Help! She's filming me at the gym!

Hi, all!
I'm all the way in South Korea, and live in a neighbourhood that has a small expat community. So, foreigners in this area are few and far between. I do get the occassional stare for looking different and I'm fine with that. I've been here for a while and never have I ever had someone brazenly take a picture/video of me without my knowledge.
About two months ago, I was doing a bit of cardio at the gym, using the aerobic step. Not far from me, was a middle aged Korean woman, sitting on a gym ball and with her phone held high towards my direction. Once I spotted her, she quickly lowered her phone and continued texting. I didn't think much of it. The second time was when I was using the squat rack. Again, I thought I was just imagining things but I thought I'd keep an eye on her. A month passed and I forgot about the incident.
Three days ago, however, I'd been deadlifting when I spotted her in the mirror, filming me from behind! This is the last straw! What do I do? How do I handle this situation?
Please help!

Tell her to stop as you don't want to be filmed.
Be assertive.0 -
Ask why she's filming you, and then tell her not to film you anymore. Can you talk to the staff?0

This and report her to the gym management, telling them that you have asked her to stop, so that they are aware of the situation.0 -

Yeah. That's creepy as hell0 -

This. Assertive =/= rude. Really.
And even if you were rude...well, she was being rude first.0 -

Yep. No need to treat her nicely when she's a total creep.0 -

This...you never know...maybe she's recording your form so she can get that good?0 -
Start filming back with a really clunky, obvious recording device. And/or just stare at her.

i would stare into the camera and start picking my nose... really good... im not joking...0

girl she might be filming you trying to see if you fit in her crawlspace. i wouldnt even confront her because that's CREEPTASTIC and you never want creeps to know that you are aware that they are in your bushes.
Just go tell the gym management and tell them that it's rightfully maing you uncomfortable0 -
South Korea is really sensitive about filming/photos of others without permission. Ask her to stop and let the management know as soon as possible. Good luck ^_^0

It's a setup.........0

Push into her space and start taking your clothes off (but not really). I'm sure that will scare her away.0

I'm not sure. Maybe she has a creepster crush on the OP.0 -
Might be worth learning a couple of choice phrases in Korean.0
-
Confront her. Look directly in to the phone. Then kick her in the box.0

Either way, it would confirm what's going on.0 -
My Korean is a bit rusty, but I think the Korean word for "No" is "On-nea". That and report to gym management.0

Maybe she's trying to sell you online. I'd definitely get her to stop. Use all avenues until she does. Have the management threaten to ban her.0

I wouldnt even bother confronting her. Tell the management immediately. Point her out. If she does it again, stop exercising and immediately inform the management.0

I would tell staff at the gym when she is not around, that way they can be keeping an eye on her while your back is turned and catch her doing it.0

How creepy! You should report her to the gym's management, and also next time you catch her doing this, STARE HER DOWN with intense, evil eyes while shaking your head no. I'm sure she'll get it.0
-
I'd accidently step on her phone....or report her to the management.0
-
Ask her if she has heard the word that Jesus Loves Her and that she can have eternal life thru Jesus Christ.0
-
Go to Management and then along with them confront her loud and clear just in case she is a closet psycho. That is absurd. I would call her out in front of everyone so that everyone is aware of what this patron is doing.
On a lighter note you could get a fart machine and put it in your bag and as you squat hit the button. That would make great commentary for whatever film she is creating :laugh:0 -
If she's looking away quickly and stopping when she sees you saw her......that would put up a red flag for me. She obviously knows it's wrong. My first thought is that she's showing your pics to someone and saying how awesome you are. But to be safe you should tell management and/or ask her why she's taking your pics. She might have a genuine innocent reason. Maybe she thinks you'd be perfect for her son............lol0

Thank you all! I'd asked a Korean friend to accompany me to the gym as a translator, and it turns out I'm not the first foreigner to complain about this woman's antics. The staff said they'd talk to her again and if she doesn't relent, they'll ask her to leave the gym.0
-
Man that would p*ss me off. I'd follow them round with my own camera asking why they felt the need to film me...really stick the camera in their face. Some people are just nasty0
-
Maybe she never seen a black lady before?
Act like you have magic power, say some gibberish and do some funky stuff with your hands pointed in her direction. That'll freak her out good.0
