We have almost identical stats! I swim instead of yoga though. Hope I am as successful as you, well done.

Hi everyone. Just been to an aqua aerobics class for the first time ever. I usually go to the pool and do lengths and have seen this class going and noticed that everyone seems to be having a good time so thought I would give it a crack. It was hard work! And more than a little disconcerting when the instructor told us to…

Hahaha Dizzzlel .... that gave me a long needed laugh! You could easily be the topic of conversation at many a dinner table tonight! Impressed with the dedication though - I'm more interested in a glass of wine when I'm away than working out! (Which is why I am on MFP!) Cheers Kathy

Thank you, so do I. He is my baby!

Hi everyone from a cold and wet Palmerston North. Have spent some time this morning at the Massey University Animal Hospital with our dog - he has been in and out all week with some kind of bug, they aren't sure what, but weight is falling off him. How ironical is that? I go on a diet and the dog loses weight. I'm just…

Hi everyone, awesome day again here in Palmy - and I'm at work :( I'm planning on doing a reasonable road ride on Sunday morning, and guess what? Showers, wind and cold temps forecast! Oh well, it can only improve. Wow Karina I just read how much you have lost! Well done! For some reason I am being plagued by cramp at the…

Not long until we can dust off the bbq! Yay! Anything cooked on the bbq tastes a whole lot better to me. And it's easier. Have a great day everyone, Kathy.

Wow! Fantastic effort! We had an amazing weekend for weather in Palmy so I got a 40 k bike ride in yesterday, loved it. Almost feels like spring is in the air - and it's not getting dark until nearly 6pm. Yay! Have a great week everyone, cheers, Kathy.

I was feeling smug yesterday because I managed to get a decent walk in during my lunch break (in Palmerston North), I had no sooner got in the door and it absolutely pelted down. One up for me. Feeling very positive: I consulted 'Dr Google' last night and I read that the best treatment for a prolapsed disc in the lower…

I have a fitbit and use it constantly. Love it.

Thanks Psych101 - I'm hoping I have finally turned a corner re my back healing. I'm doing a 10k walk on Sunday with a friend, but I will let her take off after the first couple of ks and just finish it in my own time. That fruit bread sounds delicious, is it at all supermarkets?

Hi, I'm in Palmy too ... we got tricked on the weekend with our mild weather. Back to reality today. I'm just getting back into the exercise after a back injury but have managed to keep up walking and cycling, just a lot less of both. However I can now see a glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel, so here's hoping I can…

1. Get to my 'first goal' of 72 kgs. 2. Not waste a week of sensible eating by going nuts on the weekend. 3. Doing a 10k fun walk on the 10th August - complete that without hurting my back. 4. Try to keep this diet/exercising roller coaster in perspective.

Red 8 - this is in New Zealand, not sure where else you can get it. The vanilla powder is my favourite.

Yes, I am doing the 10 k walk with my sister. This is our second year. It is a great event and the area is so beautiful to walk in, the time goes before you know it.

bump for later - thanks!

Thanks for your responses. I have been checked for diabetes and I got the all clear. I drink around 3 litres a day - I'm not sure what that is in gallons.

I was feeling so low this morning with my roller coaster battle with my weight, but I can't feel anything but inspired now after reading your story. You are an amazing person.

Hi, I'm 51 (for another month!) and in Palmerston North. I would love some NZ friends too, so if anyone wants to add me that would be great.
-
Another one from Palmerston North! Feel free to add me.

52 kgs for someone who is 5'6 seems an incredibly low weight. Maybe your body needs to be where it is.

I have always eaten three meals a day, plus a light snack at morning tea and afternoon tea time. One of the guys at my work said to me one day, in front of all the other guys that work there "you know, if you didn't eat so much you wouldn't have to exercise like you do". Duh, wish I had thought of that.
