  • Trying to lose 8 lbs of mostly water weight before your holiday seems nonsensical to me. So you will feel good on the beach on day 1 and by day 2 (unless of course you intend to continue this cleanse on your holidays) all that water weight will be back? Eat a balanced, nutritious diet, in moderation, drop a small amount of…
  • +1 And goes remarkably well with red wine as well
  • I prefer to run on my own, there is much more chance that I can keep up!
  • Cheese has always been my weakness but recently the list has also included nuts, particularly walnuts
  • There is far more to eating disorders than the amount of calories you eat and your initial posts did suggest that this might be the case. Great news that you didn't weigh yourself today! Maybe try and stretch the times between weighing, concentrate on the fit of your clothes and how you look. Also set yourself a realistic…
  • ummmmm no lol
  • You are not going to be able to add muscle unless you are eating more calories than your body needs for normal daily activity In order to see how many that is set MFP to maintenance and eat back all your exercise calories You are not going to lose weight and build muscle unfortunately
  • I am not entirely sure that stimulants are the same as the energy required for body function
  • No matter how nutritious your foods are your body still needs a minimum amount of calories to function based on what you burn per day including (apologies if terminologies are slightly wrong) Basal Metabolic Rate Non Exercise Activity Thermogenesis Food Thormogenisis Exercise Activity Thermogenisis What you are doing…
  • It is over exercising if you are not eating enough calories to fuel that exercise! So where do you think your body gets the energy from that it needs to function if not the calories that you eat? Well at your net calories it will come from burning fat and lbm No amount of protein and weight training will allow you to…
  • Would guess some of it will be water weight but if you have really gained 3.5 lb I still don't see an issue. You had an exceptional week and enjoyed yourself, I wouldn't have even put in as much effort as you did How long will it take you to lose that weight, 3 weeks, 5? Enjoy your vacations secure in the knowledge that…
  • Why? OP are you weighing/measuring everything that you eat ad drink? Are you logging it all? If so opening your diary might give some clues as to what is going on. Also what is your height weight and age if you dont mind sharing that info Its not how many times per day you eat its how any calories you have in those meals.…
  • Have had a peek at your diary and as well as upping your calories you should also read this link as well http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1234699-logging-accurately-step-by-step-guide
  • Another link that is worth looking at for macros is: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/819055-setting-your-calorie-and-macro-targets
  • Unfortunately those yummy Meringues turn out bad if I add the yolk
  • I go for my 2 week vacation to Greece in a little over 4 weeks time, will I put weight on while I am there.....almost certainly. Eating local foods and drinking the local wine and ouzo is all part of the fun of the holiday and some of those sweet pastries are fantastic. Lamb is the staple meat and quite fatty although…
  • This How much depends on a lot of factors including climate so a visual check is the easiest way to ensure you are hydrated
  • Kale..........well its an evil food in my world
  • You forgot that the bodyguards are fully medically trained so they are the perfect people to tell you whether you actually need to see the doctor faster than sometime in the next 3 months.......not lol
  • Started with MFP in August 2013 at 17 st dead (5' 10") and am now a few lbs away from my goal weight at just under 12 st. I have gone from obese to a healthy BMI, from a 42" waist to a 32/34" waist and the suit trousers I wore when I got married in back in 1994 are now too large Over half of the weight loss was from diet…
  • For £2.00 you can buy a pack of Tesco value chunky chicken 240 g Half a pack is 138 calories and 30 g protein which should be plenty so works out at £1.00 per day ETA the atkins bars are around £2.00 a go as well
  • How much are you spending, what amount of protein and other macros are you looking from the bar, what brand do you buy from boots and how much are they. I got into the Atkins bars because they have reasonable protein and good fibre but only bought them when tescos had them on offer
  • Would definitely visit the stronglifts website, the video's are great and if you sign up (free again) you get the program on a couple of spreadsheets for tracking
  • People eating fish in a mainly vegetarian diet are pescatarians I believe but the term is not used that much. I regularly hear people talk about being vegetarian and eating fish Its either because they don't think the people who they are talking too will understand pescatarian or they dont understand it themselves.
  • Hi Gem, Welcome to MFP and good luck with your weight loss Unless you have a medical reason to avoid sugar (Diabetes etc) then do not worry about the sugar limit, especially if most of it is coming from fruit. I stopped tracking sugar early on and replaced it with fibre, because its one of the things I wasn't getting…
  • I find the same with pistachios Bought some red melon seeds the other day but it turns out that life is just to short to shell those!!
  • I think a lot of the calorie burn inaccuracies come from the different effort levels that we are allowed to choose from. For example when using an elliptical my heart rate is very high and I sweat buckets so my initial thought is that the intensity level must be vigorous but then I am unfit even though I am improving.…
  • There seem to be a lot of very old threads being resurrected at the moment. This is two years old so will have lost the weight or suffered from alcohol poisoning by now
  • Personally I would say no I think you should go for a set that you can add weight to. Bought this myself and can add further discs if required so can grow with you if needed http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/9017362.htm
