Ooh, I like that. Of course, that wouldn't work with my mom ("Eat! Eat! It's good for you!")

Power Ranger I'm actually quite dull.

Yep, agree with that. I try to come as close as I can to the logging, but if I'm not exact, that's okay. One thing that I find helpful is that so many chain restaurants have documented nutrition information. So last night's dinner at a local Italian place looks like this in my diary: Veal Marasala from Carrabba's Angel…

Maybe it's just that I have a very slow dog. Who knows? He does like to sniff a lot. If you call your walks with your dogs "treks" you're probably moving quite a bit more than I am.

I'm actually fortunate in that the guys I deal with most frequently at work are reasonably fit. The guy over the cube wall from me is way ahead of me; he lost serious weight over the last year or two and now is maintaining. Good for him. He didn't talk about it much at the time, but now that I'm doing similar things, we…

Shorts and a t-shirt. Just like I'm wearing now. Oh, I guess it's not the same with guys.

10/2 - 12* 10/3 - 12 Total: 24 miles *fixed gear rides Tonight's ride was a bike date with my wife. It was her first ride in a couple weeks, and 12 miles was probably more than we should have attempted. But dinner was delicious and we made it home in one piece, so it was a good night.

Then you will know that some people disagree with me. Look at it this way: If you set up to lose a pound a week, eating about 500 fewer calories (depending on your current weight, metabolism, etc.) will put you at a weight loss rate of 2 lb. per week, more or less. If I take a long ride, I probably leave a bigger gap than…

I had those, and surprisingly I did get a puncture. Nothing is flatproof. Right now I'm running these: http://www.amazon.com/Panaracer-RiBMo-Tire-Wire-1-25-Inch/dp/B003L9D9WS/ref=sr_1_2?s=sporting-goods&ie=UTF8&qid=1380821208&sr=1-2&keywords=ribmo I've had them a while (almost 2 years) and so far, no flats. I ride a lot of…

Well, you're a cyclist, so you got that going for you. Pedal hard! It's good for you! I've had some disagreement, but if you log all your calories eaten and your exercise, don't feel the need to "eat back" all your calories that you earn from exercise. In my case, I'm not sure if I really burn as many calories as the…

At Six Flags Over Texas this summer, there was a woman who couldn't be properly locked into the roller coaster but they let her ride anyway. She ended up falling to her death in front of her (adult) children. So.... be grateful they don't let you ride; it's for your own safety. I'm sure the Six Flags incident has been…

9/2 - 12* Total: 12 miles *fixed gear rides I did a quick ride so I could get home and watch the first game of the Buffalo Sabres NHL season. So far, not good- losing 2-0 after the first period. But still, the weather for the ride was superb and I did a sporty 14.9 mph average on my fixed gear.
