  • First, congratulations on a successful week and sticking to your plan!!! Second, I agree with both above me, that it is probably mostly water weight this week, and also 2 lbs a week on a reasonable deficit is attainable, for about 22-25 lbs in your time frame. You'll be amazed at how much even that will change your body!!…
  • Completely agree with the ones who say eat your 1200 + go ahead and have fun on your night out. Maybe exercise a little more to "earn" your calories back, but I also think if you're only aiming for 1200, you're too low on average. It's only an opinion, but those who strive for 1200 or less are only doing damage in the long…
  • I can finally wear shorts without feeling extremely self conscious, and/or without doing the "funny/crooked" walk to try to minimize them riding up in between my thighs, or constantly tugging on them to bring them back out of my crotch. I can run in short sleeves without getting a horrible rash from "brush burn" on my…
  • If you buy them by the box, you can get for $24.99 on amazon, vitaminshoppe.com or the actual quest site and generally find a way for free shipping....that works out to 2.08 a bar roughly. If you watch the quest site, they often run promos for free bars, or bogo 1/2 off, and you can also often find a coupon for gnc or…
  • I haven't read them all, but I'm in for it not being about "skinny" but healthy, active and happy. It's not about dieting, it is about making different choices. Your friend sounds like he unfortunately couldn't find a happy medium, and that part does take time; but once you do, the things you gain such as confidence and…
  • mmmmm.........primantis...i don't care if you're on a diet or not, it's a MUST try if you're coming to our great city!! There's a great app called Healthy Out available where you can put in your specialty "diet" and it will search nearby restaurants that have menu items for you! Depending on what area of the city you'll be…
  • Agreed. Your body doesn't know what day of the week it is, and I've heard quite a few people having success with this type of method, and it helps them to stay on track. Congrats on your success so far!!! But I also agree with above about performance and such...you need power and energy to lift especially. Maybe you can…
  • Awesome source of protein and fat...I have lately become ADDICTED to Jif natural crunchy peanut butter. I scoop 1 tablespoon and eat plain pre-workout usually, and 1 tablespoon at night before bed with my casein. I'm drooling right now just thinking about it...
  • I'm personally in love with Body Beast from Beachbody~ it is 6 days a week, BUT, I don't do the cardio day b/c I also run, and sometimes if I need a break on an extra day, I'll skip legs, so there, you're at 4! Most of the workouts are only 30-35 minutes, the longest being the first 3 weeks which are about 45 min each, but…
  • bump---would love to try some of these!
  • Hi Connie! I'm a Pgh girl myself and ex WW girl :) Feel free to add me as I love to try and help and give advice and/or tips! There's also a group called Pittsburgh Pride, and some of the people are trying to gather on weekends or days off to run, hike, walk, etc....can't hurt to join that also if you're not a part of it!
  • Hi Taylor, welcome to mfp and congrats on your decision to get fit for life the healthy and right way!! I also struggled with my weight for years and years, up and down until I finally had my *moment* and realized enough is and was enough!! Feel free to add me; I try to inspire and motivate as much as I can on my friend…
  • I feel like I'm eating ALL the time. I eat at least 5 small meals a day, sometimes 6 or 7. More for curbing hunger like some have said...keeps me from overindulging on any given meal....well, most of the time anyway. For me, it's worked wonderfully, but the true point is, that only the deficit will help you lose weight.…
  • AMAZING job so far!!! Keep pushing play and doing what you're doing!!
  • Hahaha!! I could've written this!! I end up sending it to my boyfriend's work, taking it to his family who lives close, or bringing it to my work for our employees. I love some of the other ideas here that people have posted though!!
  • I'm 33 and dated as much as +12 years and -5 years. Current boyfriend is almost 3 years younger and sometimes the difference in maturity really shows. Unfortunately, the difference also showed in +12 years where he'd look at the funeral home board every day we drove past it just to see who he knew that died lol. That's…
  • Last year it was about perfect! Only mistake I made was not wearing a layer I could shed about 1/2 way through. See you there this year!! (In the crowd of thoussannnnddddsss) lol :flowerforyou:
  • It started for inspiration and to get myself under control. Now it's about helping others learn some of the lessons I've learned the hard way and inspiring as much as I can. Some of the MFP friends I've made have become closer in certain ways than my IRL friends just because we have the same goals, passions and mindset.
  • I haven't read them all, but I'll be one to say 80 when it's 30 and 30 when it's 80 :noway: Right now it's like 8...so 80 all the way!!!
  • I was just going to say the same. If you choose to go with MFP numbers, at least eat back some...you wont do your body any favors by under eating. But another way is to figure out your TDEE on your own using various sites that are available, and then just track your calories burned as 1, or ignore eating them back. You'll…
  • Bumping...I LOVE reading these!!! So many awesome people and fabulous inspirations!
  • You are so full of awesomeness!!!! Keep up the hard work girl!!! :flowerforyou:
  • Congrats on facing your fear!! That's awesome!! I still have to join a gym to make it into the room, but I loved reading that you faced it and lived :flowerforyou:
  • I'm a manly work in progress...totallllly joining in!! Luluchick, you know you're my hero..
  • LOL! Thought I may be the only one who noticed that and watched him a lot!! :) OP, it's a GREAT workout, even if he didn't bounce around a lot...I had some fabulous results with it and still use it as a supplemental workout when I have extra time or am not sure what to do! By far, one of my favorites out there!!

  • Well this has turned into a VERY entertaining 7 pages...wanted to jump in now to see the rest!! Where'd OP go??? :brokenheart:
  • Absolutely! Last year when I decided to run my first, I was not a runner. Nor was I in shape. The first day I was only able to run 1/2 mile. That was Jan/Feb. I started training with the above mentioned Hal Higdon schedule for 12 weeks, and finished my first half marathon in 2:18:08. You can do it!!
  • This is exactly what I try to do in these cases...there's a lot of info out in the calorie database on here....some good and some not so much. I try to look at what is more "normal" when there are a lot to choose from and then choose one in the mid range of that. Great job with wanting to keep consistent at tracking!!
