you look amazing - and so happy  i'm not far into my journey. 5'8 and wanting to get from 190lb to about 150 or less. i too have a tiny waist so people don't think i'm 'big' - but my hips and thighs are :(
-
thank you for posting this  i too am guilty of not making time for myself and attending to everyone else's needs first. i'm changing - slowly!
-
wow!! you look amazing
-
thank you  MFP says my bmr is 1533 which is around what i thought my daily amount should be whilst aiming to lose a bit each week from the other calculator i used?
-
thank you  looking at the macros, it looks like my diet is carbohydrate heavy with very little protein and fat. i'm vegetarian and don't eat much fatty food at all so i'll search out more protein rich foods and add more olives and artichokes to my diet.
-
hello fellow confused person  have you been logging everything in your diary? i'm really starting to get used to doing that and keeping a close eye on portion control.
-
thank you  most of the calculator links are giving me a figure of 1400-1500 calories per day so i think i will maybe add a snack or 2 to my days and see how i go.

i have been vegetarian for over 25 yrs so a typical paleo diet wouldn't be suitable. i eat a lot of whole foods anyway but will look at cutting down on grain and sugar. thank you.

brilliant advice :flowerforyou:
-
that's a really useful tool, thank you  should i be deducting the 500 cal per day from the top figure (basal metabolic rate) or the bottom figure (total energy expenditure)?
-
well, from reading through the posts, it would seem that quite a few newcomers to here are not setting MFP 'right' at first. addressing a weight issue is a step in the right direction - fancy getting confused by all the figures as soon as you join the site.....and daring to ask for advice from others who may not have…

i didn't realise that everyone should be following the '1200' calories per day fits all....maybe reading through the forums to gain as much info as i can and asking advice from others is not how this works?
-
thank you for the very helpful explanations and links

an amazing change :) looking good

i ate too much on friday and all day saturday i felt bleuuurgh and WANTED to drink lots of water and eat fruit and fresh salads. i think i'm adapting to my healthier way of eating. if i do eat more than i need to, i remember that tomorrow is a new day.
-
yes, i've logged a typical 'before' day and yes it was more than 1200 calories but not above 2000 unless i went out to a restaurant (maybe once every 6 weeks or so). i think my problem is primarily that i used to be pretty active but CFS and fibromyalgia have changed that - and its taken me over 2 years to realise that i…

i've been vegetarian for 25 years. i've recently cut out milk and most cheeses. just need to ditch the occasional craving for eggs now, and butter.

you look awesome

looks so much more than 20lb! you're looking great. how have you got your stomach trim so quickly?
-
stunning - and the dress looks gorgeous

fantastic progress

you look amazing  thank you so much for posting your story and pics. i'm new here and don't 'talk' but i read the forums. thank you - i feel inspired to keep going :flowerforyou:

i've been here 3 weeks but have lost 6lb. not a huge amount but i have CFS/fibromyalgia so my exercise is limited - very. well, i'm feeling proud of myself anyway :blushing:
-
yes, i know. its never happened before i cut out the rubbish from my diet though so i wondered if anyone else had experienced it as a 'one off'. the thirst has passed but if it returns like that i will go to get tested for diabetes.
-
i dread to think - i know that each thigh is bigger than my waist used to be. i'm limited exercise wise (health reasons) but have been doing some squats - may this help?

congratulations :)
