  • way to go!! Keep up the good work. I've never done insanity but I have done his newest Insanity Max30 and loved it :)
  • I sent you a friend request. I have been absent from here for a while but am back again ;) I am by no means a professional but I will help you where I can
  • Shelby, it is actually a very good program. The containers are used to help people understand what proper portion sizes should look like. It was designed for people who need to get a better handle on their eating, to figure out how much of each food group you should be eating. It isnt a quick fix program it is helping you…
  • when you want to skip a workout or stray from healthy eating just remind yourself why you are trying to be healthier. what is the reason you are doing all of this and use that to push you forward
  • Excuse my ignorance but what is the IF diet?
  • I exercise because it boosts my immune system, makes me stronger and healthier and reduces the risk of my cancer returning. I exercise so I can live
  • Welcome Kat, glad you joined us. How is life in Ireland
  • Welcome. Changing your diet is probably more difficult than being active, at least it was for me but Ive learned weight loss is like 85% nutrition so you are on the right track. :)
  • Welcome Lori!! Congratulations on your decision to get moving. It is important to take a little bit of time for yourself every now and then. Couch to 5k really helped me train for my first 5k. its a great program. Unfortunately for me running did not help me in my weight loss goals. It did however, help me feel stronger…
  • If you are lacking motivation try revisiting why you started this journey in the first place. Go beyond the usual " I want to lose weight" find a real reason, one that has an emotional pull for you and let that push you. Or you can do what I do, take a picture of yourself in a swimsuit and pin it on the mirror so you see…
  • I am a Shakeology fan. I drink them for breakfast because i rarely give myself enough time to make and eat a decent breakfast. i get a lot of vitamins and nutrients from them and they help curb my snack cravings throughout the day. as for keeping me full, they usually keep me satisfied for about 2-3 hours and since i tend…
  • Try planning ahead and prep as much as you can. I do a lot of the Beachbody workouts and they each come with their own suggested meal plans. I spend my Saturday or Sunday afternoon prepping food for the upcoming week. That way I dont have to think about it. i just grab the food and go. It has made a big difference for me
  • This is good to hear. I just joined one Shaun T is doing. It doesnt start until April 6th though
  • If time is an issue you might want to check out the new Insanity Max30. 30 minute workouts and they rock!! I am already seeing small changes and I've only been doing it for 2 weeks
  • I love my polar FT4. It really helps me better estimate my calorie burn so I can adjust my intake if necessary
  • You will get there. Just stay strong. The holidays are hard for many of us. Do your best to make the best choices at holiday gatherings. Fill up on the healthier options first, you will be less likely to blow it on the other stuff.
  • I wouldnt do a cheat day but a cheat meal once in a while is ok especially if there is a specific food you really enjoy but have cut out of your diet. Allowing yourself to enjoy a "unhealthy" meal from time to time can help prevent pigging out later on :)
  • Be patient. PCOS does make it more difficult to lose weight. It's not impossible but slows it down a bit. It sounds to me like you are on the right track. You didnt gain all of the weight overnight, you wont lose it that quickly either. Maybe talk to a nutritionist that can help you tweak your diet a bit. Having PCOS you…
  • I am finishing 21 Day Fix next week then i will be starting my 2nd round of T25. Ash and Lizzie, T25 is a workout with Shaun T. The work outs are high intensity cardio and last 25 minutes each. It is a tough workout but a really good one :)
  • There is a difference between being thin and being healthy. You will lose weight any time you have a calorie deficit but that doesnt mean you will be healthy when you get there. Are you exercising regularly? A good exercise routine will help improve your strength and cardio system at least
  • Just pace yourself and have fun!
  • Welcome Traci. I am 42 and have been here for a bit. :) feel free to add me as a friend
  • Maybe try taking a week off but only if you are sure it wont turn into quitting all together. What about changing things up and trying a different type of exercise? Go for a bike ride instead of a run or go swimming or take a yoga class. Just something to change things up until you come out of your funk. Good luck to you
  • yes 2x a week is better than nothing and you will see results but it may take you longer to see them. I also agree, be careful about not going too low on the carbs. carbs are your bodies energy source and if you are working out hard you will need them just make sure they are healthy carbs and not low or no nutrient carbs
  • If you are looking for a specific workout program to use I would recommend Body Beast. It is a weight lifting program that has a lean schedule or a bulk up schedule. It also comes with a guide that helps explain what kinds of foods and how much you should be eating. Keep in mind your family genetics as well, while proper…
  • WE can support and try to motivate you but you have to be willing to do the hardwork. Are you willing to do that? If so how can we help?
  • I would agree, stop focusing on the scale so much its not nearly as important as how you feel. You may find through out your journey that the scale is not moving but you will actually be building muscle and/or losing inches. This is way more important than what the scale says. You can do this without resorting to surgery.…
