Thank you all! I'd asked a Korean friend to accompany me to the gym as a translator, and it turns out I'm not the first foreigner to complain about this woman's antics. The staff said they'd talk to her again and if she doesn't relent, they'll ask her to leave the gym.

I can't get enough of step aerobics! I grew tired of the treadmill, elliptical trainer, stationary bike etc so decided to give the step a go... It's a great workout and you'll enjoy it so much that you lose track of time. Just watch a few videos on Youtube, download a few dance tunes and you're good to go!

I'd say do it for cardio. Yes, it will probably "tone" your butt as there is resistance. However, if you want to see major changes, start lifting.
