The water trick only works for me if I'm not actually hungry. If I'm bored or stressed,it can relieve the urge to eat something, but if I am really and truly hungry I've got to eat something!

JEALOUS. I've been dying to try one but I have to go pretty far out of my way for a Taco Bell (probably a good thing). Report back with a full review. We must know.

Wow, you sound single.

Also, as far as carbs go, I wouldn't sweat it. Like others have said, try and hit your goals for protein and fat though. For example, if you find that your carbs are high but your protein is low, substitute some meat, nuts, avocado, egg, etc for a couple servings of fruit or bread (or whatever else seems to be adding up in…

Well then I guess I'm an uncivilized heathen because I certainly don't say no every time I should. Since you're here, I'm assuming that you didn't either at some point.

I usually hit my macros and I take a multivitamin, so possibly. Hopefully.

Mine is set to 1210 to lose 1.5 per week with 33 to lose. I'll be bumping down to 1 per week soon, but I think were I am is ok for now. This is based on MFP recommendations considering BMR and a sedentary activity level. When I eat high protein and high fat foods, I can typically stick to that without much griping as long…

I think it's fair to ask her to help out a little more. If baby is down for four hours, maybe ask her to invest half of that taking care of daily chores. Unless you live in a palace, that's enough time to get daily housework done. She's still getting more down time than you are (in theory) during the day, so I really don't…

I highly suggest you not attempt this. You may lose 1lb per week in the beginning, but it'll probably look more like 0.5 or less per week after that, and that's still with a fairly restrictive caloric intake. When you have that little to lose and you're already a fairly healthy weight, it comes off very slowly. Consider it…

I agree with others that suggest you eat more. Lots more. With a lot to lose, you can certainly eat much more and still lose at a very good pace. As an aside, if keto is how you really want to pursue this, you need to approach it as a lifestyle change. I know a lot of people that have been very successful with this diet,…

I think what you're looking for is PubMed. Considering we don't know precisely what "it" is that you're looking to validate/invalidate and there are many thousands of studies out there on weight loss and nutrition, you may just want to run the search on your own.

If there's one thing I learned in my twenties, it's to put your time and energy into relationships that give back. After college I realized that some of my friendships were a little one sided, and we gradually grew apart. I'm not saying to ditch your friend, but maybe it's time to branch out and find some people that give…

Thank you cards for formal gifts (showers, weddings, large birthday parties, etc) are a must. For me, the line blurs when it's a close friend and I can call to say thank you, or say thank you in person. I also do thank you notes for dinner parties and other similar events. When I was looking for a job after college I also…

From your diary it does look like you're eating enough, but you also have to listen to your body. Maybe you should play around with things and see how you feel at 1300 or even 1400. I sometimes sneak in a 1400 calorie day when I'm hungry and I don't feel guilty at all. I know people that alternate between a 1200 and a 1400…

I'm not a vegetarian, and a lot of people might consider this more of a breakfast, but here is what I had for dinner: Mexican Salsa Scramble 3 X Large eggs 2 babybell light cheese wheels (any cheese will do but it's all I had and didn't want to go to the store) 110 g avocado, cubed (1 small avocado) 4 tbsp TJ's Double…

I walk a 16min mile, which is awfully close to 4mph. The MFP estimates are notoriously very high, but plenty of people use them so I guess it's not a big deal.
-
I was thinking the same thing. I usually have to hit about 6 miles over the course of the day to hit 100 calories on my Jawbone. Even if I did it all at once, I think 100 calories per mile is a gross overestimation for most people.

Also don't listen to the girl who's eating like 600-900 calories a day. There's no reason to do that to yourself.

I think this was already suggested, but finding a schedule that works for you can be really helpful. I personally don't eat breakfast, but I do two daytime snacks, a larger dinner, and a late night snack. Being on a schedule sort of trained me to respond to time-specific hunger cues, which works well for me. Second, do eat…

I would go to costco or another bulk retailer and stock up on healthy snacks like nuts, protein bars, bags of oranges, etc. Stuff like that will be great to tuck in a purse or in the car to cut down on fast food trips.

I don't know how you're not starving. Not only is that nowhere near enough calories, but those foods don't seem to be very filling or protein-rich. You should really consider increasing your intake, add some protein and fat to your diet, and be patient. Keep going like you are and you're going to start losing hair,…

Literally the best reason I've heard. You can't beat two buck chuck and the cat on the bottle is like icing on the boozy cake.

Whole Foods is wonderful, but I tend to go to Trader Joe's almost exclusively. Their produce is affordable and I dig that their in-house brands don't use ingredients with GMOs. I can get a whole week's worth of groceries at TJ's for around $80, which is pretty special in NYC. At whole foods, I'm lucky to get out with the…

Thanks! I gave the search a shot and it came up with a lot of folks debating which fitness tracker was best but not much about calorie adjustments. Oh well, I didn't really intend to eat back too many of my exercise calories anyway!

Anybody? Bueller?

I've never heard so many excuses in my life. I know plenty of vegans who get enough fat and protein in their diet and don't break the bank to do it. Food isn't sold by the calorie.

I'm 22lbs down and I don't see it at all. However, I'm down a size in pants and the boyfriend says I'm looking lighter. I recently was in some pictures in a bathing suit and thought, "Wow I'm still a chub-o" but maybe I'm being too hard on myself.
