You are so bad @TavistockToad Look away!!!!

It is somewhat possible to have abs during a bulk....they just are not quite as defined....plus it helps if you have muscle underneath... My timeline from August '15 to May '16 This was from Aug last year, ~168 lbs..... Started my bulk Sept. last year....By end of November I was @ 184 lbs. Sadly I didn't stay at 184 or…

I would concur.
-
maybe take some time to rest....
-
Yes as far as a weight gain/loss perspective goes.... For a vitamin/nutrient/macro perspective....maybe not so much

I eat the foods I want and just track it. Try to keep around my calorie goals.
-
Other things I would wonder is some of what @psulemon listed As well as age and how long has he been working out?
-
My opinion....I am at the same stats myself. A couple things to look at, would be if you go for 1 year (so 12 months). I would advise you do 6 - 8 months of calorie surplus where you are adding ~6-8 lbs / month. So for 6 months that would be about 36 lbs, for 8 months 48 lbs....I might would split the baby and go 7 months…

I will at times, but not as often. Right now I honestly don't feel like eating ice cream But come summer that may change. :)
-
What is clean though??? You have to define clean? When I do my bulk I add in a lot of ice cream, brownies, cookies....
-
LOL. Clean? Things high in fat are calorie packed. Nuts nut butters avocados whole milk
-
Now to give you the scenario of a 12 month bulk period. Goal would be 2 lbs / month == 24 lbs. So end up around 200 lbs. At the end of that, Let's say I still put on the ~10 lbs of muscle (maybe 12 if I am really lucky).... But if I put on 10 lbs of muscle, that leaves 14 lbs of fat and water. Again, we will say 4 lbs of…

Others have noted this and I will alos. Going from 142 to 155 and now to 200....that's huge!!! You should probably break it up over the course of years honestly. What is your height? I am 6'1 and weigh in at 175 right now. I could (if my appetite were to hold) put on 25 lbs. to get to 200. But I would have to do it over…
-
Agree with that.

Sounds like a good plan. I think in that case it may depend on the person and how quickly he can drop the weight for a cut.... For me it is hard to bulk, but easy to cut.... In OP's case it might be more beneficial to put on some weight right now, and work on adding that muscle.... Then go for a bigger cut. But yes,…
-
The only thing I would be concerned with is energy levels. If you are on a cut, then you are taking in less energy....so at some point, things will begin to get really hard in the gym.
-
When do you plan to start your bulk? Looking at your pic, I would say you are at a decent/borderline spot to start a bulk..... Get your calories to where you are putting on around 1 lb / week....maybe 1.5 at the most..... So that would be 4 - 6 lbs / month.
-
I think you would be better to get your diet right in order to put on size, before you start looking into Supps. If the diet isn't right, supps will be a waste of money for the most part...... For me and depending on what my goals are at the time I set up my calorie/macro intake like this: Protein 1.0 gr / lb of body…
-
One of the supp shops near me, will have sales for $30 on 5 lb tubs, and so when they do, I try to pick up one or two.
-
I like the Met-Rx brand myself. Tastes decent and fits nicely into my macros/calorie goals.
-
I would stick w/ it for a couple more weeks, see how you respond. Then adjust accordingly.....some could just be water weight. I was 179 Monday of this week, been eating 2800 - 2900 calories, and today I weighed in at 172.8 Kinda expected it to happen like that, but thought I would stop at 174. So keep at 3100, see how it…
