  • I have taken Paxil for 3 years. In that time, I've gained 45 lbs. I went to the doctor on July 2 to ask the doctor to please take me off the medicine. I originally started taking it a few months prior to my divorce. At 20 mg per day I feel fatigued & have a horrible brain fog. The doctor has cut my Paxil to 10mg per day &…
  • I take 37.5mg of Phen every morning. My heart does not race & I sleep well. The only side effect I have is the dry mouth which just makes me drink more water so plus for me. I stay away from caffeine because the directions & my doctor instructed me to do so. Phen is not a cure all. Any person that goes back to eating a…
  • I'm taking Phentermine now. It's helping me & I feel great. Don't worry about those that make negative comments. Do what you need to do for you & good luck on your journey.
  • I just got a prescription for Phen yesterday. I didn't ask for it. I take 20mg of Paxil per day & I have gained close to 50 lbs over the past 3 years on it. I have been actively logging her for 60 days & I've only lost 6 lbs. I actually asked the doctor to take me off the Paxil because I'm always so tired & my mind feels…
  • Binged on McDonald's earlier today & I still can't get that salt taste out of my mouth. I was craving it so bad & it just wasn't good anymore. Now it's a ton of water to flush all that sodium. Totally not worth it.
  • I was wondering this myself as I am going on vacation next week. I will have internet so I plan on logging but I plan on not stressing if I go over. I'm just going to not go over maintenance. There will be lots of walking, swimming, & shopping going on so I'm not going to worry about exercise so much. I do plan on taking…
  • My answer is sodium too. I looked at the last 3 days & you were well over your sodium every day. Cut back on the sodium intake & drink water. I saw that you don't log your water intake so you may not be drinking enough to flush the excess sodium & your body is retaining water.
  • I'm 5'2.75". My starting weight was 184, currently at 178. My goal weight is 135.
  • Thanks for this thread. I'm going on vacation in a few weeks & have been really worried about food during vacation. I even have planned on taking my scales with me. This makes me feel so much better about being on vacation & just having fun with my family.
  • Thanks for all the great replies. I'm not afraid of the bar, I just don't want to do too much too soon. The idea of using dumbbells to start is great. Also, the pushups, planks, squats without weights is a great place for me to start. I want to learn proper technique & work my way up. Thanks for all the great advice.
  • I loved the 5x5 concept on the website & I would love to get there but I know it's not for me right now. I like the idea of resistance bands, etc. to start to build the strength I need. Thanks.
  • Thank you. I'm going to check that out now.
  • I drink a high protein slim fast most weekday mornings for breakfast along with a piece of fruit. I'm busy most mornings before work & it's easy to have at my desk. Don't drink the regular slim fast. High protein is the way to go.
  • I am so sorry for your loss. I wonder if maybe you're not eating your emotions over your loss. I know I do. If I'm upset, I tend to eat badly.
  • Oh my word!! I love junk food & I do go to McDonalds occasionally. I've been at this for 30 days & I've already learned that I really have to watch my sodium or the scale will go up between .5 - 1 lb. depending on what I ate. I keep an apple or banana in my purse most of the time. When I forget my snack, I stop at the…
  • I work just around the corner from Harris Teeter. They have a great salad bar. Most of the time my salad is garden salad, grilled chicken, diced turkey, 2 hard boiled egg whites, a few bacon bits, croutons, & light italian dressing. I only fill up half the container & its around 300 calories. I get lots of protein from the…
  • Once I started logging the things I was eating, things like icees got less appealing. I still have sweets every now & then but I've cut my portions in half or maybe even a third of what I would have in the past. Yesterday I even tossed half a Sierra Mist Natural after I logged it & saw how much sugar I was going to be…
  • I used WW in the past & had some success with it but I got stuck at a weight pretty quickly. I got discouraged because I was doing everything right by the book & I was losing nothing. I gained that weight back plus some after I quit because I didn't really gain any knowledge about how to eat. With MFP I've lost 4 lbs in a…
  • I'm B12 deficient. I have taken shots in the past but with my work schedule it's hard to get to the doctor's office so I take 2500mg a day. I take a quick dissolve pill under the tongue. It certainly doesn't help with weight loss but I do feel better energy wise. If I slack off & don't take it every day I feel sluggish &…
  • I use an app to track my cycle also. Thanks for the replies. It makes me feel a lot better & maybe I should stay away from the scale for a few days.
  • Thank you. I was worried that I was doing something wrong.
  • I take Paxil & it really has effected my weight. I'm eating a calorie deficit & I've lost 2.5 lbs. in 2 1/2 weeks. I just have to accept that it's going to take longer for me to get to my goal weight.
  • Every morning, after the bathroom & shower. I don't get discourged if the scale doesn't move from day to day. Just seeing that I'm consistent makes me feel good about the day before & I know the scale will move eventually.
  • I've done it several times. Not just with MFP but with Weight Watchers, fad diets, & on my own. You are not alone.
  • I'm 5'3". SW was 184, CW is 181.5, & GW is 135. I used Weight Watchers last year & lost 15 but I gained it all back plus 30 more. I just want to feel good about the way my clothes fit.
