I didn't change my goal. I was 77 kg, wanted to reach 68 kg which is right in the middle of a healthy BMI and which was a weight for more than 20 years. I reached 68 kg then went on losing a bit more without meaning to, down to 65 kg. I've been maintaining for 2 years now but unfortunately my weight has inched up slowly to…

I spam robot?

If you just want to maintain no need to be at a deficit...
-
I don't do much exercise at all...but I'm careful with what I eat!
-
I'm maintaining and weigh in once a week, but when I'm trying to lose (like right now the few pounds from holidays) I weigh in almost every day...
-
Yep I do that too! For cravings I eatsome beef jerky, proteins help me feel full...
-
I thought mussels were good but they're around 7 cals per g of protein.
-
I'm just like you, have put on a few pounds over the holidays, and now need to go back to logging etc to lose them....grrr...
-
Hey that sounds interesting - where can I find this challenge? thanks

Hi! I'm 1m69 (5'6'') Current weight 156 Goal weight 147 I was there a year ago but have gained a little bit back slowly...

My Ah-Ha moment was organising family photographs in August 2013 into the computer. These were summer/bathing suit pictures. Oh my God!! Who's that fat whale floundering on the beach? No....is that me....?? Yep. What made it work? I was browsing and found MFP: I thought OK this is easy and mathematical, I can do this! Then…

Congrats! And even if you don't start lifting weights you'll find you like yourself better as the weeks go by - go to get used to it...
-
Don't worry about one pound...it'll come off. I also think you are not viewing yourself as you are (ie not fat at all) and should seek help.
-
yummy!

Well done! and so much info!

The first month of maintaining I thought I had a lot to eat.....haven't felt that since, though! and that was more than 1 year and a half ago...
-
Yes maintaining is difficult...for me it's avoiding high-cal foods that's tough! I love cooking cakes for my kids! but also eating them!! I like your suggestion of staying in the 3-7 for fullness, range :-)

I often have a bowl of soup as soon as I get home from work around 7.30 Pm - as I'm starving by then it keeps we from overeating whatever's for dinner...
-
Drinking a large glass of water first (when all you want to do is stuff your mouth with eg chocolate cake!!) - then waiting at least 5 minutes before eating, can help....
-
Well it's difficult to answer your questions...We can just share experiences. When i reached maintenance a year and a half ago I bumped straight up from 1300 to 1800 and felt real good - and didn't put on weight. Regarding foods my own adive would be, try to stick to healthy stuff. It is just sooo easy to go way beyond…

5'6 and 150 pounds. Been maintaining for a year.

Well to me a normal burger/fries meal at Mc Donalds or equivalent is definitely a very unhealthy meal. It is twice as many calories as I would usually have in one meal, it is much higher in fat and sugar than my usual meals, and it doesn't fill me up for the day. I don't call it a cheat meal because I don't use that…

This is an interesting post but very much North- America oriented. Why is obesity concerning only 15% of adults in France versus 35% in the US? We love food here in France and it's a central part of our social life too...And we don't work out all that much... So maybe that's food for thought. Normal weight doesn't have to…

Congrats on maintaining! I also have long word days and no energy for workouts - this is why I work out very little so can't really give you tips! - Working out twice a week already sounds pretty good to me so well done!
-
I didn't get rid of anything - but only lost 20 pounds (only had that to lose) so my bigger clothes are still wearable.
-
Bread! Pastries! Cakes and pies! Even the home-made ones are sooo calorie dense...
-
First of all congrats on the fantastic weight loss! For the loose skin - well I guess it goes with it....This didn't happen to me as I had less to loose...so can't give you advice but as you're young I think your skin will partly tighten up by itself as time passes, anyway. - Good luck!

Well I think BMI does give us a good indication of where we stand....The definitions of over weight or underweights using BMI are based on long-term deleterious effects on health of our weight.... Striving for a normal BMI is generally a good idea!
