestion is to try to work some dried apples and spices like cinnamon and cloves in there. I would mix it with vanilla yogurt for breakfast and OMG that was good.
  • I'm sure I'll probably go over a bit on calories for Thanksgiving, but I do have one thing working in my favor... my sister is also losing weight and we can probably help each other out and make sure there are a few healthier things around to eat. Having a buddy like that in real life helps (plus she's lost 45 lbs and I…
  • Nope, not too late! Welcome aboard...
  • I had a very lazy day yesterday and haven't made the best food choices the past two days, so it's time to get focused today. You would think after having a 4 lb loss that I wouldn't do that. We're going camping this weekend so I have to sit down and really think about my food ahead of time or that could be totally…
  • I wouldn't listen to him. He's trying to freak you out - if he can make you feel guilty for it, you'll stop and he probably thinks no other man would want you unless you lose weight. It's insecurity on his part and if you just ignore him it gives you the upper hand.
  • I was thinking about this just this morning. I am having a horrible time concentrating on things at work, I just kind of wander off in my mind. It got better when I started antidepressants, but then I switched to another kind due to insurance... and it's worse again. I think I might have to go back to the other depressant…
  • Wahoo!! I finally had a weekend where I didn't go backwards! First one in a few weeks. I'm at 271... 4 lb loss since last Monday. I have to go to a work conference today. Lunch provided. Wish me luck... hopefully they have something decent I can work with. Everyone have a fabulous Monday :glasses:
  • Happy Sunday! I'm trying to be very careful this weekend about my food choices. The past few weekends, I've blown it. I did pretty well yesterday, only went over a little bit. But I didn't enter any exercise, and I was painting the living room - not a 300 cal workout, but I'm sure it gave me a little more leeway than being…
  • Welcome! :flowerforyou: Most of us are shooting for about 20 lbs total weight loss from the beginnig of November to the end of December. Recommended weight loss is 1-2 lbs a week. I'm sure that your hubby will think you're a knockout no matter how much you lose, though. I do think that you could be in starvation…
  • I'm proud of myself tonight. My kids have dance class on Thursdays from 4:30 to 5:30, so normally it's really tempting to just pick up something like pizza or McDonalds afterward for dinner. But tonight, even with my kids begging for chicken nuggets, I drove home and cooked. :drinker:
  • My sister is part of a group on here that is actually eating MORE calories than MFP recommends trying to lose weight... they just started, so I don't really know how that's going. Apparently there are several different websites that will give you a higher calorie range than MFP.
  • That depends on you. Most people I know would recommend once a week... same day, same time of day. I usually weigh almost every day, but I know not to expect it to change every day. I only record my weight on here twice a week (Monday and Friday). Weighing every day, you run the risk of getting discouraged because the…
  • If you remember what you named it, search for it and it should come up for you. For example: I saved a "meal" of coffee, creamer, and sugar and named it "My coffee." When I search for "my coffee", it comes up on the list.
  • I think my biggest problem are days where I get really busy and haven't planned out the day ahead of time. If I don't have it all planned out, when I'm busy I end up making bad choices just out of habit. So I'm working on that  It's a learning process... I'm ready for my body clock (and especially my kids' body…
  • I really need to concentrate better on the weekends... My Monday morning weigh ins are becoming very frustrating. :grumble: I only lost 3 lbs for October (the last half anyway). But I will hit the 10 lbs for November. I'm going to put forth extra effort to make sure I'm drinking my water and tracking my calories…
  • I won't get to weight in until Monday morning, but it will be pretty early... about 5:45am Central time.
  • I am going to have to try that. I usually mix mine with Grape Nuts, which is 200 cal for 1/2 c. 90 cals sound much better than 200
