  • I just have a big house and 3 kids and get close to 10k/day. More if I run errands out or anything.
  • You arent. Your BP is bad, but not awful. My BP was 160/140 for a while. The nurse asked me how I was able to walk into the office.
  • My BP was worse than that and is now a very healthy 118/74, through diet and exercise alone. I am totally off BP medication (which I hated) so yeah... work for it... you'll get there and faster than you think!
  • I read that to be "be a size 46" and thought... im a guy and our sizes are different, but I think thats pretty big. Does EU have different dress sizes too? :-D
  • My wife believes that all of my weight loss has come from the gym. While it certainly hasnt hurt anything, thats not how it happens. She thinks im going to put it all back on now that I am injured and wont be able to work out for a while.
  • Yes - he stopped as did 2 other cars. The paramedics, rescue and police were all there within 8 minutes of the accident. Im considering just staying at my current intake of 2775. Ive been working hard in the gym and the last thing I want to do is lose much of that. I know I will some, but even at 2775 that still has me in…
  • Just to add to the fun, in order for you to gain 1kg just from this meal, you would have had to be 7700 calories over your maintenance. I would bet you money you cant eat that much in one sitting.
  • I have between 2 and 400 calories worth of veggies a day. Not counting veggies would be like not counting tootsie pops (also have 2-400 calories of a day)
  • Im just intimidated by your awesome. And married.
  • A general guild is 1 gram of protein for each pound of lean muscle mass you have. SO... if you weight 200 pounds and have 30% body fat (30% of 200 is 60), you have 140 LBM. So you should eat around 140 grams of protein a day.
  • Reduce calories if you want to lose weight. Do cardio if you want to look good in your clothes. Lift weights if you want to look great naked.
  • Thats a really good idea. I love the idea of T4T. Every kid deserves a present. We volunteered at the St Baldricks event this summer. It was special.
  • Leaving for a 7 day eastern Caribbean cruise on the 16th. Im not worried about gaining weight, but I am worried about tracking my numbers... I dont like gaps in my spreadsheets. Makes me OCD nutty. :)
  • We cant help you if you dont open your diary.
  • Yeah - ya got me. Totally how I roll.
  • We do. We were just looking to do something special on top of that for Christmas this year.
  • That's my dilemma... there are TONS of them. My church supports 3 - all of which are special. One is a food bank, one is a group home for abused children and one is an after school program for at risk youth. My MIL is involved in several others, all of which support kids. I guess what im asking is 'is there a way to pick'…
  • I would definitely eat more. I would switch to use the TDEE method. It made a big difference with me... I eat a ton more now and still lose as fast as I want to. :)
  • Birthdays are special for little kids. Its about what makes them happy. She remembers fond times where she has had pop-tarts. Very likely that has something to do with a trip taken with you. Get her a box of pop tarts. It'll make her day special. Might sound weird to you, but seriously... did you really expect to…
  • When I first started I was losing too fast too. ~3.5 lb/week. Know how I fixed it? I ate more. I know you say you struggle with eating now... but its the same thing you did to eat less, in reverse. Plan your day and then eat it all. You'll get there. I now eat 2775 calories a day, am never hungry, always have plenty of…
  • Sorry - you do not have a flat stomach. You have all those muscles... not flat.
  • Its all about calories in and calories out. Burn more than you take in, you lose weight. Opposite applies too. Your calories could come from vodka and twinkies or boiled kale... doesnt matter. A calories is a calorie. That being said, its easier to lose weight eating 'good' foods (by and large) because they are generally…
  • I dont understand those kinds of people either. The only thing taboo from everyday conversation is politics. :)
  • You know you're my hero, right? Just saying... got a bit of a geek based man crush on ya. :)
  • Formerly worked in the clubs (bouncer, not entertainer). Formerly married to adult film star.
  • Have you considered 3 beers instead of lunch? Just askin. :-D Seriously though... Chik-Fil-A is pretty low calories if you dont eat a giant waffle fries with it. The grilled sandwiches are in the 2-300 range.
  • Ive lost a ton of inches from everywhere... but my scale doesnt move more than a half a pound, up and down... then one day it will drop 4 pounds and that will me my new weight to fluctuate at for a few weeks. Scales are evil. They poison your brain. Trust your eyes.
  • Maybe skinny girl poops more than the rest of us... ETA: wait no... thats still calories out.
  • It really is. As we get older, our bodies burn less calories to perform the same actions. So when you were 20 it took you 3000 calories to get through a day of activity where at 40 it might only take 2000. If you have the same amount of fuel, that extra fuel has to be used somewhere (you can neither create or destroy…
  • No - it still works 100% of the time. The difference with the medical issue folk is that the number of calories burned is different than the mainstream. If they were to burn more than their intake they would still lose weight. That number just appears to be different for them. Its still 100%.
