I've recently started adding in smoothies for one meal. When you say oats...you mean raw oatmeal oats? How is the taste? And how much do you add? I need more fiber in my diet so that may be a good way to get some. Thanks

They sent me the results via the lab they use. Most companies won't do this...my husband's didn't. But, I went through AAA and they use a lab that will release the results if you want. I printed them out and will use them as a comparison for the results I get next week from my dr.

Well the good news is that the insurance company apparently look at everything because they approved me, at a lower rate! So that part is good. I do have an appt with my Doctor tomorrow to figure out what is going on...we will re run the tests. I guess sometimes when one loses weight it takes a while for the numbers to…

I don't drink. :\

Well some was, and some wasn't. Cholesterol 208 -- in August it was 159 HDL 83 -- August 60 LDL 88 -- August 82 Chol/HDL rating 2.5 -- August 2.6 LDL/HDL rating 1.06 -- August 1.36 Trigly 184 -- August 85 No clue. Only thing I can think is the medication. I will ask for restest because it doesn't make sense to me.

I agree. Thank you for your thoughts. I contacted my agent and will see if I can do a retest. I will be off the medication next week, so that should be a good time. I think I will also have my doctor re run and see what she thinks. At least then it can give me some piece of mind.
-
It says my triglycerides went from 85 (in August w/ my doctor) to 184 from this exam. They have never in my life been out of range and I have annual exams and blood work. :\
-
I fasted for 13 hrs.

My HDL was good..actually higher than it was in August. It went from 60 to 83. So, as I look further, I see that is a good thing. My LDL was in normal range, on a 0-129, mine was 88. And I am looking more at changes and just found that bc pills can increase the levels of triglycerides. I was not on those in August. I do…

They haven't declined, though I am sure my rate quote will be elevated. I was more concerned that my numbers increased overall. I emailed my doctor to see what she thinks. And I will see if they will retest. I have never seen bad numbers on bloodwork and I am just so darn frustrated that I am trying so hard and it feels…

Thank you everyone. :D I do feel great and more motivated to continue forward.

I'm 5'2" and I have Pcos, which plays into my calorie needs. I was at 1200 and lost 20 lbs on that...but I stalled and after talking with my doctor last week, I dropped it to a 1000-1100 range. I've lost 3lbs on that so far. But I am monitored on that low intake. I workout 3-4 days a week and only eat back calories if I am…

Brussels sprouts cut in quarters, sprinkled with a bit of olive oil, garlic & onion powder and a smidge of salt. spread on cookie sheet and roasted in oven till just turning brown. So so yummy. You can even make a dipping sauce if you like, though I like them plain. The kids may like them with dipping sauce. Mashed…

As far as exercise goes...maybe try some pilates to help with the toning and getting some flexibility back? I had a friend who tore her ACL, had surgery and pilates really helped her.

Could my husband lose 20lbs? yes. Does it bother me that he does not have the motivation to do so right now? No. Will it bother me when I am at my goal weight? No. Why...because we have loved each other through thick and thin. I love him for who he is, unconditionally, just as he does me. And I certainly have been the one…

5'2" here...with 30lbs more to lose. It may be more after that, but its been so long since I was 155 I wanna see how I feel. I am large frame, so at 180lbs I will hit the "overweight" category. WOOHOO! Oh..and I am 38.

Depends on body type is so true. I was a size 14/16 dress at 203. Now I'm 185 and still a 14/16 dress because of my chest. In high school I was 140 and still a 14/16 dress because of my chest. So, now I tend to stay away from dresses till I can get rid of the boobs. Lol but pants sizes, I've lost one size in…

I've had a kidney stone which my doctor said I could potentially avoid in the future by increasing my water intake. It was the worse pain of my life and I have had two kids. Its not something I want to endure again. So I increased my water significantly. Now, I try to drink between 65 and 80 oz a day. I also drink a cup of…

For Thanksgiving I will eat in moderation. Its not a huge gorge fest for me because I don't crave Thanksgiving foods. Probably helps that I don't like Pumpkin or Pecan pie. However, for Christmas we make carne asada tacos as our traditional meal. That day I will not be counting...I will be enjoying. :)

Please do not assume I have not done research and that I am not making the best possible choices for my health. The number one being I need the weight gone to avoid other health issues. There is no need to become angered if someone handles their health issues different than the way you do. What that means is that every is…

Its hard to say. What I have discovered with PCOS research is that no two women are exactly alike in symptoms and how they react to dealing with it. BCP jump started me on losing weight. Meaning, I haven't changed my "diet" in the last year and wasn't losing anything. When I started on bcp, I started losing. They also have…

And eating low doesn't bother me. I am not starving during the day, I have energy to do my workout and if I find that I am hungry, I will eat a bit more. But for the most part, 1000-1200 works for me.

I understand what you are saying, but they truly have been lifesaving for me in the last three months. After five years of horrific struggles and trying different things, it is better for to stick with my drs treatment plan and I am losing weight with it. When I get to a better weight range for me, I will look at other…

I have pcos. I only lose on a diet of 1000 to 1200 a day. I am on bcp which has helped me tremendously as well. I workout five days a week for at least 30 min. And I rarely eat back my exercise calories. I keep my sugar low and my carbs low. After five years of trying different things, this is what works for me and is the…

I have low iron and vit D. So, I take a multi vitamin and during my monthly cycle, I add more iron...but that is it. It does help me feel better
-
I do. Mind you, I did not want to be on the pill, but to be honest, its been life saving for me. But, I did have all my hormones tested.
-
My personal experience is that I only lose weight while on the pill. But this is due to the fact that I was recently diagnosed PCOS and the bc pill is helping to steady my hormones. For five years I steadily gained no matter what I tried. Started the pill two months ago and I have lost every single week. Everyone's body…

I was just diagnosed with PCOS two months ago. I am 38 years old. After having my tubes tied 7 years ago, my body apparently couldn't handle no birth control . For five years I begged drs to find out what was wrong with me. I was gaining weight no matter what I was trying to do, I had horrible cramps all month long, heavy…

I tried cold turkey...all I got was headaches, muscle aches and a binge fest. So I took baby steps instead. It took me a good month before I stopped craving cookies, chocolate and such. Now, I don't crave them at all. I set my limit of sugar to 20 mg and read all the labels. I also don't buy any process sweet treats. If I…
