I like that. I think I was your neighbor before ha ha. When I would randomly sign up for 5k's and never train, I didn't consider myself a runner, just something to do. But I feel like its been different now as you have talked about.
-
Then I hope never to be a runner, because nothing about that sounds fun =)
-
Thanks everyone =) It was cool to read everyones thoughts on this.

That is awful, but honestly doesn't sound like a good friend. One thing I have learned is to surround myself with supportive people because its the only way for me to be successful. I remember being there and there is hope. Change can happen. Feel free to add me if you need support =)

i could never do this- i have a friend that gives me a hard time for listening to music while i run, he would be a huge fan of this post

I read that you are supposed to drink half your weight in oz of water. So if you weighed 100 lbs, 50 oz~ 200 lbs, 100 oz. I try to follow that rule. And then I add more in with running
-
I weigh myself every morning right after I wake up
-
Love love love Zumba, hated the videos. But that is just me
-
I drink a lot of water!

Getting there-- almost there, =)

Yeah during this period-- I would be really strict with your food -- losing weight is mostly about eating differently. But you can also shadow box, water aerobics, a stationary bike if it won't hurt too much, an arm bike....

I get mine is most days. But I have to be aware of it-- I make more trips every where. I am an awesome multi tasker and I have stopped doing that. I park further away and walk to the stores. I do things to make sure that I move more. It was hard at first, but easy once I got used to it.

The first time I went I was overwhelmed and I didn't know what I was doing. I just kept telling myself, that everyone starts out feeling like this and just keep doing what I am doing and I will gain confidence. Well it works, and now i look out for other new people and try to guide them along =)

Excited-- Looking like I will beat my miles for last month:
-
Excited with my progress and we are only 9 days in!!

just drink smarter-- so I have an alcoholic drink and then two waters, another drink, etc. It makes me feel fuller so I dont drink as much. I still have a good time and I drink more drinks that have less calories now =) and like someone said-- watch the eating late at night

running and zumba and t25 have been the best for me

Thanks!! that is me every week saying wow I completed x miles... last weekend was 8 miles! My half is April 6th-- so I am pretty ahead of the game, which is how I like to do things ha ha. I am running a 10 mile race in 3 weekends yikes! But excited and thanks =)
-
Welcome back, feel free to add me. I have done some 5k's and like you haven't been able to run one. But I ran a 5 miler not to long ago and plan on running a 10 mile race in 3 weeks. As well as I signed up for a half in April =)

I am training for a half marathon in April and I blog about my progress, or hiccups =) Its my first and I am excited, feel free to add me =)

I think it depends on you really. A lot of the times I run in the morning I just have water and go. If its going to be a long run, I will put a breakfast bar in my coat. But generally I am fine. Last week I ran 8 miles in the morning and just had a breakfast bar before I left.

Try to add those calories in earlier- plan for them. So bring fruit or veggies or sometimes I will throw in microwave popcorn, nuts, string cheese.
-
Sweet-- I will do this again =) This month I will set my goal higher, last month my goal was 75 and I got 101, This month I will do 100 =)
-
Yeah I have lost 159 lbs in 5 years and a couple months. But last year I lost 38 of it. =)
-
So I started running (non successfully) when I was about 225. When I look back I realize why I was unsuccessful and it didn't have to do with my weight, but my pace. I always tried to run fast and then I would tire out quickly. I would do 5k's and be alright-- but I had no pattern, I would run until exhaustion, walk until…

The end when it is over =) Feeling that even if I didn't want to do it, It's done. And the natural high from the endorphins =)

Thanks everyone. One of the things I have learned is to trust in the process and keep making good decisions. Accept that I may have a bad day and move on. I try not to set goals with limits, like lose 10 lbs in 2 months because thats when I find myself getting frustrated or what not. I just keep doing the right thing and…
