5'8" and 168lbs - I started at about 190lb and a tight size 12 and now I'm down to a 10. However, I just put on my first pair of 8s today!

I'm kind of in a similar position with my SO. He needs to lose weight much more so than I do - he needs to lose about 50lb to get back down to "slightly soft" - the way he was when we met. I put on about 15lbs since we started dating as well. I've lost the 15 and then some and I'm well on my way to achieving my goal while…

If you open your diary, I (and many others I'm sure) can give you some advice on how to get the most bang for your caloric buck. Trying to eat a diet high in protein, dietary fat, and complex carbs will ultimately lead you to be more satisfied. **edited to make actual damn sense

Focus on getting a lot of protein and fat into your diet - these keep you fuller longer. The carbs in your diet should ideally come from mostly whole grains and natural sugars (sugar from fruits, veggies, and dairy).

Tuna, cottage cheese, and nuts are all great. For snacks I'll also go for a Kind bar or a Quest bar because they're sweet and high protein/low sugar. Nut butters (fresh or with little to no sugar added) are also great. I also cook a lot using olive or coconut oils, which are fairly healthy for you and (obviously) high in…

Booze. And drunk snacks. Nothing hit the spot in college quite like a spicy fried chicken sandwich with cheese, pickles, ketchup, and mayo. I managed to carry on the tradition well into adulthood with a bottle of wine a night plus whatever sounded good on seamless.

If you plan on attempting to go paleo as a lifestyle - then go for it. It certainly won't hurt you, and a lot of people are very happy doing it. If you are planning on "the paleo diet" where you think you can eat paleo to lose x pounds and then go back to whatever, then I strongly advise against it. Whatever your plan for…

Very hard to give any advice without your diary open. You likely need to eat more protein during the day, or up your daily intake altogether. If it's just a routine thing for you and you are eating enough during the day, then it's a question of will power. Throw away the high fat, high sugar, processed "trigger foods" to…

I've seen a lot of folks on this site in your same position, and I've noticed that some people choose to break it up into smaller goals (i.e. set your ticker to lose 20, then again to lose the next 30, and so on). That might make it seem less daunting, and it'll give you some milestones to celebrate!

They're probably the one article of women's clothing that men love as much as women do. They're comfy as hell and do wonders for the booty.

You can get the skinny vanilla latte iced - a venti is only 110 calories I think. Also, I love the iced passion tea and if you get it unsweetened it's only around five calories! You can add splenda or sugar to sweeten if you want and it remains pretty reasonable, especially with the splenda!

This is rather strange, but I find that I usually plateu for two weeks, then lose rapidly for about two weeks. My weeks of loss are the two weeks following my time of the month, and many times I'll drop 4-8lbs during that time but have no loss in the weeks following. Perhaps this is related to your monthly cycle?

This is a great idea, especially since it seems like your parents aren't understanding the gravity of your situation. At the very least, your guidance counselor can help you speak with your parents about finding someone for you to talk to - be that a nutritionist, doctor, or therapist.

I had about 55lbs to lose, and I'm almost half way there. It can be done, but patience is key! Feel free to add me - friends on here have been a great motivator for me!

Hi there! I work full time in a hospital and I'm also a full time student. I totally get how tough it is to muster up the motivation to go to the store. Feel free to add me and we can support each other :)

Count me in!

Nope, sure can't. And proud of it. Now, please excuse yourself, troll. You're so obvious it hurts.

Obviously, we (the internet) don't know all of the great things about your relationship with this guy that have kept you together for so long. That being said, it sounds like he's putting up excuses and maybe just isn't ready to get married. The fact that he used something so hurtful to excuse his unwillingness to commit…

I feel like this has to be a troll. If it's not, OP please get help. 500 calories per day is dangerous to anyone of any size and any activity level.

Going shopping and not immediately grabbing the largest size available off the rack. I recently got into some "medium" sized shorts and tops and it was really encouraging!

Pretty much the only way to do 1200/day is to do it with high protein intake. If you look a few weeks back in my diary, there are some good examples of what I ate those days. Usually a protein bar for lunch and a lean protein with veggies for dinner with some snacks thrown in throughout the day. I also tried to make sure I…

I sometimes retain water around ovulation and around my period. It's fairly normal. Also, if you recently increased your physical activity, there is a chance that your muscles are retaining a bit more water than usual. Taking measurements might be a good idea so that you can see your progress off the scale too!

haha yes! you're internet famous

Adding lemon or lime juice over the top of something often satisfies that savory craving for me and cuts down significantly on the amount of salt I put on my food. I'm a salt junkie, but when I became more mindful of my sodium intake I definitely noticed that I felt less bloated most days. Don't cut it out entirely, but…

We're also not supposed to use men's office supplies because they, too, are far too heavy for us. Our fingers might get muscular.

Literally just saw your post on reddit... Congrats, you look great!

I've been known to delete loud advocates of VLCD diets. Before deleting, I'll send a message to them and ask them what their goals are and why they're trying to do it - if they don't want to listen to any sort of reason, I just have to pass on the friendship. I've been at points in my life where my relationship with food…
