  • "A moment on the lips, forever on the hips" "Nothing tastes as good as thin feels." "With your diet, don't dawdle -- if you don't want to waddle!" "Bigger snacks means bigger slacks" "It's better to laugh or to giggle, than to eat more and jiggle!" "Don't dig your grave with your own knife and fork!" "Eat wise, drop a…
  • Try half whole wheat & half regular at first.
  • Shoulders are very vulnerable. Look up rotator cuff exercises and make sure you're working your opposing muscle groups. Ice can help with inflammation. If it's not getting better, see a physio for help.
  • First offical job @ 13 - belay staff in a rock climbing gym (the person that controls the ropes for people that don't know how to climb). Worked there casually for about 6 years. Before that I'd do odd jobs like cleaning and filing for my parents upholstery shop.
  • Stationary bike. After my knee surgery it was all I was allowed at first. Then they had me on some sorta of leg press where I gradually built up to my body weight. Then it was lots of squats and lunges and balancey stuff. By building up the muscles around your knee, the pain will actually reduce. Took me six months of hard…
  • FRIDAY! (Feb 10)
  • My beagle basically did the same thing. We think it was an anxiety problem. It wasn't quite everyday, so we think it happened if someone came to the door when we weren't home or if she heard the complex's gardeners. We eventually would lock her in the kitchen, put a mat for her to pee on away from her bed. It worked most…
  • I'm 3 years post-op. I lost a lot of weight at the beginning b/c I was an emergency surgery, and after my second attack in two weeks (and after adjusting my diet) I was admitted to the hospital and not allowed to leave until they operated. I was there for five days, and you can't eat or drink while waiting for surgery.…
  • Someone in my highschool was named Anita Ho.
  • Go Canucks Go!
  • Sometimes when I slice a kiwi I don't bother to peel it, so I do eat the peel. It's kinda of a fun texture.
  • I'm 5'5", medium build and currently 128lbs. I'm aiming for 120-125lbs. I think it'scompletely possible and well within healthy range. Most of my "size" is fat I think though, so I may not lose anymore weight, but hopefully lose some size. The weight number doesn't matter so much to me anymore. I just need some more…
  • Had mine out 2.5 years ago. Haven't had to change my diet all that much. For some reason I have severe stomach cramps when I eat grapes. I don't understand that one. I am mindful of eating vast quantities of fat at once. But the surgery didn't get rid of my symptoms, so I'm currently trying to figure out what is actually…
  • My two favourites! Chocolate http://www.eatingwell.com/recipes/chocolate_zucchini_bread.html Lemon http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/lemon-zucchini-bread/detail.aspx I made these with the oil last time, but I'm sure you can sub for applesauce. Not sure if they're the exact recipes I used, but they're close at least.
  • Garmin 405 tracks calories only based on speed. (the gps has to be working, doesn't track calories burned based on HR) Garmin 405CX tracks calories based on HR. (I have a 305, i just use the average heart rate and calculate my estimated calories from a HR to carlorie conversion website)
  • Vancouver BC! Soo many places to go. I often run in Pacific Spirit Park. Climb in Squamish/Sea-to-Sky corridor. Ski in whistler or cypress. Play tennis in one of the 100+ courts. The hardest part of getting healthy for me right now is the food. I'm always hungry and I want the "bad" stuff lately.
  • Talk to your doctor. I used to go to a walk-in clinic because of my weird work/school hours, so you end up seeing multiple doctors. One doctor put me on a brand that made me cry over everything! Pictures of puppies, tissue paper ads, etc. Then I'd get mad at myself for crying for no reason, and cry harder. I lasted a…
  • Add me if you like. I'm now 2 years post-op. (even though it appears now to have been unnecessary) Don't eat a lot of fat at once, aside from that, I didn't have to make many changes! Take care of yourself
  • If you've tried five tests over a course of a few days (better if by multiple manufacturers) and they're all negative, I'd say it's fairly safe to assume you're not pregnant. Urine tests are surprisingly accurate if performed correctly and if done after your missed period. There are many many reasons you're body will skip…
  • The body burns a higher percentage of calories from fat in the fat burning zone (60-65% of maximum heart rate) or at lower intensities. At higher intensities (70-90% of your maximum heart rate), you burn a greater number of overall calories.
  • coconut-mango-pomogranate talapia with mango salsa spinach salad with cranberry goat cheese, blueberries, raspberries and flax either quinoa or leftover uncle bens rice
  • I'm 5'5" and my goal is 120-125. But since I'm already well into the healthy range, I don't care so much about the number and care more about my "size". I'll stop losing once my thighs/butt fit into the same size clothes as my waist. If I gain muscle and the scale goes up, it wouldn't bother me. I just want to look and…
  • My current trick to stop that is just not to go down that aisle. If I don't see it, I don't know it's on sale and it can't tempt me. I did by some mini-pizzas the other day, they were ridiculously cheap and my favourite. But, I haven't even eaten them, they're just taking up space in my freezer now! When I see the…
  • I dont' know what ideal is, but I'm ~130lbs, 5'5" and my upper arm is 11". But I may have fairly strong arms compared to some people.
