I make those in a slow cooker - and they turn out just as good as the Bakers Delight ones. The secret is to make sure you spread the Vegemite nice and thick, and don't skimp on the cheese either. The recipe is dead easy - 2 cups self raising flour 1 cup plain greek yoghurt Mix and knead until the dough is even and not…

Wedges are basically baked chips, but bigger LOL Ruby red is a variety of potato that has a perfect texture for baking - the skin is red, which is how it gets the name.

How do they go as wedges? As good as the ruby red variety?

On toast, and in sandwiches with a variety of fillings. Cheese and vegemite is always a winner. Another of my faves is salami and vegemite. When I was a kid I used to love iceberg lettuce and vegemite on a sandwich, with nothing else.

You can buy casual baggy shorts with chamois inserts sewn in (some have removable inserts), specifically designed for riding comfort and/or off road cycling. I've got a couple of pairs that I wear with regular lycra jerseys, and in winter I wear them with standard leg warmers

For anyone needing to stock up on protein bars at a heavy discount, Catch of the Day has a mega sale today featuring several different brands.

Fat is not the enemy.

Double Choc Chunk, and White Choc Raspberry are my two fave flavours - the texture of those two are not as chewy as some of the other flavours I've tried

Scales don't tell you how you look or feel. In the absence of accurate body composition tracking to measure if you're losing fat, gaining muscle, or vice versa, or both, it is far better to rely on the mirror, and how your clothes fit, to measure your progress. Looking at your pics, it would seem you're well on the right…

Do your weights before you jump on the treadmill for 40 mins. Nothing worse than trying to lift with proper form when you are already fatigued from doing cardio. If you must do cardio, do it in a zombie-like state while you are recovering from your strength workout.

The newer Quest double choc chunk has better texture than the choc chip cookie dough flavour, IMHO.

PS. The cheapest place to buy Quest online is at iherb.com

+1 on Quest. 20gm of protein, less than 200 cals. Heaps of different flavours. I usually have one a day as a sweet treat.
-
iherb.com Fast and cheap shipping too.

Good point. Chasing after the animals to eat them while they are still alive would be a good cardio burn as well. Win/win!

It's not very difficult to get your protein in forms other than powder. Dead animals of any type, cheese, eggs, good quality protein bars etc.
-
Chobani for the win. 170gm serve, 14g protein. Comes in a gazillion flavours.
-
Good one. My standard quick and easy drive thru fast food snack on the go is KFC crispy strips - 3 strips (151g) totals 348 calories, with 30g of protein and 28g fat.

I'm 52 and the only supps I take are creatine and magnesium. I make sure I eat plenty of protein, and I make sure I mix up my lifting sessions regularly so I don't get in a rut. The same rules apply no matter how old you are - focus on compound lifts with good technique, no foo-foo exercises, keep the intensity high, don't…

Another leg option when the squat rack isn't available is barbell hack squats - start them from the floor like a deadlift, no need for a rack

Actually, the real benefit of *good* protein bars is the fact you can get 20gm of protein in one easy hit with minimal carbs or sugar. Far more convenient than grilling some chicken or opening a tin of tuna as a quick snack. And, it's a healthy sweet treat that substitutes really well psychologically for people who are…

The double chocolate chunk flavour is newer and has a completely different texture to the chewy flavours. The texture is more crumbly, closer to a cookie.

My son was almost 8 when we upgraded him to a 24" MTB with a 6 speed cluster last Christmas. He's tall for his age though, and has been riding without training wheels since he was 3. I think it took him around 10 minutes to get the hang of gears, and to understand the concept. He's been on a couple of 20km rides with me so…

The mirror and how your clothes fit are far better tools for measuring progress than scales
