Quitting is hard. It's also one of the best things I have ever done for myself. It took about a year to feel totally free but after that I never missed or craved them. Being a non-smoker is GREAT. Do every healthy thing you can do to distract yourself until you are finally free. Good luck!

I enjoyed reading your whole story. You will inspire many, just as you have relied on others to stay motivated. Your approach-- flexible, self- forgiving- is clearly a smart and winning strategy. It's hard, despite all the great photos, to believe you are the same person.

The discipline you have maintained, the amazing achievement of losing 100 pounds in such a short time-- please do not waste a moment being anything but proud.

Zinc. Take it at the very sign.

I have a very similar story. Like you I don't have a vast quantity to lose. And like you, I'm stalled. The first 5 pounds was pretty easy! But now... My belief is that as you lose you have to further ratchet down the calories and/or up the activity. Think about that 5 or 10 pounds you are no longer carrying around. That…

Love those muscles!

I agree with Jeff. I see these comments a lot-- about eating more to lose. Does not make sense! However, it is true that as you get closer to your goal it gets harder. You're just not carrying around as many pounds. There is not as much of you to keep at 98.6. The only thing to do is to persevere and expect slower weight…

Losing all that weight is so impressive-- but keeping it off? That is beyond awesome. Congratulations and my best wishes for your continued success. Your example will be an inspiration to so many people.

You look wonderful-- congratulations!

Weight loss is HARD! But also possible. It happens inevitably when you maintain a negative calorie balance. Everything MFP recommends is an estimate and may not be accurate for you. I personally find the exercise allowances too generous, and that I don't lose anything if I eat as many calories as those exercise numbers…

Have averaged one pound per week since I started in July, but now each pound is getting harder, will appreciate the extra support and motivation of these weekly sign ins! Starting weight: 128 Goal weight for September: 124 Personal goal: not to get discouraged and give up if I've hit a plateau

The closer you get to your ideal weight the harder it is. Or at least that has been my experience. I've been trying to lose 15 to 20 pounds for at least 20 years! I lose the first 5 easily enough, but then get discouraged, and give up. Seems pretty clear to me now that the key is to just keep going... 2 pounds sounds like…

July is history- don't berate yourself! You are back on track now. Don't know what your December goal is but you can definitely make it one day at a time. SW: 134 Cw: 132 Gw: 128 8/3: 132 8/10 131 8/17: 130 8/5: 129 On track and have lost 5 pounds since starting MFP. Very pleased, but wary: I have lost these same 5 pounds…

I have different issues than you, but nonetheless know what it is to struggle with weight. I have found MFP to be the most helpful tool I've ever found. I can't explain why but checking in daily and recording every morsel of food really seems to help greatly. I admire anyone who works at losing weight. This is a very…

Exactly what I've been doing lately. This suggestion does not get to the root of the problem, but the best I can suggest is to keep the chips and such out of the house.
