I agree with the comment that it might be the D3 (depending on the dose-level it contains). My skin gets more sensitive, dry and itchy with D3 supplementation. I don't have those issues with Inositol (currently take 2 grams in AM & PM, + metformin).

Chiming in with my story & so I can follow this thread (hopefully for personal inspiration & to help support others). I don't have a conception success story yet, but I send you my best wishes that you will have one soon, @kaysday ! I'm ditto-ing on @mimismommy11 's suggestion of trying the Ovulation Prediction Kits…

Good Luck with your journey! With time & dedication, you'll get there! You might want to try to join some groups that fit your interest/goals on MFP. I have had a few "false starts" before on MFP, but this time with being more involved in the community aspect, I'm having more success than I ever have before. This is one of…

Ditto to this. The one I use is called "Clue" and it has been pretty spot on. Now that things are starting to become a bit more regulated for me (on metformin & low carb), it's also been helping me become more in-tune with my body. I.e. I gain weight during when it thinks my "fertile window" (theoretical ovulation) time…

Hi @ser51906 . I'm 32 (almost 33), newly diagnosed with PCOS as of July, and TTC for 5.5 years. I started my weight loss journey mid-May at 280 pounds (down from 286 at the beginning of the year), and am currently 246. Congratulations on your loss so far on this journey! I'm really proud of you! I'm very sorry to hear…

I just found it hilarious, because a local family member who gave me A LOT of grief when I started this WOE 4 months ago ("that's soooo unhealthy", "you're just going to gain it back", "you're going to have a heart attack at 35"... yada yada ad nauseum), was talking about the article at the dinner table yesterday like she…

I second the suggestion of going lower-carb if you aren't already. Be sure to make sure you are drinking a lot of water. I would also recommend adding strength-training to your exercise regimen. It might not make the scale number drop as quickly as you would like to, but it will help tighten/tone & slim.

@EarthAmber Your experience sounds similar to mine, so I thought I would share in case it is helpful? I started in May 2015 with a modified LowerCHF diet (not super-low, I try to keep my carbs <70-80g net or lower right now) & Metformin ER 1000mg b.i.d). I also take Inositol. I started with my exercise as body-weight…

I wanted to chime in that I lose in what I like to refer to as "stages." I'll have a big scale drop across 1-2 weeks. Then it will be 1-3 weeks of my weight fluctuating around the same place, and then I'll finally have another big scale drop. Those "stall" weeks are frustrating, but it definitely helps to take your…

Hi Kim! I also have PCOS. Feel free to add me if you would like. I'm also a member of a PCOS group on MFP which is a great resource (be sure to check old postings). P.C.O.Sis http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/group/3070-p-c-o-sis

I enter the strength exercises through the MFP app just so I can keep track of what my current rep/weight is for each activity. As far as I know, tracking that on MFP doesn't actually add in "exercise calories" but it is handy to have it auto-recall what you last bench pressed, for example.

Isn't it great? It took a couple times for me to get used to that slightly sweet/minty undertone it has, and I'm not a fan of it just mixed with water like the directions say, but it makes me feel literally Amazing. lol Both from the energy standpoint & the fact my gut loves the probiotics.

I make my own with the following ingredients. I stay away from pre-bought protein powders because a) the carb counts seem to be high, OR 2) they use artificial sweeteners which I try to avoid. This may have a higher carb count than some would want, but the "net carb" is 6 g. I don't get the "I want to eat the world"…

My PCOS & insulin-related issues cause a similar reaction in me, but it was even WORSE when I was on BCP (ortho tri cyclen lo). I gained 80 pounds over 3 years on BCP when it was started for irregular cycle, with no changes in diet & I constantly felt hungry. Really, the only way for me to combat this is to lower the…

@Juliet3455 I get vertigo when I try to breathe bilaterally, too. It has always happened to me, even as a year-round swimmer when I was a kid/teenager. It used to frustrate the heck out of my coaches. It has only gotten worse as I've gotten older...lol. My hypothesis is that I just have really sensitive inner-ears, because…

Unfortunately, no. It has the opposite effect on me where often times I have to remind myself it is time to eat (which is contrary to my entire life existence up til this point, my hunger pangs & cravings controlled my life). The only exception to this is that near my TOM, I still fight the urge to "eat the entire…

Also ditto to the low-carb thing when starting metformin. I was already low carb when starting it (<20%/day, around 40g net, & had been for around a month), and had zero problems with nausea on a daily basis. BUT...even on my full dosage now (1000mg ER b.i.d. AM & PM), if I have a carb level day that is closer to "standard…

I've been on it for about 6 weeks. I started with 500mg once-a-day for one week, stepped up to 500mg twice a day for one week, then 1000mg Extended-release once-a-day for 4 days, and now am on 1000mg Extended-Release twice a day from here on out. I'm losing weight a little bit faster than I did pre-Metformin. For me, the…

My macros are set at: 20% carb, 25% protein, & 55% fat...this seems to be the magical formula for me for actually losing weight at a slow-steady pace & not just merely maintaining (which my body has an amazing ability to just maintain). I had previously done a higher protein but lower fat ratio earlier, at the same calorie…

Even though I just started swimming again, I know from prior experience that I have to be really proactive about my hair & skin care. My skin can go from "It's just dry" to "OMG, My skin's bleeding" within a few swims once winter arrives. First of all- if you're not wearing a swim cap, you need to buy a swim cap. You don't…

Thanks @AquaticQuests I guess I should clarify that the 32#'s is from my highest recorded weight, which was at a doctor's office in April. I've only lost 26 of those 32 since the beginning of May. Still not shabby...I won't complain. And I've been out of the pool for the past 1.5 weeks for vacation, so tonight's workout is…

Also an Indiana gal. I have around 100 to lose. Feel free to add me if you would like :) .

I would try upping by a couple glasses a day, every few days, until you find your comfortable limit. The heart palpitations/anxiety are also "less common" side effects of Met, so it is possible it could be the Met. But, I know a lot of people get GI issues when they are first on Met, so you may be requiring a bit more…
-
Quick question: Are you drinking enough water? I drink *way* more water throughout the day than the suggested general guidelines because if I don't, I get heartburn/palpitations issues. I'm not currently on Metformin but headed that way soon. I do eat a Low Carb High Fat Diet, and I find that if I am not drinking a lot of…

Just sharing my experience: I used to do low carb with high protein, and I lost weight but it was at a really slow rate. Like really slow (granted, I'm 5'9" & a lot heavier than you are). I also still felt like I was hungry all of the time & my energy was low. I switched to low carb, moderate protein, high fat...and at…

I'm now 9 days without any raw cacoa or unsweetened chocolate-containing items...and I haven't strangled anyone, yet. That's a good sign, right? I think it has cut down on my carb craving, too. It seems easier to hit my target. Even though I love bitter, unsweetened chocolate, I think there's some brain-connect…

I always took mine once a day on an empty stomach (normally about an hour before I had my morning protein smoothie). This was a recent/good study comparing a lot of the top-selling brands of probiotics. I take/took the NOW Foods one listed (Ranked 2nd in Quality, Ranked 3rd in Value) https://labdoor.com/rankings/probiotics…

I've lost 21.7# in 30 days...but I honestly think the first 5-7# of that were water-retention weight related to grain products with how quickly it dropped (like in 48 hours). 8.5# of those 21.7# have been in the past 7 days after switching to a 30g (ish, I flex it from 25-35 on the day) carb level. Before that I had been…

This sounds really similar to what I experienced. I got *really* bloated when eating grain products. But I got almost as equally bloated when eating a lot of vegetables on a diet similar to Whole 30. Leafy greens & squashes don't seem to bother me. I think it is a reaction to the type of fiber for me. It got a little bit…
