It doesn't have to be 8 glasses of water, most of the liquids we drink count towards hydration, coffee, tea etc are all made with water and help to hydrate us (the oft stated fact that coffee dehydrates is a myth) In addition there is no magic number of how much to drink and it depends on the local climate, your activity…

I thought it was a pumpkin! Seriously though, there is no issue with eating below your BMR particularly if you have a reasonable amount of weight to lose. When I started I was obese and sedentary and the only way to get a sufficient deficit to lose 1.5 lb per week was to eat below my BMR Now that I am more active and have…

Goat is fantastic but you could also try Ostrich, Venison & Kangaroo as well, all good healthy alternatives but best eaten a little rare

I found that taking water with my Whiskey instead of other mixers saved me a few calories

They have been essential for me but more importantly have a search to see how many "Why am I not losing weight" threads end with the OP agreeing to get a food scale to try and get things moving again.

Also take a read of the following post http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1234699-logging-accurately-step-by-step-guide

BMR is the calories your body would burn in a coma so the minimum calories you need to survive. TDEE is the calories the bodies burns during your normal daily activity and includes exercise normally However when dieting your body gains some of this fuel by burning your fat stores Both are different measures to the one that…

I would second using Lidl and Aldi as alternatives to the main stream supermarkets. They sell salad and vegetables at much lower prices than the mainstream ones and they sell many of them loose. Meat is the problem for me because I think lean cuts tend to be expensive but once again Lidl often sell 1 Kg of chicken breasts…

Imam Bayidi although it would probably be worth cutting back on the olive oil :-)

Keep reminding yourself of that because its what many of us believe Just returned from a 2 week vacation myself and have gained 9 lbs and as eating out and drinking tends to be an integral part of my relaxation while away I see it as a sign of a good vacation  At the end of the day after what you have lost losing…

Nuts, seeds, olive oil all calorie dense foods that are nutritious and can be added in to your diet without vastly increasing the volume too much Ice Cream is always worth a thought as well :-)

Which is what I do and I lose consistently close to predicted losses. I was politely answering your comment but as to your other claims, it is relatively simple, you are not eating at a deficit. I am sure you take into account the up to 20% inaccuracy of packet nutrition data, I am also sure you don't over estimate…

Actually a lot of the information on MFP is ridiculously wrong, with some vastly underestimated calorie entries from member added foods

I would be vary wary of someone who told me cheese is not a good food choice when trying to lose weight because I suspect that they would be saying it in order to steal my cheese Eat cheese in moderation and its fine when it fits into your calories, the macro's are great with protein and fats and it goes soooooooo well…

Personally I prefer to download the podcasts from the NHS website in the UK

Counting calories isnt the only way to lose weight otherwise nobody would ever have lost weight using any other method, however being very active isn't a reason not to count calories in my view because you can still gain weight Even more important if you are very active is counting the calories and watching macro's to…

However what you are doing doesnt even remotely resemble healthy

Sounds like you are fairly busy as it is  My first 40 ish lbs were lost on diet with a small amount of exercise, mainly walking so it can be done. I would also recommend looking at the C25K program to move up from walking to running its a great way to up the exercise

So if clear could be good or bad then I will go with medical recommendations of pale straw over Bear Grylls
-
Sorry there is no set amount, what is recommended is the amount to keep the average person hydrated in the average climate and at an average activity level. OP just drink enough to keep your urine a pale yellow colour and you will be fine
-
Sorry but this nearly made me lose my wine laughing. Great that your way of eating has helped with your issues but that does not mean its is the best way for everyone or even healthier than other diets. Actually its a very narrow minded view of food

I eat bread rarely because I felt that I could use my available calories in a more satiating way. However I am starting to add bread back in (had a pitta with my kebab last night) as I approach maintenance because I still want it as part of my diet One of the things I am really looking forward to is a large chunk of…

And yet there are all these posts about "why do people criticize my clean eating habits" so before being judgmental on others motives maybe it is an insecurity in ones eating habits that is the cause of these posts
-
For the same reason that some clean eaters criticize those who are willing to incorporate processed foods into their diet, the same reason some criticize low carb diets, vegetarian, vegan and vice versa. Because many do not accept there is another way that may or may not be better or worse than their current beliefs.

I am going on vacation at the end of next week for two weeks and the way I will manage calories is...........................I won't At the end of the two weeks I am fully expecting to have put on 5 lbs even with my current eating habits But it wont worry me because not only will I have enjoyed my vacation but I now know…

This And at the end of the day when I gave up smoking I couldn't ban anyone from smoking near me so you have to learn to live the things that seem to be in your way and move on

Not sure about the USA but in the UK both Lidl and Aldi do a chest strap model for about £15.00. I have the Lidl (Crivit) version and it seems to be accurate based on calories burned and weight loss achieved

Just wanted to post this excerpt from the UK NHS site "It is really important not to "run through the pain" because the shin pain could be a sign of an injury to the bone and surrounding tissues in your leg. Continued force on your legs will make the injury and your pain worse." The pain of shin splints can be the result…

You can set custom macro goals in the settings but this is done on percentages rather than actual numbers unfortunately. I think the MFP default is 50% Carbs, 20% Protein and 30% Fat. You need to change these to give you the closest match to your requirements (5% moves are the minimum) As to what you change them too…

I used to suffer with these and actually stopped trying to run until I lost a bit of weight. Giving your shins a rest from the activity that is causing them is important and some sites recommend resting them for up to 2 weeks. Find an exercise that doesn't aggravate them so that you can still work out at this time. This…
