Such a great thread and what an inspiration! Is it possible to “lift heavy” without the gym or fancy equipment? I have a 16kg kettlebell and some dumbbells (adjustable, so can be made heavy), plus a bar. Is that enough to get started? I also have to exercise outside only as no space in the house, so no bench press 😬

I totally get it - I’ve got 30lbs to lose as well. At my heaviest now, but every time I think “that’s it, I’m gonna do it” it only last for a couple of days. I’d love for someone to keep me in check, communicate daily and motivate me - and I will do the same in return!

Wise words. Maybe that’s the core of my problem. I have been setting myself up to fail - all or nothing, and all is always too much. I will take your advice, small changes. If I don’t see the results I want, so be it - the time will pass anyway. Thank you - I appreciate it.

There is definitely some of that - I’m 5’1 and need to lose around 20lbs. Progress is very slow, and I don’t really see it. Thanks @Danp and @AlohaBeaches100 for you replies. I’ve done calorie counting in the past - but the older I get the less it seems to work. I’ll eat 1200 calories a day (my maintenance is 1500) and do some exercise to burn an additional 200-300, but I don’t see any results. I then get discouraged and quit all together 😔

No, my BMI is normal, although towards the top end. Me in the picture is before pregnancy, so i wasn't overweight then. I'd like to get back to that weight.
