Sorry, but the closest I can relate to your situation is me being pregnant and my husband being diagnosed w/hyperthyroidism in Aug and the docs killing his thyroid in Dec (he was isolated to the basement for a week). As far as the weight gain is concerned, as long as you track your calories, drink enough water (minimizes…

To expand on this, it's because you build up muscle while buring fat, so while you may not see progress on the scale (you could gain muscles that weighs the same as the fat you lost) measurements will tell you your true progess (muscle is leaner than fat so you'll notice progress in inches lost). And ditto to what everyone…

My favorite is 1/2 c orange juice, 1/4 cup vanilla yogurt, 1 scoop chocolate protein powder, 1/4 c mixed frozen fruit (I like the peaches, mangos, strawberries & pineapples), with half a banana. I've also swapped out the frozen fruit for frozen berries (blue berries, rasperries, strawberries) and apple juice instead of…

I'm also delivering at a military hospital, and I plan to have the following bags: - A bag for me & labor: toilet paper (softer than offered on base), tooth brush, tooth paste, brush/comb, hair tie, clothes to labor in or robe/slippers, any music/books for during labor, and a change of clothes for after - A bag for baby:…

Ditto. All the research I did showed that while certain protein powders are not good during pregnancy, whey protein powder (which is what I use) is fine.

Putting on work boots & climbing flights of stairs multiple times a day lol.

Mine went from a 34 almost A to a 36B within the first trimester, but haven't really gotten any bigger, nor do hurt anymore (although the nipples do get sensitive at times). I expect them to get a little bigger once my milk comes in (which they say is around 3 days after delivery) but I've also been told that I should get…

Ooh, you're getting my hopes up! Knowing her, she'll be just like me (mother's curse, you know ) and be stubborn, thereby coming late lol.

Because I DVR to fast forward through commercials

First tri I set mine to maintain, second tri to .5 lb gain and third tri left it at .5 lb gain since the holidays fell w/in the third tri so keeping it lower knowing i would go over on those meals helped me from going over too much. I've heard/read it that you should be set to gain 1 lb week for third tri but I've also…

Feb 6 for me, but she could come early.. who knows? Add me if you'd like!

Bump for later!! I love this variation on a recipe my dad would make from scratch! Not to mention so much easier w/the crock pot and less time consuming on my part  I  my crockpot, it's such a lifesaver with our work schedules!

Especially if you can show that them paying for a home birth is cheaper than a hospital birth (which in my case it is)
-
I was considering it, but it'd be completely out of pocket for me as my insurance won't cover it since I live within 50 miles of a hospital. I think I'm just going to stick with the hospital I am expected to deliver at (I'm military) as they allow everything I want for a natural birth and I'll be attended my a certified…

I'm also in the military and expecting my first w/in 6 weeks. I've been staying w/in my 25-35 lb weight gain so they haven't made a big deal about that (yet). As far as the fitness test 6 months after, no one's really been stressing it, although I'm aware of it. I'm not too worried or stressing about it yet because it's so…

For me, my boobs were the first place I seemed to lose weight, followed by my waist, then hips, then thighs. Some women lose weight in their boobs last, which could be your case. Also, if you're doing any weights that work the chest muscles (ex. pushups), those will give you a natural lift that will also make them look…

A hybrid program is what I did; followed the insanity program and added the P90X weights workouts on those scheduled days. Definitely do the weights first so you have the energy and proper form as Insanity will definitely wear you out initially lol. And I echo what others have said about a good HRM. I've got one with a…

I actually see a chiropractor who adjusts my spine when my sciatic nerve gets pinched. Seems to help quite a bit. I've also found that being on all fours and slowly stretching the leg on the side of the pinched nerve out (straightening it) and slightly lifting it once straightened helped too.
-
My lower back still hurts and the pain centers around my sciatic nerve which gets pinched occasionally. To relieve that pain, I see a chiropractor. For just muscle aches/pain, I've been told to invest in a belly support belt to help take some of the pressure off your back from all the weight you're carrying in the front.…

Per the dr's office scale, I'm up 30 lbs at 34 weeks (and I'm retaining tons of water atm so it's somewhat less than that).

Yup, have them too. Our house was set at 66* but when I raised it to 68* they seemed to not be so bad. We're visiting family for the holidays and I'm definitely experiencing them again, but yeah, not fun to wake up having to pee and feeling soaked. :ohwell:

I've had tons of crazy, vivid dreams, none of which have been baby related. Some were influenced by a tv show or movie I'd watched that day, and other times I wake up wondering where in the world my brain got the "inspiration" for that particular dream. And many nights, after I get up to pee the dream I had is not resumed…

So, just my two cents, but 3 days isn't that bad. From everything I've read (because I had a similar issue in my second tri), "normal" is considered once at least every 4 days. If you go more than that, great! If you've gone 5+ days w/o a BM that's when you've got to bring on everything else. And if you recently changed…

Oh, great tip, thanks for sharing!! This could definitely come in handy for me when hubby has to go back to work after our girl is born.

Compared to my SIL who's 5'10", I have a longer torso so I'm in the same boat as you as far as the uterus having more room to expand before expanding outwards. She on the otherhand showed much earlier than me and she's 5 weeks behind! Difference for me is that it seems my little one has been settled into a position for…

I seemed to be stuck in that "twilight zone" for what seemed like forever! I'm 5'9" and I didn't really start showing to the point where people could tell until around week 20-21 (5 months in), and even then people were cautious because it still wasn't THAT obvious, until a little later. It wasn't until almost 7 months I…

I had issues with swelling at week 30 but for me it was too much sodium, not enough water and staying sedentary. Once I started watching my sodium intake like a hawk, drink tons of water (12-16 glass a day, and yes I peed A LOT!) and made myself get up and walk around a decent amount (10-15 mins per hour) it went down to…

More than likely he's referring to Oxytocin which occurs at different levels at different stages of birht, but especially at the end is what cause the mother & baby to fall in love with each other. I did a quick google search and this article does a decent job at explaining it:…

+28 lbs at 31 weeks. Not too shabby with Thanksgiving being in there lol.

It's recommended for the first tri to be at maintenance calories, so use whatever MFP suggests for maintaining your current weight. When you get to the second and third tri, you only need 250-300 more cals a day for healthy weight gain/pregnancy (set MFP to gain 1/2 lb a week for this setting). Hope this helps!
