Sunkissed (great name BTW), We've all been there. The best advise I've heard for this is, "do the next right thing." In other words, head back to your plan via whatever small step or two you can manage. Sometimes when I'm in this spot, a cup of mint tea will settle my stomach. Besides being meditative in itself. A chance…

Not a medical professional at all, so just speaking from my own experience here: Tendonitis can take years to heal--I am told this is because there is relatively low blood supplied to them, versus other tissues, and therefore tendons regenerate much more slowly.) I think the first year I tried to heal my own tendonitis…

The more water in the food, the more filling it is. Fruit, vegetables, and soup are high volume (filling) for the calories because of this. Good luck!!

There is a weight watchers in Shanghai. They have good English resources on food values of chinese dishes. Perhaps you can get there on a vacation, or call them and see if you can work out something by mail.

I'd love the company! Still jazzed from Saturday's amazing WOD.

The Weight Watchers in Shanghai has some good materials in English on calories of local Chinese food. You could join briefly to get the materials, or stay for the camaraderie.

I am impressed! Great changes! Soon you'll need entirely new clothes, but that is a great color on you!

Regarding lunches--freeze some bottles of water. Pack one w your lunch everyday. Then you can pack stuff you'd refrigerate, like cooked meat or hard boiled eggs, plus you'll have ice water at lunchtime.

I had to re-frame my thinking. STRONGLY tell myself that certain foods at work are NOT free. That they are not mine. Believing the foods belonged to someone else helps rally your inner resistance. You can even make up an ominous Department, eg the Food Police, that will cause you trouble if you partake. Come up w a mind…

I'm intrigued, I'm game.

I've lost around the same amount and got my first comment this week. I went from wondering why no one noticed to remembering how intrusive those comments can sometimes be.

I love your idea, and I'd be interested in reading folks' posts, perhaps the discussion will spur me to get the book.

One way to not be overwhelmed is to pick a meal plan and just follow it--so then there are no decisions for you to make. Here's 28 days of meal plans with recipes: http://www.eatingwell.com/nutrition_health/weight_loss_diet_plans/diet_meal_plans/weight_loss_diet_meal_plan?pC=1500&pT=diet&pD=1 Could you try this one for 28…

I like the Center for Science in the Public Interest http://www.cspinet.org/. They charge a small fee for their Nutrition Action Letter, but it is a great read--summary of research on all the food topics that folks ate debating , and their opinion. Tufts' nutrition school also puts out a newsletter that is good.

Sublime. Can you come back later and list the references when you get a chance?

REI is having a sale on some models. So I'm thinking about giving them a try...
