Ditto for me. I also listen to my body; so if I'm just not hungry one day to eat all my calories I carry them over to the next day as an exercise entry (created one special for this labeled "leftover calories"). That way, when I was starting and "overate" I really wasn't because I had the extra calories from previous days.…

For my first tri, I didn't have fatigue, but the vivid dreams that don't let me enter a deep sleep state leading to sleep deprivation started around 15 weeks and hasn't gone away yet. *ugh*

I would think you'd need lots of calcium to help the baby in forming his/her own bones because otherwise to get those nutrients they're going to be taken from you. I've heard that lack of calcium during pregnancy leads to dental issues and potential future osteoporsis (sp?). If you can't get enough calcium from foods, what…

If you haven't already bought a crib, check out Craig's List for your area. We did and we've found the following set below for half the cost of buying it brand new! Just looked at it tonight and it's in great shape and really sturdy; plan to pick it up this weekend! Definitely something to consider anyway :flowerforyou:…

I'm going to be adamant about this too! I don't understand why so many drs go for inducing/scheduling c-sections if the baby doesn't come on his/her own at 40 wks, when that's not technicially our due dates. if you stop to think about it, the due date they give us is based on the first day of your last period, not your…

Based on the last weight I logged before finding out I was pregnant, I've gained 7.5 lbs in 18 weeks. Not too bad I guess :drinker:

Being in the military, the flu shot is required for all active duty to maintain our readiness. The only choice we have is flu mist or flu shot (live vs. inactive virus). It's free so I'm not complaining, especially since I've never gotten sick with it <knock on wood>.

One thing to think about when you get stuck on "gaining weight" during your pregnancy is where all that weight is actually coming from as it's not all fat! If you focus on eating healthy during your pregnancy and tracking your calories and not on giving in to cravings and overdo it on fatty, high calorie/low nutrient dense…

We haven't really talked about it yet as we've got plenty of time (due in Feb), but I've been reading up on it and from what I can tell, is that it's more of a religious thing especially among Jews and Muslims, but elsewhere it's slowly declining in popularity. Studies have shown that there's no real difference between…

Same here. Something about the stronger abs making delivery easier for pushing or something like that.

Ooh, this too; I found a couple days that unseasoned chicken breast and potatoes was all I wanted to eat.
-
Make a smoothie out of the fruit, some yogurt and add some PB or protein powder to get your protein. When I didn't feel like eating anything I found I could always drink one of these.
-
A friend of mine said protein helped w/hers. She'd eat small meals every couple hours that included some protein. As long as she did this, she was ok.

So I finally felt movement today!! It's not a full on kick or anything, but it was definitely noticeable enough to know it was the baby  Can't wait for our u/s in Oct as I think I now want to know what it is!:blushing:

I was going to say this very same thing. Saw your response and good for you for taking the advice! Just to let you know, you may see a slight increase on the scale very short term when you first increase your cals, but after a few weeks it should start going in the direction you want as your body realizes it's getting more…

jls8209 - My hubby's the same way about not reusing names and also has a very large family (8 aunts/uncles, 26 cousins, plus cousins' kids, and that's just one side of the family!) So when we got married almost 8 years ago, I started making a list of names I came across and liked that weren't used so that I wouldn't have…

Being military, we have different uniforms to wear and specific days for each. Well, this week is exercise week and 1 uniform was authorized to wear for the whole week. Well, Monday I woke up and out of habit put on the uniform we would normally wear that day and, even though I remembered it was exercise week, I didn't…

A friend of mine is also pregnant right now and she found that when she got really nauseaus, that eating a little protein made it go away. Not sure if it would work the same for you, but just thought I'd share. Other folks mentioned ginger ale, ginger candy, ginger anything to help (I think it tastes nasty, and thankfully…

Ooh, LOVE this!!

Here's mine (too many to share just one!): "Oh, my friend, it's not what they take away from you that counts. It's what you do with what you have left." ~Hubert Humphrey "I'm not what I have done, I'm what I've overcome" ~Fireflight "Just when you think you've figured out all of life's answers, someone goes and changes all…

My next u/s isn't until week 23 as they look at the health of the baby, to include heart, arteries, etc. To the techs, their main priority is that; if they have time and the baby is positioned well, they'll take a look to determine boy or girl; but if they're not extremely positive on what it is, they won't call it. Let's…

Interesting that it wouldn't let me edit my post above. Well, girl's name is the same, but finally have 2 boys names I like (just came across them today) and hoping my hubby likes at least one of them or it's back to the drawing board! Girl: Micayla Renee Boy: Aiden Mitchell or Caden Reese

You mentioned spray oils to cook with. A cheaper alternative instead of buying the canned/aerosol cooking spray would be to still buy olive oil, then find a container that takes the oil and turns it into a spritz. We found a two-pack at Costco (I'm sure you can find them online at like amazon or wherever) and love it!…

Yup, naked before stepping in the shower.

I definitely have a girl name picked out and my husband hasn't vetoed it, nor offered a different one which makes me thinks we're good with it lol. For a boy's name.... yeah, many to chose from, but none sound good to me. Not sure what we're having yet; won't know for a few more weeks, but I'm hoping for a girl so I don't…

I'm 16w2d, and as of my last appt on Tues have only gained 1.5 lbs. My job keeps me fairly active as I do a lot of walking between bldgs and up/down stairs so I don't sit often. For two weeks we were on vacation and did a lot of walking/hiking. Other than that, I'm not as active as I'd like to be as I feel drained from…

I haven't felt anything yet, and really don't expect to until around 20-22 weeks (trying not to get my hopes up that I'll feel it sooner since I hate waiting ), but I swear the dogs (both female) can hear the heartbeat. One in particular constantly wants to be on my lap, touching my belly. So I'm definitely waiting…

^^^ This. I was reading an article the other day that, in a nuthell, said the US courts were staying out of it since it's an international sport that should be dealt w/by it's international bodies, but that the US felt the org was overreaching and did not have the evidence to support their accusations. Doesn't sound like…

Very nice! I'm pretty much the same way, but I have to log otherwise I find I won't eat enough, even when I was hungry, as I'd eat normal, but since I have to eat more (maintenance + some) I wasn't eating what I should have been. Otherwise I wouldn't necessarily worry about logging either (especially since I'll do the…
