Torn Hamstring - Cardio Ideas?!

Hey Everyone,

A few days ago I had the pleasure of tearing my right hamstring muscle. It's not a bad tear but any kind is bad enough right?! I'm just stressing a little because I exercise around 5 out of 7 days per week and now I can't resume my normal cardio for 4-5 weeks. I'm wondering if anyone has any advice on how I can get my heart pumping with some sweet cardio without the use/strain on my legs. I'm going to continue with weight training my upper body, but I really want something that will put my heart rate up like running and biking was for me prior injury. Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

    Boxing is the bomb! Try punching drills.

    I assume you went to a doctor and he put you physical therapy?? I would follow the advice of the PT. I could barely stand let alone walk back when I started and my P.T. girls helped get me to where I am today.... That being said I used a UBE (armbike) for quite sometime and that thing will kick your butt if you have access to one... Either way concentrate on your diet, and rest up and you will be back at it in no time.... Best of Luck

    Yeah I have a referral for the Physio but no health insurance means it's a no go :(
