  • This is happening to me right now. it was fine earlier and now has removed calories earned and won't synch. Does it fix itself?
  • Mine was fine earlier and all of a sudden it says I've only earned 10 calories... even though I've walked over 17k steps! Hope it fixes soon it's almost bedtime here and I want to complete my day!
  • I'd have thought that if anyone would understand, it would be people who practice yoga. Everyone I know who does is either veggie or vegan. I agree with previous post, bring something for everyone to share.
  • Best of luck! Here are my top tips: - the internet is your friend - on here, other forums, FB, Twitter and loads of recipe sites/blogs - check out, among others, FatFreeVegan, JL Goes Vegan and the PPK. - invest in a couple of good cook books - anything by Isa Chandra Moskowitz or Terry Hope Romero is a good starting…
  • To me, detox basically means clean eating. I try to do it as much as possible - but could never do a juice detox or anything like that as I think they are a bit dangerous. Today I have had a fruit bar, raspberries, melon, squash and kidney bean chilli and veggie soup w rice noodles. I also had a soya latte... but hell, how…
  • Try these sites: happyherbivore.com fatfreevegan.com theppk.com jlgoesvegan.com
  • I eat about 90% vegan and have been veggie for 22.5 years. I used to just put up and shut up with the taunts and jibes and name calling... but over the years I have lost patience for it. Now I answer back (politely but firmly) and remove people from my friend circles if they can't accept my way of life. In particular I…
  • Chilli with kidney beans or curry with red lentils.
  • Interesting thread! I eat vegan 95% of the time but never call myself vegan because of years of problems caused by people who say they're vegetarian but eat chicken or fish. I do however order vegan catering when at work events so a lot of people think I am vegan. It's a hard call but I don't think I should muddy the…
  • Parsnip - cut them thin to get them really crispy!
  • Do you have Appetite for Reduction? The Red Thai Tofu in it is amazing and I bake instead of fry the tofu.
  • Very well done! I buy myself new cookbooks every year on my veggieversary. Having been one for 21 years, I have quite a collection!
  • A few more links - happyherbivore.com, fatfreevegan.com and theppk.com. Also check out the Happy Herbivore books and Appetite for Reduction - I live out of them these days.
  • I'm veggie too so meatless every day! Tonight I'm making paella - cook paella rice in stock with garlic, onion and saffron. Fry loads of veg in spray oil (broad beans, courgettes, tomatoes and chard for me tonight) then stir in to rice with lots of chopped flatleaf parsley and a good squeeze of a lemon. Yum!
  • Think of it like this - you are incredibly lucky to live somewhere that has that amount of veggie choice. Where I live, 3 options is almost unheard of - that's a VAST choice to me and would totally confuse me cos I wouldn't know what to pick lol!
  • Check out the Happy Herbivore www.happyherbivore.com there are recipes online, she has two great cookbooks and she even does meal plans which I love. Also look at www.fatfreevegan.com.
  • Fried tomatoes and mushrooms on toast Porridge w peanut butter and apple sauce Fruit, soya yog and a couple of tbsp of oats or granola Scrambled tofu w lots of veg I also like to have leftover dinner for breakfast, if I'm eating at home!
  • Thanks so much everyone for all the great advice! The one I have was bought on a whim from Lidl and cost £15 so no wonder it has died lol!

  • Loads of great advice here. Happy Herbivore is a great resource - I'm currently using her meal plans. The internet is your friend for sure there are so many sites and blogs, all for free. Lots of soups and stews using veggies and pulses can be really cheap and easy as well as tasty. Happy to be friends if I can help yuo…
  • Everyone else (apart from the obvious *kitten*!) has covered this pretty well but I just wanted to add www.fatfreevegan.com to the list of great websites. If there's anything in particular you want a recipe for, just ask me - I have over 140 cookbooks and a huge collection of magazines!
  • A4R and TKD are brilliant as mentioned above - also check out fatfreevegan.com and happyherbivore.com for loads of amazing low fat vegan recipes :-)
  • I agree re Happy Herbivore and also her website happyherbivore.com - check out fatfreevegan.com too. I'm not totally vegan yet but working on it and my OH is totally omni. Sometimes we do eat completely different things but sometimes we eat similar ie I will make a stir fry or noodle soup and he will add meat, or I'll do…
  • Lot's of good advice here. I have a new tip that I got from Happy Herbivore - buy dark chocolate chips and have a tbsp of them and eat them one (or two!) at a time - they really last if you suck them and you get that chocolate hit. Alpro soya puddings are great too, if you can get them there. I'm the opposite - I go mad…
  • I have the same one and wear it for exercise and it seems pretty accurate to me ie it tallies with what the MFP database says for walking/jogging.
  • A yummy green veg soup - half a courgette, a small bulb of fennel and a small pale-green pepper all diced, cooked in 600ml stock with 80g basmati rice, then add some chopped spinach and a tbsp of vegan pesto and stir to wilt. YOM!
  • Loads of great replies here. The internet is your friend - check out happyherbivore.com, fatfreevegan.com and theppk.com. Lots of sites have resources for going veggie/vegan too - PETA, Viva, Animal Aid, The Vegetarian Society etc. Good luck!
  • Tenderstem broccoli with some chilli, ginger and garlic and a very little oil, wrapped in foil - cooks in 5 mins!
  • Hi! There are loads of things you can eat - especially at home - you may be a bit more stuck eating out and have to bring along a GF bread roll for your soup! Here are three of my favourite recipes which are all GF - the internet is your friend and you will find many more on sites such as happyherbivore.com.…
