Whole wheat pasta

I really want to start using whole wheat pasta but I just can't get past the taste and texture. Any suggestions?

thats what i have heard the best way to start out. me personaly i love it but unfortunitly im one of the few that do in the house so for me to buy it just for me is tough0 -

I love hogdson mills whole wheat pasta. Yum! But I've switched to rice pasta or quinoa pasta now for most of my pasta eating, do to trying to cut out as much gluten as I can in my diet. It just causes my stomach to do awful things.0

Have you tried it in thin spaghetti? I didnt like the regular spaghetti, but thin was really good.0

Regular is just as good? White flour is horrible for you!
Any real nutritionist would tell you just to don't eat ANY pasta :P

Cover it up so you don't have to taste it.. Haha! I don't like the texture of whole wheat spaghetti just by itself. If there is some kind of sauce or it's in a baked dish, it isn't so bad.0

I eat this or Rozoni healthy harvest. cook 10oz of pasta, Sautee 8 cups baby spinach, 3 cloes chopped garlic, 2 cups cherry tomatoes (halves), and italian turkey sausage. mix together and top with a little parmesan cheese. its only about 450 calories per serving, 17 grams of fat, and 34 grams of protein0 -

I like Dreamfields pasta. It tastes as good as any "regular" pasta I'v'e ever eaten, but only has 5 net carbs. I get mine in bulk from Amazon. BE AWARE it contains twice the fiber of any other pasta you've probably ever eaten, which results in some impressive tiny room experiences. But I'm always trying to increase my fiber intake, and I just love this brand.0

Just learn how to make your own fresh pasta. It's not hard to do. Mix I cup of wholewheat, one cup of allpurpose white, and 2 large eggs together in the food processor.
Sometime's I need to add about a tablespoon of water because the mixture is to dry. I should resemble pie dough.
Buy a handcrank pasta machine (50 bucks), run the dough thru. Flour the pasta sheets so the don't stick together. Then crank them thru the cutter. Toss into salted boiling water and stir. Usually fresh pasta is cooked in a minute or two.
Jamie Oliver has a couple of videos on youtube. One has a Italian gentleman showing Jamie how to make pasta. Then another one shows Jamie making it in the studio.
Once you get the hang of it, you will never be sucked into paying 6 bucks for 500gms of specialty pasta again. You have to figure, how much does a cup of flour cost, how much does an egg cost?
I have added sambal chili pasta to my whole wheat pasta, hot wing sauce as well, made beet pasta, spinach pasta,etc. In the end, your only limited buy your imagination.
I'm a journeyman cook (30 years), trust me, it really is that easy.

Can you get spinach pasta? I use that as a compromise0

Eat it anyway, it grows on you. You will probably end up preferring it after a while. I did.0
