  • There are more consequences then just weight gain. The feeling of loss of control, guilt, self hatred just to name few. Plus there are other physical consequences like headaches, severe digestive issues, etc. binge eating is awful even at a healthy weight.
  • Breakfast foods are my favorite! I don't eat until 11am but then I have a big breakfast sandwich with egg whites, turkey bacon and a homemade hoagie bun. With my coffee it's about 500 calories. It's my favorite meal of the day!
  • I work out in the am. If I eat before hand my blood sugar drops low after and I feel just like you described. If I work out fasted and wait to eat breakfast until after 10am. I have no blood sugar problems at all. Lyle McDonald has an article on his website about why this happens to some people.
  • My motivation is similar. I want to be healthy, strong, and happy as I age. Hopefully I will live until a very old age and I want to be strong and mobile when I get there. And to set a good example for my kids. I put all the focus on fitness and what strong body's are capable of. I want to run, jump, climb mountains, etc.
  • See if you can get in to a gastroenterologist. Your symptoms are a lot like mine. I have ibs. They need to rule out gallbladder, crones, etc.
  • I'm on week 3 of stage 2. I enjoy the program so far but feel the volume is a little low for what I'm used to. I have done nrol, strong lifts, and strong curves. I'm expecting strong to get harder and the volume to go up in the next phases. Add me if you want.
  • I'm glad you got the book. Let me know what you think of it. Im sorry you had a rough few days. I had a few last weekend. Im determined to make it through this weekend without a binge. I know the more I resist the urges the weaker they will get and I can break the bad binge habit. We can do this!
  • Waiting to eat until after 11am has been the only thing I have found to control my reactive hypoglycemia. I am very sensitive to insulin and our body's naturally produce more in the morning because of elevated cortisol levels. If I skip eating in the am I feel great all day with no blood sugar issues. Lyle McDonald has…
  • Another strategy that has been helpful is I have my goals and reasons for those goals in my phone and I look at them several times a day. I also try to visualize myself happy, healthy and binge free.
  • I struggle with binge eating also. I have read a lot of books on the subject. The most helpful one for me is brain over binge. for me, it's important that I remember binge eating is just a bad habit that I have created by binging over and over. I have the power to ignore the urge to binge and change those habits. In the…
  • This is the best thread I have ever read! So very helpful!
  • Getting professional help is good advise. In the mean time, you could read the book "brain over binge" and try some of the authors strategies. It was very helpful for my binge eating.
  • A lot of cardio on a deficit should do it. I wish I could take some of your muscle you don't want.
  • I know everyone reacts different to medication but I want to give you some hope that Prozac may work for you. I have been taking Prozac for the past 5 years with no side effects or weight gain.
  • I am wondering if your hunger problems might be related to low blood sugar during pms? I would get a glucose monitor and check it when you are feeling that low energy hunger. I have reactive hypoglycemia ( diagnosed by endo with blood test and glucose monitoring) and I have had huge success controlling my blood sugar with…
  • Have you considered taking a couple week diet break to let you hormones regulate. I try to eat at maintenance calories for a couple of weeks after every two months of dieting. You can get more info on bodyrecompostion.com
  • I also enjoy the full feeling after meals. So I eat all of my calories in a 8 hour window. I have 3 meals a day. Breakfast at 11, lunch at 2, and dinner at 5. This way I am able to have large very filling meals. If I have calories left at the end of the day I use those for treats.
  • I have often wondered the same thing. Thankfully I haven't binged in a few months. After binges in the past, I would feel horrible the next day. Headache, upset stomach, and very bloated. It was always awful!
  • I found the book brain over binge very helpful for my binge eating. You should read it. In my opinion the best way to stop the cycle is to stop the restrictions and punishments. If you screw up, forgive yourself and move on. No restricting or over excersizing. Let me know what you think of the book if you decide to read…
  • Did you read brain over binge? In your last thread someone offered to send you their copy. I really think reading it would help you.
  • Yes for sure. The take away is that the food is not the problem, it's the insane urges to eat. For most people the urges start after dieting or restricting. The authors view is that the animalistic part of your brain is reacting to the diet or restrictions by urging you to eat. But your human or higher brain has the power…
  • I found the book brain over binge to be really helpful in understanding my binge eating. Your story sounds exactly like the authors. If you read it, let me know what you think. Thanks to that book, I haven't binged for over 30 days. I know I'm not completely out of the woods yet, but I have hope!
  • Call Fitbit. There customer service is amazing! They may be willing to replace it at a discount.
  • Make sure you see your doctor and figure out the cause of your sciatica pain. Mine is from mild scoliosis so my experience may be different from yours, but strength training has been the best thing I have ever done for my body. I very rarely get pain anymore. I would do a full body weight training routine but make sure you…
  • The book brain over binge was life changing for me.
  • I do have time to add them. Thanks! I will look up those lifts so I can make sure I have my form right. I'll stick with stronglifts and eating at maintenance for now. I do wonder why 7 months of nrolfw and eating at maintenance didn't give me better results with lowering my body fat? Do you think I'm doing something wrong…
  • Yes I see your point with water weight fluctuations. What would you suggest for me?
  • I'm not yet under bmi but will be if I drop much more weight. I started at 5'6.5" 150lbs and 38% bf. In 9 months I dropped to 120 and 24% bf. I was doing cardio, weight lifting classes, and eating around 1600 calories. After I reached goal I raised calories to 1800 and dropped the weight lifting classes and did nrolfw. I…
  • I could do that! Thanks! I think I could be comfortable in 5lb increments even. How long would you estimate it would take me to get to 20% body fat this way? I want to be prepared if I'm going to need a lot of patience like with recomp.
  • Yes I do want to get stronger and have more lbm. I'm afraid if I cut I'll look to thin in some areas but I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around gaining back weight that I've lost and going through not fitting in my clothes, etc. Also I think 24% body fat is too high for a bulk, but to cut to 20% would put me in…
