Can't wait to try these!

That's awesome! This really gives me hope that someday I'll be able to let go of calorie counting and do this thing just by relying on my own food and fitness knowledge and listening to my body :)

Just discovered this morning: In the last minute or so of cooking, I cracked an egg into the oatmeal and covered it up to let it "poach". Once the outside of the white was mostly cooked, I broke it up and mixed it all in to let it finish cooking from the heat of the oats. Then I topped it with a splash of maple syrup…

This sounds fantastic! I'll have to try it, and add some raisins and spices. Another answer I'll have to try is shredded coconut with cocoa powder (I'd add banana to that one). I cook mine with a tsp of sugar and a pinch of salt, then mix in a couple heaping spoonfuls of plain greek yogurt and whatever fruit I have around…

I've never experienced this, but I certainly see how it could happen. Keep your chin up, girl. Be confident in yourself because you're doing the right thing for your body and your health. And confidence is sexy!!

Saving this for later :)

^This!^ If I'm going to Outback, you'd best believe I'm having part of a bloomin' onion, some aussie fries and a thunder from down under :) But, if this is gonna be your giant meal for the day, maybe go for lunch. You won't feel famished from not having much to eat all day, and you'll probably be full for the rest of the…

I'm intrigued by this... I think many people here (probably most) are resistant to this idea because they still "need" to count their calories to keep themselves on track. I'm sure many other people, like myself, would love to break away from the slavery of calorie counting and just live a healthy and balanced life. I…

I have a small frame, so I'd like to get to a toned 115.

I say this to myself pretty much every time I go out to eat. I always cut my meal in half, intending to take home leftovers, but always mow right through it. I eat too fast. People must think I was raised by wolves...

I'm a pharmacist and spend 12 hour shifts on my feet 3-4 days a week, and I'm mostly sedentary on my days off (unless I have errands to run). I have mine set to lightly active, and it's worked out well for me. I agree with the others though; you definitely don't want to under eat.

Thanks for sharing! Saving this one :)

I'm looking for motivation as well and would love to be Fitness Pals :)

It comes down to willpower. If you really can't control your hunger (hunger, not munchies), surround yourself with healthy food. Peel and cut up carrots so they're ready to munch on, divy up your grapes into baggies. If you're still over on your calories, burn some.

I like a little bit of blueberry jam on a breakfast sandwich.

Throw me a friend request with a message if we're similar, or if you just want to be each other's cheerleaders  5'4" 24 years old SW (pre-MFP): 160 CW: 118 Goal: Maintenance/toning though I won't complain if I lose a few more pounds

The only thing I ever used it in was pancakes and waffles, and it was fine. I'd like to get back into drinking almond milk...

This is a great idea.

I kind of dealt with that a couple years ago when I was using another calorie-counting site. I stopped counting because I didn't want to become obsessive. Between then and when I started here, I gained back about 15 pounds (about a third of what I had lost). I found myself unhappy again and came to MPF. I feel more…

I second weighing in once a week. Weighing in every day will just set you up for frustration. Also, looking at the last couple days of your diary, I don't think you're eating enough. You should have a net of at least 1200. Use fruits and veggies and healthy proteins to get there.

Lookin' awesome, chica!

It's tough, pasta is so easy and cheap. It's ok though if you bulk your pasta dish up with lots of veggies and some lean meat.. I like chicken or turkey kielbasa with mine (though kielbasa can have a lot of sodium). Other ideas are: Chicken breast or tenders pan grilled and with a big salad. Grilled Portabella mushroom cap…

I know where you're coming from. I work 12 hour shifts 3-4 days a week. I always try to work out on my days off and some work days I'll get up early and work out before work. Yea, it sucks, but my no pain no gain. As mentioned, weight loss is mostly from how you eat. I pack healthy low-cal snacks and a nutritious lunch…

A couple people have said it already, but brushing my teeth after dinner usually helps me with last night cravings.

Totally agree with you. Tikka Masala is awesome, as is paneer. See if the kitchen maybe has some brown rice if there's only white on the buffet.

It depends on your calorie intake. I'm sure athletes in training burn more than that in a day. Just make sure you're giving your body nutritious food to sustain burning that many calories.

Like I said, there's no gym I can go to conveniently. If there was, I would be doing that.

Add a good breakfast when you get up in the morning, even if you're not that hungry. It'll start up your metabolism and help you reach your calorie goal.
