I do think that, if you are typically sedentary, standing is an improvement in fitness. Especially if "standing" means some pacing and fidgeting, etc. In that regards, I would think that a retail job or nursing is inherently healthier than sitting (not counting injuries from lifting). BUT I'd guess that those folks on this…

This is important to me, but can be fun too. Add me!

I remember an episode of Anerica's Test Kitchen which said the secret is to soak the bread in the milk before mixing it in w the Meat. They called this a panade. I believe they would use cubed bread instead of the bread crumbs in yours, and a bit more milk.

Baked cheese chips have zero carbs. I've never tried them but here is a link: http://www.food.com/recipe/parmesan-chips-45756

It is also a great omelet filling--drain it first, add whatever spices you like. Could also add some spinach and/or chopped tomatoes, onions.
-
Melt it on toast in broiler or toaster oven, w cinnamon sprinkled on top. Could also add a few berries.

Just remember that it is ok to have ups and downs, it doesn't mean you should disengage at all. Perhaps you just needed more transition time to lower the carbs, and that's what's going on. Maybe let that time happen, and ease back again after a few days. Meanwhile, spend the time collecting new recipe ideas?

Oh I hope you tell him--if it is the same issue, it really is just a transition thing. Once the gallbladder kicks in, the issue goes away. It didn't even take a few days, if I recall, but again, I helped it along with ginger in particular. Rubbed it on a grater, added it to water, and pretended it was ginger ale. Worked…

Hi--you can add me. I log all the time!

I had trouble, and almost threw in the towel. Then I read that it can take time for the gallbladder to get used to a high fat diet. A number of herbs apparently can help stimulate the gallbladder. Two I tried were turmeric and ginger, with or after the meal. Worked immediately.

I hope you feel better soon. For cardio not using your arm, maybe zumba?
-
Would love to join you, lots to say! Getting more active all the time.

I understand that, for a treadmill to mimic the outdoors, it should be set at a 1% incline at least. So perhaps you are experiencing that your treadmill is flatter and therefore "easier" than your neighborhood?

I used to not log them, but now I do. Now I see more progress, too.

Roasted chestnuts.

Put them away! Give yourself a time limit-say two more minutes from now-for feeling bad about them, then shift your attention to what a beautiful day it is to be alive and on this journey of self-discovery and improvement. You are going to learn and change so much, and will come to peace w the guy in the photos. This could…

Really interesting article, thank you for posting. In counterpoint, I have heard that some scientists say that "addiction" is the wrong word, because they say you can't be "addicted" to something (like oxygen) that life can't live without. Also, anecdotely, when I cut down my carbs, I had ZERO negative withdrawal symptoms.…

You have inspired me!

Don't need a fridge for any of these great ideas--I freeze small bottles of water and pack one w/ the food. Then my lunch is cold and I have some cold water to drink too.
-
Try not to think of eating as "good' or "bad". Dispel this by planning to have some, but control the portion size. I like mlroyals suggestion of drinking water to help with that.

PI is no fun! Maybe exercise in the shower? http://www.ulive.com/video/feel-the-power-in-the-shower

Not counting dried fruits, tropical fruits are the ones highest in sugar. Berries are the lowest. The rest are moderate.

Peanut sauce--Peanut butter + vinegar (usually rice vinegar) + red pepper flakes
-
Jessicapk, Thank you so much for posting that, it brought tears to my eyes. I think you inspired more than just the OP today.
-
Good wishes!! Sounds like you are having fun, post us some pictures of your cycling! Congratulations on your success so far.

I recently tried a similar recipe--Avocado Risotto--rice and avocado and cheese, essentially, you can google for specifics. Anyway, wow was it good. I had never thought to use avocado as a cream sauce. Is there an Oscar for food genius?

Learn everything you can from it. Eg, write down what you're feeling, what you think triggered it, etc. Log your food too. Meanwhile, I find that an inspirational blog, movie, etc, about someone overcoming adversity despite all odds can get me back on track. I think it makes my adversities seem small and conquerable in…

Congratulations on passing the test, but even more, on learning a couple of things about yourself. One thing I do is journaling, eg, I'd write those two insights down in my journal. I also cut and paste in it any stress-relieving stories or ideas I come across. Often these are inspiring articles about a person who's…
